Which car has the right of way? Understand and Resolve this common Right-of-way driving rule
Вставка
- Опубліковано 18 бер 2023
- On an uncontrolled 4-way intersection, the general right of way rule to follow is the "first come, first served" principle. This means that the first vehicle to reach the intersection has the right of way, and other vehicles should yield to it. If multiple vehicles arrive at the same time, the right of way should be given to the vehicle on the right. However, it's important to use caution and common sense to avoid collisions and communicate with other drivers to prevent confusion. It's always better to yield the right of way than to risk a collision.

That’s why I try to slow down before getting to the intersection if I see another car will arrive at the same time so he can go first.
Yes that is most people do at intersections, let us keep doing it together.
thank you sir because there some absolute dunce on the road that dont understand the basic of right of way the other this mf was yelling at me because i went ahead of him at the intersection not only was he on my left i also arrived first at the intersection
Me to.
that was not the question; it was a code question; the code says, car to the right goes first; so the order is letter C
I do the same thing and yet even though the other person gets to the intersection before me sometimes they still wait until I reach the intersection and then just sit there staring at me.
Right on right goes first. Light blue next, then red. On left turns, who ever is to your right, goes first.
Fact: when this happens in my town no one goes. It becomes a standoff of "you go. No, you go. You go ahead. No, you go ahead" and no one goes anywhere for a while.
Are you from Canada?

In a real world situation, the more aggressive driver goes first👻🙌✅😁🍴
You don’t know International rules
🤣
Option C. green has the right of way.
To add to answer C, the Green car is turning into its own lane, where as the others are crossing other lanes.... so the Green car would have gone first anyway... regardless.
How would any car know where the other is going prior to any movement? I think that's the point being made here.
@@louieo3 fair however for test taking purposes if you didn’t want that to be a factor, then you wouldn’t add it because it’s completely irrelevant.
I think whoever is on the right side of the driver has the right of way
yup but not alot of people understand that
Thats funny because there are two cars on someone right side so what happens if all three get there at exacrly the same time?
If you are in california, everyone just sits there confused.
isn't it whoever stops first?😂
@@raykupal yes but it’s what if everyone stops at the same time
@@DxModel219 Scotty Kilmer said "rev up your engines!!!"😁
Easy mnemonic, right is always right.
Yep, and if you're left, you go last. 😊
galing mo Sir colours of the cars thank you COLOUR BLINDED corrected by TRUCK LIGHT especially COURTESY on ROADS
Don't go by order of arrival drivers in USA dgaf. The green car goes first even if you are first at the stop sign as the blue car and he got there last. Since cars will not care to stop. Most drivers just do a roll stop / keep going anyway. Then you let the red car go because he's ready to cut you off. So to save an accident you wait last as the blue car. Unless the red car flashes his lights at you saying go. Also, if there is another car behind the green car proceed with caution because he too will try to cut you off. Even if there are 3 cars in number 1 lane wait / proceed slow asf because each one is ready to floor it. Always assume people in the 1st lane are jerks epically BMW driver/ young people.
Yeah, I HATE when someone arrives as a second car on one of the four sides & then they skip ahead. If there are 4 cars arriving at the same time, a car at the next level does not get to go before any of those four cars! 😬
Green goes first being on the right side of the driver as the traffic rules directed. Then light blue then last red car.
You are wright. This is call the right hand rule and in Romania/ Europa is basic. Here not to many know about this. I am living in Canada. Confusing a little.
In some states nobody.every must proceed with extreme caution.
THE ONE WHO ‘S MAKING A RIGHT TURN!
that is because the right goes first, then, then the blue; for is to the right of the red.
So wrong.
Irrelevant. Position dictates. Movement is not a factor.
@@jackfrost8439 because is a 4 way stop, correct
Option C
Got it correct!
Thank you.
Fantastic
As a general rule in many countries, layed down by traffic authorities, is that the first car or vehicle arrives at the junction first is the one that had the right of way.
But. The scenario said they arrived at the same time. First becomes irrelevant.
The though rules of right away are clear... in the real world, who arrived at the intersection first is subjective (e.g., individual interpretation, full stop vs slow creep), and unless a cop is on scene, there is no referee to police who's right and wrong. Therefore, it's often the most aggressive driver that goes first.
Answer g the pedstrian that arrived 30 seconds into the 3 drivers trying to remember who has right of way.
In my town at least one driver would lay on the horn and never slow down
Thanks.
Nice Video. How will the situation change if we have cars in all the 4 directions. There will be cars to the right side for everyone.
In California, largest (unless a semi, they always sacrifice ROW), Most expensive (Mercs, Teslas…), ugliest POS go last. Road Rage always an option if you get butthurt after losing your ROW!
Green and blue
Green one
In the UK, though driving on opposite sides, its got to be green!
They're not driving on the left so in a different country from the UK. We'd probably have a mini-roundabout where the car on the right has priority but usually you need a more assertive driver to just go and others take their lead from them.
Hermann Munster once said "it's the guy with the stronger vehicle".
The option (C)
Got it correct ... Illinois rule evidently the same as California's.
Can you please explain that the reason you aren't allowed to take a right on red?
Only when the right turn is onto a federal highway 🦉
Where are you from because you can in my state unless it's marked that you can't.
@@kslick4048 it's a federal law, you can't take a right on red onto a federal highway.
Where are you from Slick 🤠
@@curtisbrown5939 n.j. and I don't remember seeing it anywhere but I could be wrong.
@@kslick4048 fair enough
Right of way . Obviously the green car
I always pay attention BEFORE I get to the intersection. That way I'm not trying to figure it out when I'm there.
Omg..the green color car off course!
What happens if 4 cars arrived at the 4 stop signs at the same time?
The one with the baseball bat.
C is the correct answer
3
I dont know what the law says, BUT, when the car across from me, crosses, I cross the intersection with him.
This speeds up the flow of traffic. ALSO, if there is someone next to you in the next lane, cross together. Again,
to speed up the flow of traffic.
!
What if there were 4 cars on each lane, all turning right?
There would be no interference, so it would not matter and be uncontested.
They would all turn simultaneously lol 😂
All will have right of way right away!
Back in the early 60's as a child I was taught the car on your right has the right of way. But that was when SCHOOL was a SCHOOL.
Green red blue
Driver going right goes first, that’s why they call it right of way.😂😂
All three have the right of way esp. among stubborn drivers.
The Green has the right to turn first
Give way to the right
Red One goes first... the Green one is facing an oncoming Red Car which forces it to stop becoz you're not allow to turn right in front of an oncoming.
Red -> Green -> then Blue one last
Option B
The green one, blue red
C is correct
Right turn has the right all the time !!!!
What country??
What about a scenario where the green car wants to go straight or left?
At our country Lebanon there different ways, at North part they get out of cars and play cards, the 2 winners pass first, but at Beirut city the best one with heaviest Gun machines pass first and others follow as per their type holding guns, until at end usually last driver passing the traffic signal who is UnArmed one or the peaceful-guy...
Welcome to Lebanon. lol
Just for joking
The car that arrived at the junction first; as long as there is no stop sign ar either junction.
Green,blue & red car!
Most optimal is actually green, red, then blue.
Ive seen those with the right of way force a crash out of principle.
Green
Isn't it also true that the person turning right has priority over anyone turning left?
I learned in 1987, while taking my driver's test, if you're going left, you go last. That's why I chose green to go first. Of course, the way many people drive, if you're the one running late, you go first. 😂 That's why I always wait a little longer, and then creep when I start. I'm never late, and I'd rather be safe. There have been times where I avoided arriving at the intersection at the same time by not braking until the last second. Then I would make it first, and proceed to make my turn. You still have to make sure no one is going to run the stop sign.
Never running lat is called time management. Too many modern drivers can't plane for unfortunate things like traffic being heavier than usual (rush hour traffic) traffic lights failing or any number of other factors that can and will impact on your journey time. If I'm travelling in rush hour I always allow double the time the journey normally takes.
Turning left goes last? Both the blue and the red car are turning left. Also just because someone’s turn signal is indicating a left turn, does not mean they are aware that their turn signal is on. The car to the right goes first. One rule, no confusion.
This image only works countries that drive on the right (USA, France, Germany, Brazil). The opposite applies in countries that drive on the left (UK, Australia, India, Japan).
The person turning to the right !!
Makes no difference if it making a right, left, or going straight, the car on the right has the right of way.
Right
Green, blue, red
clockwise after 1st
The green car ( going right turn ..…..if there is no sign....no right on red )
I think the green first
I wish people followed it.
In practice it will be the person with the biggest, jacked up pickup first.
Green
C
C is the answer because of the way narrator speaks.
Green , blue , Red.., the right allway
None of them, they're all on the wrong side of the road. 😂
What if a fourth car appears?
👍👍👍
In an uncontrolled intersection the car on the right has the right of way. In this case the green car goes first , then the blue car and finally the red car.
Shouldn't a 4-way intersection have at least 2 Stop-signs?
Green n blue red
The green
Gr, blue red
I would have went with Green Red Blue.

It depends on who gets to the intersection first.
(b) blue red green

If it's a 4 way stop the cars move in the order in which they arrived at the stop signs.

Not sure if this applies in Europe,
True - but you missed the assumption that they all arrived at the same time.
