Great EP from a band who have pursued their own unique vision from the start. The demo and subsequent EPs were fantastic, but Hero was a bold step up for them. This EP sounds a bit darker and calls back to the earlier material while carrying the great clean vocals forward from Hero. As ever, I'm really looking forward to what they do next.
My friend, you should listen to their previous album. It is a master piece of raw and organic heavy music! The lyrics are amazing and enhance the wholesome of the experience! Bolzer is unique.
New EP from these guys, great. Following on the same path as Hero I see, and always captivating and with that primal feel to it. A very unique style that I've yet to see others try to imitate. Also very interesting symbology there on the cover, looks like Sigel rune, the Sun for fortune.
I'm ashame, but i came here for the cover art, great to know what it is about, thanks. Sounds like the old early classic stuff from Second wave. 20 or 25 years ago, this would has been a classic and would has influenced tons of bands. Of course it's still great nowadays. PD did I hear someone whistiling in the first track?
@@pipoalegro this has minimum references to the second wave. I don't know what bands you have in mind but the main representatives of the 2nd wave were never down-tuned or groovy and were always using a very specific type of shrinking vocals. Maybe there's a slight reference to the great Aeternus but that's about it. Bolzer particularly derived from the depths of Blackened death sub-genre and most likely sharing features with Grave Miasma and Necros Christos.
@@mariapelano5639 Yeap, you are right. Im not sure what band I was thinking about, but Aeternus and Arckanum comes to my mind. What I meant, is that this has an early second wave vibe. Of course, it's far away from orthodox traditional sound. I must revisit Primordial, I'm thinking about them but I can't clearly remember their sound.
@@pipoalegro yes some chord progressions recall Primordial. And maybe the clean singing. And yes what you heard on the first track was whistling. Jones is full of creative spontaneity. You should see him perform live. Guy's the real deal.
@@nachoherrera5678 yayayaya! You are deadly right, Nacho! Mission accomplished up there! But I have to agree, Bolzer is yet to be more appreciated, in my opinion ... :-)
The world needs more of these epic black metal bands. I saw them in Atlanta, and they have such a unique vibe to them. On this EP, though, that snare and tom are jarringly loud. Not sure I agree with the production choices.
@@Pragnantweggyboard I never claimed it was, but this is, in my opinion, more black than death. I could see an argument made for it being some type of war metal, but I still think "epic black metal" is the closest genre tag for Bolzer.
Blackened death would be valid although the essential death metal features are leniently minimal. It sounds more like experimental black in guitar technique.
Still a shocking album cover almost 3 years later. I still have a hard time looking at it. It looks like cheap shitty wrapping paper. Well, at least the album is damn good. 🤘
Essential EPs are endangered species nowadays. Bölzer brings back hope.
It's another project call HYPOCRISY :), maybe vacal is diferently sounds like, but rest \m/ it's realy good :-)
I am 40 , have heard a lot, and can tell this is outstanding.

loving how precise and clear the drums are!
terrific work
just love it ... im into this band from the 1st time i heard a track

I want more and more. Amazing ep.
Intensity and condensed materiał with some Sonic flavours like a whistle😈 big 🤘 4 them. Best death metal band actually.
Uma das melhores bandas de metal, simplesmente destruidora.
Respeito \m/
Black Death de folie , ces mecs tiennent quelque chose de grand . Comme quoi , il y a encore des pistes à explorer en métal extrême...
An absolutely amazing EP!

That primal feeling is what I love most about them. It reminds me a lot of Ruins of Beverast, which is always a great thing.

Sempre fantastici!!
Finally the great BOLZER!!! Always bringing refreshment to Metal! All hail!!!
Nothing fresh here
I forgive you all who don't understand the magic of Bolzer! It takes spiritual refinement! Those who can't, enjoy your mediocre life! :-)

Hahahahahahahaha. 🥳
This is better than their last LP.
Absolutely f****** shredding the f*** out of the masses. But a whole new meaning to a two man band
Yes, it sounds so fresh. Very good ep! welcome back Bolzer!
like this whisle sounding tunes!!!!
Genius.
About time!!!!!!!!!Great!!!!!
Getting a Mastodon vibe from the clean vocals, great stuff! Riff madness as usual too
Mastodon?
@@ChoppedInHalv Well, in the first song and that would be the Mastodon on Crack The Skye at least. Stopped following them after that really
It is not because sometimes the vocals are clean that Bolzer "gets a Mastodon vibe". They are utterly different. I love them both!
@@naveguenow955 this is a completely subjective statement that i felt like sharing, not something i want you to believe

Fucking amazing some real shit here !! Everyone should go check my dads band as well black anvil !
Anyone experience with how they're live?
yes, they are very good and intense, seen them 2 times, last time was in a small venue, sound live like the record, recommended
last performance was at the cellar at vera in groningen, was a surprise gig for promotion of the new ep, free entry and up close perfromance, amazing!
better live
A couple times. Saw them before Hero, was fucking crushing.
Saw them few years ago supporting watain tour australia. Amazing experience, solid and tight night.

Is it full album?
No it's an Ep.
@@mariapelano5639 So it's full. I asked if any track was cut or something
@@maksymalnybul6145 sorry my bad.
only by listening to this I fully realised how Vltimas (eternally) far from perfection they're claiming for
Don't mention that overrated band here
What's next? Realising how terribly Behemoth sucks?
Far better than the disapointing Full-lenght, even tough they carry some elements, but on a higher qualitative level.
Gabriel Quintanilha killer release, but I prefer Hero over this.
