@lostribe5130 Thank you so much! 😊 We've had a terrible time with the weeds this year, but we will be doing a lot of work in those areas this winter to get them better prepared for the next planting season. I am really enjoying canning and preserving what we are bringing in and it's amazing that was just this week's harvest. God sure knows how to give out blessings 🙏

Here at Oathers Legacy Farm we are having a hard time keeping up with the garden, canning and freeze drying

@georgesmith1938 I know! That's how I feel. 🤣🤣 I check them every day and it's like bam! - The okra is the same way! This rain has been a tremendous help. I'm glad to hear you're having a good harvest too! 😊

@ChickadeeMountainHomestead I'm watching those figs like a hawk 🤣 Thank you! I appreciate you watching and keeping up with our journey here. I am learning so much! It's just amazing how much you learn by simply growing your own. I'm so thankful to be able to have our harvest on the shelves and put up for us throughout the year.

That’s some watermelon vine! Wowzer! Garden bounced back nicely. I dug up my potatoes today! It’s so much fun…I got about 8-10pounds! Big and beautiful…your canning is fantastic! Nice job…

@cbass2755 The dogs are going to have a watermelon invasion before long! 🤣 I can't believe how good that vine is doing especially as dry as it's been. We really needed this rain, and it has helped so much! Wow! That is amazing on the potatoes! I'm looking forward to digging in the dirt and seeing what comes of ours. Thank you for the kind words. I am really enjoying canning and learning all the ends and outs. It's been a fun experience! 😊🤗❤️

Figs! I'm going to make pork with fig sauce this week. Figs are delicious in a cobbler. My fig tree is dead now.

@lostribe5130 Oh, you are making my mouth water - that sounds so good! You'll need to share those recipes with me. I would love to try both! ❤ I hate to hear that about your fig tree. Ours was completely eaten down by the deer, but it is coming back thankfully. We planted a few more and we are hoping they'll do good since it got so dry this year.

You know it is a lot of hard work but man how it does save us a ton of money to can. Girl I love pickled okra and I make it every chance I get.

@ChickadeeMountainHomestead I was amazed at how much money it is saving. That was just for this week's harvest and didn't include everything we've brought in. How blessed we are! 🙏 I LOVE my okra, now! I will eat it anyway you give it to me 🤣 This is the first time I have pickled it, and it was so fun and easy to do - just some garlic, vinegar, peppercorn and dill seeds - I'm looking forward to taste testing that! What all do you use when pickling yours?

@@CelebratingFarmLife girl I love okra too! Yes most pickling items are pretty easy to fix. I use the same spices in my pickled okra also. They are the best! Yes the baked beans I did today in a video that is uploading now, they will save us so much money. That's $3 a can usually, and I got 8 pints today. That adds up!!

@@ChickadeeMountainHomestead I can't wait to see the video. I will be on the lookout for it! That is awesome! I was blown away when I started actually adding up the expenses and what we are saving. The cost at the grocery store has gotten unbelievable! Learning how to can this stuff has been a blessing!
