I visited E-earfone yesterday because of this video....the place is amazing. I wanted to replace my very old Shure SE425s so being able to test all those IEMs was very cool as I felt confident to buy after many many "listens". I wanted to share 3 points so others can also enjoy this store.... 1. One of the staff spoke great English so you don't need a translator like Hanrio 2. You can ask to borrow a usbc/lightning to 3.5mm cable from the payment counter (3rd floor) so you can stay hours to listen to IEMs, and 3. They can do tax free so bring your passport and enjoy 10%off!!!! (I walked away with a Seinnie IE600 and BTR5). Brilliant shop!

I ended up on this video while trying to find earphones stores in the USA like they have in Japan. I love your coverage and will definitely subscribe!
When I lived in Japan I would go into these specialty stores in Tokyo that would make headphone cables for earbuds in store; they would also clean and repair headphones or earbuds. Now I'm looking for something similar in the USA and don't even know how to narrow in on a search term. If you know of shops that are similar, please share.

I have 4 days in Tokyo in February... My wife might hate me for wasting an afternoon in this store but she won't stop me!
I spent 4 hours in the store in Tokyo and a further two hours in the store in Osaka. I tried so many affordable and endgame Headphones, IEM's and amplifiers I would have never gotten the chance to try in real life. Literally a theme park for your ears. Can't recommend this store enough (and not to mention the prices aren't bad compared to Australia's)!

I bought some Arias from your recommendation of value the other day. It blew my mind. The quality of the materials and the fit being so clean, on top of the passive noise cancelling and perfect sound for my taste, all for the price - you are an audio prometheus. I cannot recommend them enough.

Can you please make a video over the LG Tone T90Q? I am curious what you feel about them and there is a lot to talk about them. Also a way to correct the heavy bass sound signature to sound more like the Galaxy buds pro 2. I have them and I am having a hard time getting them at the Harman Curve without them sounding off.

I think the Norn on display at e-earphone is broken. I never heard another pair, but the one they have (or had a couple of weeks ago) there sounds like only a single (HF) BA driver was working...

Is there some style the Japanese tuning is trying to match? If such a majority of the gear is being set to this kind of "standard" then perhaps there is some type of trend or mastering it's attempting to match in turn?

I made huuuge mistake entering E-earphone and going straight to the UM / Fitear section on my first day in Tokyo (2015 back then it's on their first floor IIRC) and demo the flagship. got nervous I might blow away my fund and run away LOL. On my last day I went to Fujiya Avic and thats more tolerable experience IMO

Holy wow there are many earphones sold. Most of the brands I've never even heard of.
The IEMs you showed at 17:58 have an old logo of the K-pop group Dreamcatcher on them lol. They definitely didn't get permission to use it. Looking at product photos it looks like they changed it at some point. Wonder if the entertainment company sent them a cease and desist lol.
About reviewing the non-interesting ones. Having a list saying you've heard them and they're whatever/fine would be helpful still.

Audio retail was dying here even before C-V. If I want any upgrades, I order online. The few shops in existence are boutiques for the rich and by appointment. I estimate they are in general a few hundred sq. ft size (because i have not gone in, only looking online).
I am happy at least we have two significant camera stores. They have more pro audio for production, than home/ audiophile gear.

i was there 2 weeks ago, every 5th, 15th, and 25th of the month, you get to trade in your earphone 5% higher price, and get 5% discount for getting used headphone. It is an eye opening place even for non audiophile like me

Hey crinacle, I usually just get standard in ear "earbuds" from Walmart or if I find any in my local church garage sale, from cheap wired earbuds to Skullcandy wired earbuds, and I'm wondering if there's any reason to get IEMs, as opposed to the standard earbuds with rubber tips I'm used to, and is there any reason to get a set with replaceable cable?
If there is a reason to get a set of those bulky looking (what I call IEMs) IEMs, I'm wondering what a good cheap IEM would be to get, both for general use, and possibly soundboard headphone use. I don't need anything that's hifi or anything, just overall good sound that that's good quality for cheap is all I want, and to be honest, I probably can't even afford what your idea or level of "good" cheap would be, but I'm looking for ideas so I know what price I should look for on the cheaper prices and brands in wired IEMs
1. if you want better sound quality for low price, absolutely you should get an iem
2. "bulky" is not a problem at all if you know to take care of them such as roadie wrap them and put them in a case and clean them every like once a week (or more)
3. good iem price can be as low as $20. if you want neutral sounding iem, not much bass and treble, 7hz salnotes zero is absolute blind buy. if you want something that sounds more laid back and warm(tame treble), truthear hola is also really good. and you get tangzu wan'er if you want something between both
4. iem with replaceable cable is very necessary since if your iem cable broke you can just replace it result in even longer lasting, or if stock cable sucks you can just get a better one
@@SlavJerry I get the part about the cables being detachable, which is why I specifically mentioned them as things I desire, as with normal earbuds, well, that's usually what goes wrong... Not the cable itself mind you, but either end of the cable where the plug or earbud attaches to it... If I were to get IEMs, after what little research using the crinacle channel, I was leaning towards his $50 "truthear X crinacle zero" IEM collaboration, if I ever decided to get something along those lines...
One thing I noticed, is that there seems to be 2 different plug styles, the "2pin" plug, and what I like to think of as a tiny "studio grade" barrel connector, I forget the technical name, and started wondering if there's any benefits of having one style of removable cable over another?
@@northwiebesick7136 most common connection type is 2 pin and mmcx
2 pin is mostly used due to cheap manufacturing cost and easy to connect, but also quite easy to bend or get damaged, and you might accidentally connect it incorrectly and damage the IEM. mmcx in the other hand is basically opposite of 2 pin
but over all you really don't need to worry much about it
@@SlavJerry thanks for the information... As much as I love crinacle he's not what I'd call an "introductory" audio information kinda guy, although he does simplify some stuff, so it's nice to get some basic information on IEMs

They say it sound surprisingly similiar to Sony xm4
I've tried it. It doesn't sound like a stock xm4/xm5 tuning at all but anc without wind is on par. It feels a little cheap but it's a nice v shape sound signature. Not as bass heavy as stock xm4 but after eq to make the xm4 be similar to the edifiers tuning, both sounds okay with middling details and soundstage and the edifier actually wins out with slightly better soundstage.
I'm very happy with the Dunu Kima, it's definitely "inoffensive" but I actually have no complaints with it, unlike the Arias. It will probably be my daily driver for a while

@@cferrado 7Hz Salnotes Zero is not a Crinacle collab. Do you mean he partnered without an official collab, or are you thinking of a different IEM?
I don't think we really even need a review of the 7hz zero. This new generation of 12-25$ IEMs are pretty much the same with slight variations in bass boost and warmth, so deciding between the TRN MT3, tangzu Wan'er, 7hz zero, tripowin Lea, chu, Tinhifi T1s, is mostly just personal preference and how much you want to spend in that range.

Don’t get your hopes up too much cause he ranked it much lower than the aria after relistening to it. I slightly disagree but my taste is more v shaped, which the Kima is slightly more v shaped, than his taste and in terms of technicalities I find the kinda and aria to be similar but crin don’t like them that much.
