When Slow Mobius' wife goes looking for him, its the same sequence of events as Rick in a previous season when he sets out to find rick prime. She was on the same path but found love again instead.
It does show how after losing everything and you become so jaded and nihilistic about everything, there is still hope for you in the end and it's nice that she broke the cycle of death and revenge Rick was once on which is wholesome to see.
Something I love about the opening to episode 5 is that there's no big revelation for why Evil Morty turned out that way. No catastrophe, no confrontation. One day, a Morty just decided he'd had enough of Rick's sh*t, and realized he wouldn't truly be free until he did his damndest to get as far away from the man as possible.
I feel like them ending the Rick Prime arc this early was the writers putting us in Rick's headspace of him not knowing what to do next after getting rid of his nemesis so quickly
Yup. Rick's arc isn't killing his nemesis, it's becoming a decent person. That's why he's in therapy and why he's been making actual progress. Killing Rick Prime halfway through the season is a good demonstration of how it actually doesn't solve his problems at all.
so quickly, prematurely, it took 7 seasons, several years before that arc was finished. I havent seen a "singular plot" of a show take that long to actually conclude ever
- This is the Principal's first appearance since season 3 - The gun segment is probably Morty at his dumbest. Also the Dahmer joke is that it was a gun "to shoot bad guys"
Really feels like the writing staff rewatched the first few seasons of R&M, and brought a good few things back. Sort of like Rick's "Here I go pillin' again" back in the first episode.
Season 7 episode 5 is hands down one of the show's best episodes. Im amazed they decided to have Rick finally get his revenge on Rick Prime in the season's midpoint. Seeing Rick realise how empty and dissatisfied he is at accomplishing his revenge has made him feel so haunting yet surreal to watch as you can tell Rick now has to deal with the existential internal realisation that he has no purpose after killing his nemesis and avenging his wife. Honestly, I think they ended the Rick Prime story so soon, at around the halfway point of the season, so we, the audience, could feel just as empty and dissatisfied as Rick did after. The new voice actor for Rick really delivered when it came to this episode. Also Evil Morty was such a cool inclusion in this episode. I love his character and how much of a jaded personality he has and how he perfectly bounces off our Rick as he represents everything Morty could become if he was independent agent to himself and stopped caring about Rick and his self hatred, but in a way Evil Morty is more smarter than Rick since he lacks any personal attachments. Its also a bit unerving how he barely shows emotions as he lost his happiness long ago after having to deal with Rick's BS for so long.
"Half way through the last season... then we have to wait." I've been watching since season 1. Just be glad you didn't have to wait then. A year? One and a half? Two? Three? Who freaking knew?
I believe that the song they use is meant to convey the fact that Morty the first time and Rick now, feel as though everything and everyone around them is of something else and that they don't belong in that space. For Morty it was literal, he was in an entirely new dimension that while mirroring his own everyone he grew up with including his family was in a sense "not his" and he felt isolated and distant. Now Rick feels the same way because he's finally gotten a chance to stop and look around at his surroundings and he is still going through the emotions of having no beacon or target to aim for now that he's completed his ultimate mission of vengeance, because not enough time has passed for him to feel deserving of normalcy.
Evil Morty proved why he’s the best villain in the series. Sure, he needed help to take down Rick Prime, and he isn’t the one who motivated anyone to go on a revenge-spree. But, when the dust settled, Evil Morty was the one left standing & satisfied with the result of his journey.
I really hope we get to see more of the OUTSIDE of the central finite curve and the different universes out there: it’s a really cool concept that there could be characters out there that are SMARTER than Rick.
What's your life without me?!. Let's find out!. A badass response from Rick. Also, I may be mistaken, but I believe that Uncle Slowmobius's wife was voiced by Erica Lindbeck, the voice actress for Loona in Helluva Boss.
The song at the end of episode 5, to me it means that, they now have nothing else worth living for or dying for. Morty realized that there were infinite versions of themselves dealing with insignificant day to day problems. Rick has accomplished his obsessive goal and how does one go from here? Good episode.
Something I just realized about Evil Morty… Rick said in the pilot (as an excuse to keep adventuring with him, but still) that Morty has been absorbing some smarts as a result of the adventures. And in “Vindicators III,” we do see that _our_ Morty has enough brains to disarm one of Rick’s (admittedly less-put-together due to drunkenness) neutrino bombs. So in a sense, it really was always possible that a Morty would rise above after learning enough science through the adventures, on top of understanding how Rick’s brain works to get the drop on him.
Hes credited in the end THIS was Harmon and Roilands story, i think they did this episode now to finish it out and make sure he got credit for their vision
I’d like to point out that in the guns segment Rick cured death, which he said he couldn’t do several seasons back. So either he lied or his tech has moved forward, which in hindsight I guess it actually has.
The way the mugger reacts to seeing jeffrey dummer is just so weird. Like he's not shocked or scared. He's just absolutely confused and all the new clone of Jeffrey.Dahmer can do is say hi to this guy when he questions. What he's seeking I love that. Like that is the most genuine reaction.I have ever heard in my life. There's no shock. There's no fear. There's no nothing.Just pure confusion in a moment. That does not make any sense
That first one is one of the most insane ones I love it! All the gadgets and such they fought with. I am happy Prime is dead and we got more Evil Morty, I hope this means cool stuff in the future!
A couple shows I’ve recently watched and I’d recommend are Pantheon and Scavengers Reign. They exceeded my expectations going in you should totally watch them!
Uhhhhh, the best start of the entire series. Evil mortys twist. ^^ From being a normal morty to bring Rick down in one second. The moment he bring his Rick the beer, he plan to make Rick drunk and take controle.
I feel like Episode 5 with killing Rick Prime should've been a season finale or EVEN a series finale! They shouldn't have killed him off so quickly and easily! I can't wait to see what's gonna happen next in Season 8! 🌀🛸
I disagree, the point of killing him off early was to show Rick and the audience that focusing so much on killing Prime and finally killing him wouldn’t have really changed anything. Yeah Prime is dead and can’t harm anyone anymore but Diane’s still dead and his relationship with his family, while improving, isn’t exactly ideal/healthy. He could’ve spent all that time trying to heal and move on instead it took control over his life just like Prime expected and just ended up a hollow victory.
I feel like this isn’t a true win for Rick because he spent his life tracking down Prime, only to end up practically nearly dying in battle and Evil Morty basically handed him the W on a sliver plate with minimal effort
It's wild how much rick stunts morty. So much so morty prime is threatened by evil morty. I hope as c137 grows morty prime realizes his potential as the mortiest morty.
A detail that's easy to forget is that a good chunk of that potential is gone, from the episode where the game Roy rebooted and Morty was split across all the NPCs. Rick said while those parts where dying that they're all fractions of him, and fractions add up, and by the end of that episode not only there was the Morty's Holiest war, but also Rick left a part of Morty in the game living a full life. That was certainly a big part of Morty's agency, and now that is gone. Probably it was an excuse for the writers to not develop its character too fast, or rather, put Morty through a soft regression
I think a live-action Rick and Morty feature would be a mega-hit, BUT it would undercut the animated series...drawing attention away from the series that we want to continue. Perhaps at the end of the 10th season, if the originality begins to falter.
Hay Rock things whatever you are Rick is not evil he is just disgustingly negligent pretty much most of the terrible things he does is called by accident and if it's not by accident is by laziness he has more than a capability to fix it but he never borders to have you asked me a more accurate term I think I would say chaotic neutral he can indeed be evil tell me when he tries he definitely does pull it off but he never does anything I have true desire of evil that just ends up being the end result So yeah say hello to the sin of negligence Rick AKA D.E.R.E.L.I.C.T. Why did I get from this title because when we be negligent let's just say that at the worst and it could probably end our planet but and more controlled circumstances religious say that we will get a building destroyer or two when rigby's negligent if not completely drunk say bye-bye to a Galaxy or 2 if not a universe or everything that was Rick going back to his original universe the fact that he made every day the same day and what not that was a different level of negligence if not straight up spite I mean if you wanted to be a little on the original you call him a glorified version of the sin of sloth butt I'm going to go with derelict because it's more creative and not to mention come on this name sounds like the name of the scientist Oh yeah you're wondering about Morty I'm going to say chaotic good Why chaotic are you guys ready or not we will end up directly or indirectly causing some great tragedy that threatens either the universe or whatever planet he's on pretty much every episode that he tries to do good but it backfires horrifically and that is a good segue to my second part of the term good at least Morty tries to do good even if it does backfire freaking badly light bro how do you accidentally managed to make a whole entire culture's history hate you and literally make you the devil and new flash to everyone in the world he literally only wanted beer but no he had to become the catalyst to a whole freaking religion if not a entire separate series plotline villain On complete accident so yeah he earns his chaotic status and he does earn his good status
Man, this episode really showcases how inferior Harry Belden's Morty voice is when compared to Juistin Roiland. Justin never made Morty sound aggravatingly annoying, Belden does it constantly.
Hey! I just wanted to warn you. Some very nasty word I can't use here youtube channel leaked information on season 2 of Hazbin Hotel. Be ware your recommendation. I domt want others to fall prey to it. My youtube auto played it and before I could click off, I got more information spoiled than I wished to know.... So I'm saying this here and in other reaction channels for yall to know. Please, spread the word if you will!
.... did.... did you not watch the episode 😂 he was the the winner of nearly every encounter, sure he made wrong guesses but he also kept outsmarting everyone regardless.... he's basically OUR rick 😂
I feel like the Evil Morty arc was the last storyline Justin Roiland wrote, as thats why his name was still there. Honestly R&M has not been the same since he stopped contributing, despite what haters say. Also fuck cancel culture, ruined yet another honest mans career
When Slow Mobius' wife goes looking for him, its the same sequence of events as Rick in a previous season when he sets out to find rick prime. She was on the same path but found love again instead.

It made me so sad for Rick - this is literally what he could have had (even with Unity or something)...
So essentially the ending is like a what if scenario if Rick had managed to find someone else, move on and heal
Are you one of the people who think you need a high iq to get this show?
Something I love about the opening to episode 5 is that there's no big revelation for why Evil Morty turned out that way. No catastrophe, no confrontation. One day, a Morty just decided he'd had enough of Rick's sh*t, and realized he wouldn't truly be free until he did his damndest to get as far away from the man as possible.
Like Evil Morty said, he's considered evil because he's not following RIck like a puppy anymore.
Oh god that makes so much sense. I just thought they ended his story prematurely you know? I was very shocked by it.
so quickly, prematurely, it took 7 seasons, several years before that arc was finished. I havent seen a "singular plot" of a show take that long to actually conclude ever
@@camh3429try one piece
@ Rigby's whole character arc in Regular Show was longer by like 30 episodes
- This is the Principal's first appearance since season 3
- The gun segment is probably Morty at his dumbest. Also the Dahmer joke is that it was a gun "to shoot bad guys"

Brother from another mother Samuel, I couldn't have say it better.
4:40 I appreciate how Boom was the one who laughed at the fat joke.
"Half way through the last season... then we have to wait." I've been watching since season 1. Just be glad you didn't have to wait then. A year? One and a half? Two? Three? Who freaking knew?

21:05 I think what's more impressive is not a gun that can shoot Jeffrey Dahmer clones but the fact that Morty managed to get a date with Jessica
22:22 It's also from "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou", with Morty wearing a Steve Zissou hat.
I really hope we get to see more of the OUTSIDE of the central finite curve and the different universes out there: it’s a really cool concept that there could be characters out there that are SMARTER than Rick.
Or just as smart. Really depends on how smartness and intelligence is depicted in this series
What's your life without me?!.
Let's find out!.
A badass response from Rick.
Also, I may be mistaken, but I believe that Uncle Slowmobius's wife was voiced by Erica Lindbeck, the voice actress for Loona in Helluva Boss.
Besides... who would you be without me, Prime?
Optimus: Time to find out.
typa vibe

Rick gave Rick prime the beating of his life or end of life I should say
24:01 that ending reminded me of Jerry not knowing what hookers look like for some reason.
6:09 Rick Prime is the new Mr Nimbus confirmed
Incase you guys didn’t get the final gun joke, it shoots BAD people. Really bad people.
Something I just realized about Evil Morty… Rick said in the pilot (as an excuse to keep adventuring with him, but still) that Morty has been absorbing some smarts as a result of the adventures. "WHAT'S A WESTERN BACON"?!?!
I think leg\arm swap during the fight is a potential loophole to bring back Rick Prime as a virus in "Dead Wife" Rick's body just in case.
15:56
OMG! Y'all got a shoutout!! 😂
"Knock yourself out"
Rick C137 literally knocks Rick Prime to death

11:30 wow old promo
11:10 That just show you that nobody can be like rick
Great reaction!

16:00 I don’t know why, but I thought Billy was apart of the episode

I mean if you wanted to be a little on the original you call him a glorified version of the sin of sloth butt I'm going to go with derelict because it's more creative and not to mention come on this name sounds like the name of the scientist
Oh yeah you're wondering about Morty I'm going to say chaotic good
Why chaotic are you guys ready or not we will end up directly or indirectly causing some great tragedy that threatens either the universe or whatever planet he's on pretty much every episode that he tries to do good but it backfires horrifically and that is a good segue to my second part of the term good at least Morty tries to do good even if it does backfire freaking badly light bro how do you accidentally managed to make a whole entire culture's history hate you and literally make you the devil and new flash to everyone in the world he literally only wanted beer but no he had to become the catalyst to a whole freaking religion if not a entire separate series plotline villain
