*Update* USA Sweeps World Championship Finals. Noah Lyles Breaks American Record 19.31 2nd) Kenny Bednarek 3rd) Erriyon Knighton
Fred Kerley can't stop laughing at the back and forth between Noah and Erriyon. This is good stuff.
hahaha yah man he's just soaking it all in, may he get the double!
Kerley is a legend - he is loving it and soon enough he will be in it
🤣
This is what track and field needs
No, remember Americans are the reason track and field almost die and Jamaica give it back its power
@@romelllewis8195 huh?
Americans was the main reason track and field was dying then bolt came alone and saved it@@LiterallyPaulGeorge
@@romelllewis8195 okay still not giving reasons as to how Americans are the reason it was dying 🤣🤣🤣
@@LiterallyPaulGeorge Gatlin, Tyson gayle, Marrison what do they all have in common?....m
Noah said "I know my top speed is faster"....
Knighton thinking "we gonna see about that theory when it really counts next time..."
It’s true. Lyles is better at the 200 than the 100 because his top speed kicks in late, usually around the 75 to 80 meter mark in a 100. I believe that lyles can beat everybody in the world in a 150.
@@dageneral0179 Lyles lost 150m into this race tho. 200m was just enough distance for him to make the comeback
@@TheAwesomeAccount obviously lyles was holding back. If this was a 150 lyles would have won. Knighton can beat lyles in the 100 but not 150 or 200
@@dageneral0179 Yeah, I guess in other races he's shown that but he needs to put it all together next time. It's not that easy to get a great start and a great finish when you need it.
@@TheAwesomeAccount He heard you lol.
A rare occasion where Fred Kerley is smiling!
He got a Ole wide ninja turtle mouf🤣🤣
This is great rivalry. Erriyon Knight mad as hell that he lost to Noah. This is good for the sports. I love it. Noah Lyles rubbing his face in it bad. Love it that's what track and field is all about good rivalry.
Exactly, I'm glad this happen now at the world championship Erriyon is out he gonna make sure he never gets walked again.
Temporary rivalry!
Not even a rivalry? Just competition
Lmao
hell remember that in the 4 by 1 relay and dont pass the baton properly and come second should watch his mouth
Bolt got mad when came in second to Gay and decided that was never happening again and he delivered. It was a game changing loss.
Agreed, this is motivation beyond anything money can produce. When your competitor tells you to your face he wasn't "worried about you" coming off the turn...its rubs different - Lyles just dug his own track grave!
@@Aaron-sv1rm i agree. Especially when you look at Lyles' winning time over Knighton. Why poke the bear? Gave this kid all the motivation he needs. As well as a whole new group of fans.
Exactly it might not be this year but when he Turns 20 he will be unbeatable
I think the Knight youngster didn’t like getting beat by a guy with gray hair.
@@Aaron-sv1rm man please, nobody is beating noah.
Ooooooh brother that was cold 🥶. Lyles just awoke the beast inside of Knighton. A new rivalry is born!
They should keep this rivalry up to secure that 4x100m relay gold in the World Championship.
As much a Knighton is talented, a lack of experience caused him this race. He exerted all his energy around the b end trying to separate himself from lyles and he paid dearly for it in the last 50m..... with time and more competition he will definitely grow.
@@hamee8726 if you look at his 19:49 he ran the same way through the first 150m. Difference here is he started to tense up and lose his form instead of staying relaxed
@@Oscar-vg4cy I understand what you're saying, and if infact ge ran the same way it means that he could've ran faster. As a former National track athlete, I can tell you that I'm not surprised he got tensed and lost form. That's the price to pay for running all out.
@@hamee8726 As a former national track athlete you should also understand peaking at the right time. He's already ran a 19.49 this season. It's best that he does NOT improve on that time at Nationals it's best he improve on that time at Worlds. A 19.69 is a great time to improve upon and have a final peak in ~20days
People are acting like Lyle's doesn't always pull shit like this, he's just a showman
Trash
but he backs it up with wins
Unlike shacarri 🤣
This was waaay more than just being a showboater. That comment int the interview is what set-off Erriyon. It's way more personal than a rivalry now.
@@cavaleerso you don’t think that each person in track and field is out to prove that they’re faster than their competition? The only difference and that Noah said it out loud and I have no problem with it. Racing someone in general is personal because you’re trying to prove you’re faster than them. This is great for track and field and will kick start a rivalry between these guys which is great
Fred Kerley made the interview for me. Didn't win but was happy as hell at Lyles & Knighton lolol... can't wait for Worlds
This is what happens when you have two cocky sprinters. Noah needed Erryon for the motivation to run his best and Erryon needed Noah to push himself to do better. Fred is just happy to be part of it all. I wish them all the best in worlds.
Ironically Fred has the biggest ego lol
Fred is the favorite to win the 100
Fred out there to win what you on
from what I've seen Erriyon isn't cocky, maybe i've not seen enough lol
Erriyon isn't cocky. You are making that up.
I laughed so hard in the post race interview...classic.
Trash talking?? Is that what the sport needs???
@@deeblue984 He's just trolling him. I think he knows Knighton is young and who knows, maybe Lyles is a little scared so he feels like he has to mind game Erriyon a bit.
@@apcook34 Yes this is about mind games. Knighton learned that champions don’t fold when passed on the curve. He needed this loss to understand that his rivals have already trod the path he is on now. Track is littered with young phenoms that never pan out. The mental part must be mastered. Shut the trolling up by winning. Use it a fuel to get better.
@@richardhill4938 mamba mentality… to execute in chaos. its a good rivalry and positive trash talk.. said he “got the best of me on the curve” said “it’s never finished, thats right!” lol theyre both fueled! i love it! its really a game of who can stay the most relaxed with this type of pressure. Love it!
@@apcook34 he knows that young boy IS his replacement...u mean ur JUST starting out and run one of the world's top 5 fastest times??? And Young boy STILL got some growing to do ! Ooooh man...I can imagine the jamacian track coach winging him...that 19.4x will be a thing of the past...its gonna definitely DROP.
Not sure how Lyles closed that last 30 yards.. WOW!! 🔥🔥🔥
*meters
Cause he’s always fast. You didn’t hear him?
6 year difference in muscular development and training..... Erryon will be scary in 2-3 years, even tho he's crazy fast right now
@@LucasLeCompteMusic true! 😂
@@HumptyMcFly He's not lying
Knighton vs Lyles, I love it🙌🏾😂🙌🏾 This gotta be Lyles best rest ever🔥
No but maybe Lyles' best comeback-win over 200 meters dash.
lol
Nah the American record was his best race vs Knighton.. Noah ran 19.31 😤
Best rivalry since Michael Johnson and Maurice Greene @ the 2000's US Olympic Trials. Good promotion for the sport.
😂 I still go back and watch the buildup to that race. I'll never forget how upset I was when they both pulled up.
There rivalry goes even beyond and before that. Remember when they had a special 2 man race at 150 meters to see who was the fastest man on earth.
Noah backed it up this time but I want to see Erriyon obliterate everyone at worlds. I hope that dude runs the smoothest 200m of his life and goes 19.3.
Erriyon is only 19. He hasn't hit his prime yet. I'm glad that Noah is rubbing his nose in it. It will just fuel his fire.
I say 19.2 by next year God spare life
Yes me too
He will
He posed to do something nasty at worlds after that race.19.19
Love this!! They make me want to watch the 200m now since they are both talented and train so hard 🥰
Love Kerley's reaction to Knighton storming off.
With the price of gas these days and seeing how Knighton ran out at the end. He just got a courtesy unlimited fill up from Lyles.
Lyles was ice cold talking like that with Knighton right next to him. Lol i love it. Its good for the sport
Fred and Noah's speed maintenance is goated. Fred came off behind but didn't lose barely any ground on Noah as he and Noah starting running people down.
Bro was mad but I don’t blame him I would be too getting hawk and stared down😭
bruh i would be mad if someone did that to me in PE. imagine on the world stage. Lyles created the first ever track posterization. 🤣
This totally cracked me up 🤣🤣🤣 The most entertaining post race interview ever!. Noah Lyles is well known as a bit of a joker so Erryon shouldn't have allowed himself to get wound up by this. Anyway I'm excited along with everyone here to see the show down at the World Champs!🔥🙌 😀
Love the passion and heart from the youngin. Let’s gooo
Love Noah and Erriyon! Can’t wait to watch the world’s record tonight 7/21/2022
You can see how his shoulders tense up at the end where as Lyles was running loose and relaxed
exactly
Noah Lyles running with the Bolt vibe. Beautiful.
We need this!
Positive energy salute both keeping it competitive
This is going to be one bitter rivalry and Noah just started it with that interview for sure.
Ghetto behavior
Nah knighton was talking smack before this race so lyles had to humble him. No matter the end result thou this will make ‘em both train harder so I’m here for it
@@seraiahbruno243 what was he saying before the race?
@@kunkunaku it has nothing to do with being ghetto and everything to do with being competitive.
Knighton will have the last laugh(s). Trust me!
I knew when he says he ain't finish there would be a great rivalry with the two youngsters
People forget Knighton said he wasn’t worried about the reigning world champ the day before this race, lyles paid those kind words back and then some 😁
If you watched the interview, it wasn't in that context. He said he was focused on self. Folks always creating controversy. It's a healthy rivalry of mutual respect. He wasn't dissing Lyles and Lyles wasn't dissing him.
Knighton wants to win, but he's not a sore loser. He talked his trash by saying it's not over, never over. Mic dropped and walked off.
Did not know
Thank you
Nah that was just clickbait from the tmz of track and field
I think Erryon was more upset with Lyle's arrogance than losing the race! Noah staring down Erryon while running along side him, and then to add insult to injury, making those disrespectful comments was way too much for Erryon! I thought Noah was unprofessional in his conduct!
He displayed the kind of abysmal, nauseating arrogance that permeates the U.S society...from its 'leaders" downwards.
After all - as above so below...
No??
@@JappaKneads You have a point there 🤔 That kind of US arrogance of how they see the world! You see this arrogance in most of their films!
@@princeD1100 Exactly.
Look for this arrogance to be directed at other competing nations when the "score" between Lyles and Knighton is settled - especially by their media hosts...
Thank God for the Jamaican intervention...
Dude calm down it’s not that deep just friendly competition
It isn't disrecpectful
This is great for the sport. We Jamaicans feed off such rivalry at our championship--Elaine vs Shelly vs Sherika is mouth watering stuff for us
Need to feed off of developing your economy. Damn. Who cars about track.
@@KS-lg2qy We do
Jamaica has the Women’s 100 & 200 in the bag with those ladies!
@@ExileRadio They have poverty in the bag too.
100 will be a sweep
That finish kinda reminds me of when Usain Bolt did this to Andre De Grasse in the Rio 200m Semi-Finals in the Olympics
Bolt was more graceful
@@sansan5507 I agree
But Bolt was cruising, leading & looking at a guy whos times are nowhere near his own, he big brothered him n said "Well done little man, I see you !"
Lyles on the other hand, busted a gut in a near seasons best to come from 3 meters down to pip a guy who has a better pb then him on the line.
On face value the picture might look similar but in the real world theres no comparison.
Bolt was literally head and shoulders better than DeGrasse !!!
Mad respect to Noah Lyles, to come back from behind in the last 100m and win with 19.67 is nothing easy.
Running half a second faster than bolt can also mean he’s peaking faster than bolt , he could remain right there.
No one mentions this
Knighton doesn't even lift weights yet. Yeah maybe he is peaking but look at his frame compared to Kerley and lyles literally no strength training yet. His best is yet to come (barring an injury)
@@kylek.sweeney5439 maybe he is tho I feel at certain age all athletes start lifting weights maybe because his body is taller than lyles and Kerly that’s y he doesn’t look as muscular
@@peoplenews3296 he has said recently his coaches don't have him doing any strength training so he is not really in the gym at all
@@kylek.sweeney5439 maybe just now recently . coaches tend to stop letting their athletes lift when it’s coming closer to competition because that’s how u let them peak
This has to be the best taunt ever!!! Lol the finger point was awesome
Agreed, a real rivalry where two athletes really don't like each other would make track way bigger!
All of them are absolutely Amazing
Look closely at that final turn then the athlete's finishing poise. Experience certainly won. Control, race plan, relaxed, way longer finishing stride with the option of a higher gear.
Does anyone know the name of the spikes Lyles is wearing? The light strike ones?
Rivalry forming between these two fellas. I hope they keep it respectful and all about the run - no foolishness.
LMAO, @ fred response. the tension was thick!
Major mistak by Lyles! Knighton is only 18. He will punish Lyles for this for the next 5 + years. It's on...
SUPER MAJOR! He just woke up a monster smh
Facts! This kid just finished high school and giving grown men the blues. This kid is the lebron James of track and field.
Not this year
Not this year facts
The youngster is growing up just fine. Great going to all of them.
He’s going to beat Noah in the worlds. He ran that race wrong and still almost won.
Can you explain how he ran wrong? I honestly want to know how
Noah can run a better turn though...so, Knighton better put on his big boy pants to beat him.
Lyles top end speed is second to no one. Lets see how it plays out in the worlds but my money on Noah Lyles
@@WydPerky He put everything he had into the start and the turn... he didn't leave enough for the home stretch to stave off Lyles, which is Lyles strength (top end speed after the turn). I think Lyles was waiting a bit to gauge where Knighton was through the turn. Knighton exploded through that turn and opened up a solid lead though and Lyles really had to turn that up. That gave Lyles the benefit of seeing his target while Knighton had no idea where Lyles was until it was too late. That finger point was cold though, that's confidence.
Agreed, he starred to tighten up coming off the turn and drifted wide in his running lane. You could also see him stiffening up 120 meters into the race as a result. He has to learn to trust his start and relax going into the turn, instead of going all out the first 100 meters...he just flamed out at the end.
Knight needs to now work on his last 50, he tightened from 150, didn't know how to handle the pressure?.... Lyle's very happy he pulled this back....but the young Knight looks like he can beat all these guys...
I don't think the issue is his last 50m but rather his execution... he ran the first half really fast, didn't float through 120m. Trying to run a flat out 200m will definitely hurt your last 50m
“It’s never finished!”
-Erriyon Knighton
Proud of you Knight….great things ahead for young man.🏃🏾🏃🏾🏃🏾🏃🏾🏃🏾🏃🏾🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🎖🎖🎖🎖
Love the competitiveness...i just hope it does not turn into any kind of damaging drama overall. Serious talent right here.
Knighton went all out the 150m then crippled . Lack of experience. If he could adjust his run for the worlds , I have no doubts he can win.
😬
Noah Lyles Just messed up. He should've stayed humble .. Erriyon is never going to lose to him again. MARK MY WORDS. He just activated a young lion who's always been humble on camera. Erriyon Said Just come bacc and win the world title IT'S NOT FINISHED . IM NEVER FINISHED! Let all of us just THank Noah Lyles for what he's done. We're going to See Knighton Run a 19.3 this year
He did that for the other athlete to push himself just HUSH
Knighton has the potential to be Usain Bolt like… but his body is still immature. Realistically he’s still 2-3 years away from fully developing and consistently putting up elite times. Once his body matures though as he gets more international final experience he’ll be unstoppable. Right now though, Lyles is the deserved favorite in any 200m field.
@@DPMixing deserved yes but you would think coming from a person who was suffering from depression he would be a bit more humble. You should most definitely celebrate yourself but to Taunt someone who hasn't taunted you is borderline bullyish. He's trying to attacc Erriyon mentally. Hurt people Hurt People. Fortunately I can tell that Erriyon Is mentally Tough and has a great coach. Lyles feel people doubted him. That's not what it was people took notice of what Erriyon was doing. That's all. So basically Lyles with all his antics wants the spotlight and that's fine. That's all it is... He's attention craved
@@ItsCertified Don’t disagree with anything you said. I think in the back of his head Lyles probably feels slightly intimidate by Erryion’s potential. I think he knows it’s only a matter of time until Erryion hits his full potential. And on the trajectory Knighton is on now, even for someone like Lyles who is a top 5 all-time 200m sprinter. Knighton is going to be better. Erryion’s doing things that even Lyles couldn’t do at the same stage of development like qualifying for the Olympics and finishing 4th in the final. Taking down Bolt’s age group world record. Signing major pro contracts before even finishing high school. I think Lyles is overcompensating because he knows he the clock is ticking and he wants as much limelight as he can get right now.
@@ItsCertified holy shit you were wrong😂 knighton got 3rd and you are right we did a 19.3 but it was from lyles lol
Keeping it real, Knighton has just smoked the Olympic silver medalists from the 100 & 200 last year & got caught on the line by the reigning World Champion.
Was it really a loss ?

Congrats to Matt B on making the final. That view at the end showed he is in the realm of a first tier world champion sprinter, however, he was in the 2nd group of 3 trailing the top 3 and clearly not equal in stamina. Noah Lyles might have got the best of Erriyon Knighton in this race.... But I put my money on Erriyon Knighton. He has run a 19.49... That is faster than any time that Noah Lyles has run in the 200...But It's great to see a rivalry like this one... I think they will both motivate each other to run faster times.... GO USA...
Ya this take was not it. He barely run faster Noah had run a 19.50 into a negative wind which is easily faster than 19.49 with wind at your back. Plus Noah just ran the the American record 19.31. Put respect on his name.
