Hard to believe that movie was made thirty-seven years ago, which would be because I saw that movie so much in the late 80s and early nineties that it always seems so fresh. Man, what a great time for movies. Also, I believe we're lucky that they didn't film at the WTC. Trying to revisit those sites would likely bring up unwanted memories.
I found the gozer building by remembering that Janine said that Louis lived on “Central Park West.” So I walked all along CPW and found it bc of the church. At first I thought I had to be wrong bc the real building is so much smaller.
@jlyon1515 When i went to new york last november and february i saw the Gozar Biilding, New York public Library ad the runnining ghost from GB 2 river by acsident. ps New York public library is 2 blocks away from times sqare and near the crystler bilding.

3:24 is not from the movie. The interior scenes of the museum were shot in Burbank, Peter McNicol told me once.

It is curious how they made that building much taller just by using matte painting, if I recall correctly.

So all building are there, they just changed the top of one, adding floors to a shorter real building to create the semi fictional one in the movie.
