As someone who currently goes to a school right next door. It is a difficult topic to talk about but I do want to say rest in peace to everyone of the victims

It’s a shame that he didn’t get a life sentence and that now because of him Westglades and Marjory and nearby schools are constantly going under different codes because of threats
I went to a school in Coral Springs (the city directly across) at the time of the shooting, and my cousin went there. Watching the insane amount of emergency vehicles from the surrounding areas speeding by was one of the most shocking things I’ve ever seen. Originally me and my friends thought it was a fire, or maybe even a large car accident. Once we found out about the news everything changed. No one I knew went to school for the next week. I still live in CS, and the memory still remains. We have a mural inside of our school cafeteria commemorating them.
I remember that day I was at a couple miles away from Douglas and shit was going crazy school just stopped and everyone was just on their phones and and looking at their snaps and seeing how awful it was
I was in 4th grade when this happened. It occurred a bit after 12 as I remember being home by the time I heard about it, and my s hook released us at 2:10 I believe, whilst msd is released at 2:40. I now attend msd and it is still very sad to think about the event and I don’t know a single person who doesn’t remember that day and what they were doing when they heard.
I’m always so sad to see these it always hurts me this actually almost happened to me but in a airport which I was so lucky and grateful I hope they rest in peace 😢😢😢😢
Today my school was evacuated for a bomb threat. Thankfully, the k-9s didn't find anything, but my stuff is still locked away in a classroom. It is insane that this stuff still happens.
This recently happened near me I’m in middle school and it was in a high school less than 10 minutes away from me. But thank goodness no one was killed in the shooting so that was good but when we got the news we were very scared because we new a bunch of people that go there and was a sad time because people commuted the unthinkable because of it
There was a park built for Meadow I remember when that happened I was in the 5th grade and I was at the Walmart near that school and I just see a bunch of kids running in. My mom grabbed me and we left. I don’t live near Douglas anymore I moved to a whole different state but it was traumatized to a lot of people
I was in an elementary school very close by and I think I was in kindergarten when this happened. It was very scary. My brother’s friends sister died in it. Hee name was Alyssa . Rip

I had a chance to see my friend for a sleepover but I had made plans with some other friends but I was only hanging around with them for Popularity and he sadly killed his self 😭 I take all this vary seriously
This is so sad and now so many kids think it’s cool to do this because of a movie like one year ago a kid decided to say he was going to take a gun to my school and he almost took it but they arrested him and afterwards to avenge him his friends were going to take a backpack to school since backpacks weren’t allowed because of the gun incident and the office was taking them away so he would put a bomb in it to blow up the school. It’s scary to think that it could have happened to me, half of the school didn’t go and a lot of us were left alone. I hope this never happens to anyone because it is truly heartbreaking.😢
