This is a wonderful video. One of my favorite fishing videos of all time. Guys catching dinks and then getting into quality fish, but you can tell that was really the point. Beautifully shot and edited. Wow. Wish I could give it a hundred likes.
Thanks for taking me along! It looks like nothing has changed in 40 some years as it should. I have to get back some day before its to late for me. Peace
Really liked the video! I was wondering what kind of bug the big grey one was, my dad and I are going on a trip up there in a couple of days and I was wondering if it was something that we should be watching out for or not! Thanks :)
Have went to North Temperance thru Brule. Island site was great! Fishing was tough in late fall. post turnover. eyes should be busy. find running water and fish it if you can!
I’m going second week of June. Will be my first trip to boundary waters. Have Ned rigs, plenty of plastics and lures. Also gonna pick up lots of leeches. Any tips are welcome. Gonna be fishing Disappointment and other lakes near it.
Topwater bass fishing can be great up there. Early June they are spawning right next to shore. Next trip bring a half dozen Rebel teeny pop R lures and grind down the barbs for easy release. Maybe from your thumb
Loved your video. Nice job with the photography and you definitely deserve more subscribers. I’m just curious how you managed your leeches and what you used to contain them while in the canoe.
Thanks David! We bring the leeches in pumped with air packed on the frozen steaks we eat on night 1. After we arrive they get moved to a leech bag and kept in the lake water. They do great the whole trip. We bring a pound, sometimes 2. Any plastic jar with a screw lid works for day use. We use powdered gatorade jars. Just keep the water fresh. They last all day and then some.
Day 4 was entertaining as you guys filled up on wine throughout the day and started dropping more and more fish, then got tail whipped by one too, hilarious! What kind of fish finder are you using there? how many times did you have to charge it or what was the power source?
Big question! We bring in leeches and fish them with jigheads. Scented plastics are also effective. Trolling with spoons and raps great for pike and eyes. Smallies hit on all of it. Depends on your target. walleyes the best meal up there.
Hey man, great video! I noticed you had a fish Finder. Do you mind me asking what kind and also, what battery did you bring to power it and how did you keep it charged? Thanks
If you ever go back from your camo site go left around the bend when you get to the small island start trolling to the rapids and you will be rewarded with something bigger than 28
Still cringing Fish handling. I did not like it. needs to be better. Those fish are out of the water too long! the delayed hooking mortality is high when out of water so long. Why do it?. Especially when they are dropped 3 feet and hit the bottom of the canoe. Those injuries sustained are not reversible. The sunfish near the end is just really really hard to watch.

Appreciated John!
An hour well spent. Thank you.
Thanks Ken!! A trip well spent too
One of the uploads I look forward to the most every year!
Thanks Brandon! This trip was a steady stream of great fishing. Could barely sleep!

Spank'n them walleyes! I learned a thing or two. Nicely done guys. I respect your style from one outdoorsman to another.
Much appreciated. See you on the water!

Glad to have you Eric. Such a timeless place!
Great video. Love this place.
Thanks Kyle!
Beautiful smallmouth!!
Great video of the journey guys. Looks like it was an awesome trip.
Appreciated! Fun to have this for winter viewing :)
What was the date of your trip.
Next trip go June 1st and do topwater right next to shore.
There are 13 ways a smallmouth can hit a topwater lure
Those big walleyes can actually be scooped up by sliding your hand under there belly. They stay pretty calm
Awesome! I’d love to visit this place one day. Maybe this summer lol
Please do! Hard to describe or capture on film. Unreal place.
It was great meeting you guys on Malberg Lake this June. I hope you guys had a great rest of your trip!
hey ryan!! Hope you did too. great trip indeed! stay tuned..
I thought i was watching a episode on National Geographic! Nice filming Pete! And Nice Edit Greg!
HA! Thanks a bunch! Scenery does all of the heavy lifting up there.
Man do I miss the north country! Have to get back up to the Echo trail, lake Meander specifically. I have a 40 acre granite mountain waiting for me!
don't delay! winter approaches..
Awesome video, LOVE the hat, you don't look old enough to remember LotL!
Ahhhh sleestacks!!🤣🤣

The dragonfly? Its a good guy, helps clear out those pesky mosquitos! Have fun up there! I'm heading in Thurs.
Great review.
Nice video. Really enjoyed it!
Thanks David. Pleasure was all mine :)
Going up to Brule next week, any tips? Going to be staying on the East side to stay out of the big water, but any tips would be helpful!
Unfortunately the group I'm with isn't a fan of portaging haha. I grew up doing poplar, meeds, winchell etc. but never had good luck on Brule!

1/4oz jig and a leech my favorite. if they are stingy troll some shallow raps til you find em! Enjoy it up there! Every day is special.

Great advice! I have been there when that's peaking and its hard to sleep.
Would also love to see a gear breakdown and stuff you use :)
Fishing wise? Med light set ups. Braid for trolling raps. Mono for jigging 1/8 or 1/4oz with plastic and leech. Asst colors til something works.
@@AnglingUploaded what kind of rapalas were you guys using? Another great video, you guys really hammered them!

This is a fabulous observation Zach. As I watch it back it's gets funnier every time!!
@@AnglingUploaded Also fishtrax - no crazy detailed but not bad. 4 AAA batteries. 12 gets me thru a trip..
Still don’t get how/why angling uploaded/another fishing show doesn’t have 100k plus subs. Very strange to me. Great video
Awwww shucks. Thanks a bunch!
hi there... i'm going up there this summer. Live in San Diego. What lures/bait do you recommend for walleye?
Big question! We bring in leeches and fish them with jigheads. Scented plastics are also effective. Trolling with spoons and raps great for pike and eyes. Smallies hit on all of it. Depends on your target. walleyes the best meal up there.
Great video! Were the blue Rapalas you caught the large walleyes on countdown or diving models?
Floating!
Hey man, great video! I noticed you had a fish Finder. Do you mind me asking what kind and also, what battery did you bring to power it and how did you keep it charged? Thanks
hawkeye! uses 3 aaa batt. i bring lithium. lighter and longer life. keep the brightness down. ussually 6 batteries gets me thru a trip.
Thank you!
How did you cook up the fish? me and some buddies are planning a similar trip and that fish looked tasty
Hey Tim! Veg oil and shore lunch. We vary on the seasonings we add, but got hooked on famous daves rib rub mixed in with it..
No way my buddies are also planning a trip. The guy who is planning everything is pretty hot too.
Love the video looks like a blast! What route did you take to get to Alice?
We went Kiwish but are gonna try the lake One route this year Parker. less portaging more paddling.
Also, which blue Rapala were you using? Thanks
f13 silver and tiger good too
What kind of Canoe do you guys use ?
Awesome video!
Northstar 17" Is a wise choice
Hey Pete, just wondering what GoPro mount are you using to clamp to the canoe? Thanks!
its a ram clamp with a rod thats maybe 14inchs on it? ram makes both. a bit bulky but ram is the best.
Awesome video and enjoyed it very much. One of these days I'm gonna make it up there for an epic fishing/camping trip. What time of year was this?
Thanks Thomas! We are always up there in mid to late June..
Haha nice 50 day. Victory toke👍
What lures worked the best for walleyes
We were either jigging with leeches or trolling raps. Try every color til one works. Tricky to manage when packing light. Good luck!
what where you using for a canue anchor ?
rock anchor. basketball net works great.
Did you guys spend any time on malberg?
Have in years past. Great lake! BWCA beckons you keep going :)
Why do they always put them back on the fishing shows?
I can only eat so much :)
If you ever go back from your camo site go left around the bend when you get to the small island start trolling to the rapids and you will be rewarded with something bigger than 28
Thanks Kevin!! Heading back in june!
