I have to give them props on the selection of the Greenworks batteries. I have had the 40V system since 2014. I have most of the tool line-up and have used them hard. I have had no issues at all and both of my packs seem to work as they did when new. They are very well made and designed and give consistent power. Given the power they have in my 19" rotary mower, I doubt they'll have any issues here. My trimmer (I have the premium one with the motor near the handle and interchangeable shaft extensions) is extremely good and even ran a roto-tiller attachment with no complaints. The 16" chainsaw is also an incredible tool...probably the most premium tool they make. There are more powerful battery tools now (I have a 100V snowjoe blower), but for most tasks, the Greenworks 40V line is exceptional.
Please release a 25 inch or 21 inch liberty battery powered mower for US market. 17 inch one is bit small to compet with swardwan..also price it aggressively.
That you’re using a conventional battery means everything to me as a pragmatist. The ability to find replacements is everything to someone buying for the long term. Your only competitor in the US uses a proprietary battery that is stored inside the handle so changing out batteries when one runs down isn’t a possibility and requires that the machine be plugged in. Furthermore when the battery finally goes it must be ordered and waited for while the Allett battery is widely available. Presently I’ve got a manual Hudson Star reel mower which is lovely but I’m aging and will want a powered mower soon and the Liberty is the one.
I want to avoid stripes on my lawn. Should I make sure I start at the same end of my lawn so stripes don’t happen? Or will mowing at a certain height help avoid stripes?
Will you guys ever make a 20inch model or shall I say a Liberty 50? I’m in the states and our lawns are pretty big. I’m trying to decide between the Allett Liberty or Swardman Electra.
It depends how much you mow. We recommend doing the paper test regularly. If your cylinder isn't cutting paper cleanly you may need to adjust the blades/sharpen. We recommend the greenworks batteries for the Liberty. We personally haven't tried the Swift battery
Will there be a larger version not this coming out any time soon? My garden is 560sqm and would love to use a battery powered reel mower although it also needs to have a fairly wide cutting path so I'm not in trouble for spending ages sorting the garden. 😬
Really would like one of these but the cost in Sweden is twice what you would pay in the UK and for that you dont even get a battery or charger, the batter and charger cost an extra 450 pounds. Dont mind paying more for a good product, especially if you are a lawn nut like me, but that overpricing is just ridiculous.... If you would ever want to add different cartridges, then the price difference becomes even more horrifying. It's almost as if you dont want people to buy your products, for home owners its just not worth 4000 pounds....
I cannot get the reel to be both cutting paper and not scrapping the edge of the cartridge. Even took it to a supplier (had to have the reel sharpened £110). I have to side with not have a scrapping metal sound. Also why do you supply the other cartridges for this model and then state in the leaflet that use of will invalidate the warranty?
Hi Debra I will look into the leaflet. I’m not sure why it says that. We do only suggest the scarifier cartridge for the liberty 30 and 35 because of the fact you’ve only got pre-set heights of cut and you need precision for most cartridges - however you CAN fit them and use them but you wouldn’t get the benefit of the cartridges
It just blows my mind how expensive these mowers are compared to actual material, parts etc. Compared to a $400 push mower. It's obvious the reel is the difference to a rotary mower but is it really a 15 to $2000 difference? I realize Allett is unique to its cartridge system but I don't understand why these well known mower companies can't produce a reasonable residential home reel mower under $800.

When are you going to make this model take all attachments the 43 is too big for me only have 60sq m but I want the verticut cartridge for the KBG

Why is it so difficult to remove the cartridge when compared to a 35s petrol? They’re both driven by belts.
