    Thanks mate, great videos, what is most impressive is the calm in the cockpit, IFR to minimums and family laughing about M&N's ...... outstanding and another perfect centreline landing ........... you should perhaps do this for a living! LOL! wtrof Oz [Citabria driver YSCN].

    Love the video. I just got a chance to fly new SLING HW in South Africa. Now to fly the Sling TSI to make my decision!

    Yes! Yes! Yes! Keep posting! I am wrapping wing assembly on my Sling TSi and moving to fuselage in a few weeks. Your videos help me stay motivated.

    This is great. Is there a private (unpublished?) approach for this airport? I couldn't find it in my Foreflight. And, didn't see any approach plate on your screens. How do you shoot the RNAV? Thanks

      @OneAlphaMike  Рік тому +1

      Yes, it's a private approach. It took months to get the FAA approval to fly it, then more months to get Garmin to put it in my database. ForeFlight would not put it in my database, but I do have a PDF of the plate on my iPad. I use the PDF to brief myself on the approach, then load it on my Garmin panel. All the fixes and step-down altitudes are in the Garmin database. I just have to set the minimums from the PDF and fly it!

    I would like to talk to you about your build. Why did you pick Evan. I am also considering the TSI. In Nashville currently flying a C210.

      The recent article about my plane build in EAA's Sport Aviation magazine covers this quite well: sportaviation.mydigitalpublication.com/publication/?i=788440&p=120&l=&m=53731&ver=&view=&pp=&article_id=

      Works for me. You'll need to be an EAA member to login.

    OneAlphaMike, at 9:59 your Sling TSI is at 4000 MSL, 80% power, 36.3 inches of manifold pressure, 5460 RPMs, and your airspeed in the TSI is 145 knots true airspeeed, indicated airspeed is 135 knots. I know you have checked your airspeed for accuracy and I think you have stated it indicates 3 knots fast in cruise and indicates 7 knots fast close to stall speed. In Pilot Bambi's video "Extreme Crosswind Landing in GREECE 🇬🇷 - Long Way South E03" at 4:08 in her video, she is at 6500 MSL, 80% power, 36.5 inches of manifold pressure, 5460 RPMs, and the airspeed is only 115 knots true airspeed, and indicated airspeed of 103 knots in the Sling High Wing with the same engine and propeller you have. Is there really that much descrepancy in performance between the Sling High Wing and Sling TSI? Am I missing something here? I am a retired Southwest pilot and think the High Wing would be easier to get into and have better shade in the Georgia heat. But 27 to 30 knots less cruise speed is just unacceptable, and these numbers put the High Wing in the cruise speed of the C172 and Piper Archer. I know Slingaircraft.com list the TSI cruise at 148 TAS and the High Wing at 144 TAS. But, that is not what I am seeing in videos. Your thoughts on the cruise speed difference to be expected between a TSI and a High Wing would be appreciated.

      Yeah, a bunch of us TSi owners also noticed in the Pilot Bambi videos that the HW seems to be considerably slower. Depending on the screen shot, I saw anywhere between 12 knots and 26 knots slower. I know it’s a heavier plane, maybe a bit wider cabin and not as aerodynamically clean. On the other hand, that plane was a prototype, so maybe they’ve improved things somewhat in the production models. One thing is for sure, they shouldn’t be claiming it’s within a few knots of the TSi, because it’s certainly not.

    If you have to do another panel, what would you change and why?

    • @OneAlphaMike

      I honestly think I would not change a thing!
