I'm a Marine combat veteran. I've been playing airsoft for several years now. I've watched all the big names and some small names. This is probably one of the best "tips list" I've seen. I was pleasantly surprised. Keep up the good work. Yut!
very nice ! 95% of airsoft tips for beginner are like "dont be a sniper" "this is the best gun" "correct aoe" "get good eye pro" but no one tells you how to play thanks a lot for the help that was awesome!
Coming from a responsibly armed citizen who tries to use airsoft and milsims for training real-world tactis, LOVE the fact that you mentioned the ODDA loop. It's the lack of any sort of stress innoculation that gets people, and that's the thing that training with this helps the most.
Man, I loved watching this learning process first hand! My biggest one was "Never go prone, or at least don't go prone without the ability to stand up in cover" In airsoft its far easier to dodge bullets than real life and most don't know how to hit moving targets. Being mobile is important to survival and going to a knee near cover or concealment (almost the same thing in airsoft) works just as well and gives you far more mobility, which is a life line.
Great tactics video, on AEG's. There is maximum range, and effective range. Maximum range is basically useless, and involved luck. Effective range means what you are aiming at, you can hit. Totally agree.
Another important tip that’ll increase your chance of winning certain fights is learn how to shoot with both hands. I learned that playing paintball and I use it in airsoft. If you’re using the wrong hand on the wrong side you’ll expose more of your body to your opponent making you a bigger and easier target.
That cover peek tip makes a lot of sense and I'm a little ashamed I didn't really think about it. Sure I mostly did things from the sides but *not* knowing what you *shouldn't* do is still risky. Repositioning also. For the few initial games I've played once I see someone I just go for it as best I can, one on one, no matter if I'm seen. You're right. That engagement is down to luck and moving is needed.
Man this focus on decision making is such a good aspect to draw attention to but also so difficult in the heat of the moment because decision making cant ever really be muscle memory. Mad props.
Much tightly packed wisdom here. My favorite zen was a side note. “Airsoft is who spots who , first, in range.” Gunfather, perhaps that is a topic for one whole video?
Thank you. I have been really busy with family and professional commitments lately and haven't had time to put any content out. Let me think about how I can expound on that one.
Great stuff. I recently took my nephew to his first airsoft game. I told him airsoft is like hide and seek and tag combined. I will be sending him this link for sure.
Great tips good advice. Today I played Airsoft. What it reminded me of out of a hundred people playing, was like a little boy walking up to a giant ant pile and kicking it over. Most people had no Rhyme or Reason Just scattered around like ants. Mostly kids under 20. Some teamwork but mostly not.
Great video. The 50/50 situation does have some caveats. If the game has instant or reasonably fast respawn and you're close to it, sometimes it is better to just roll the dice. The outcome might be 50/50, but the risk is not always symmetrical for both parts. The range bit is fucking critical for sure, I learn that early on.
as paintballer i dont recognise benefits of skirmish line. but tactical retreat is sweeet skill to learn. once i goated my mirror to bunker me out as i retreated one bunker behind. i heard him running and blast the empty corner. as he came in line of sight, i placed one shot in his chest. he felt the hit and didn't have time to spin on me.
A skirmish line is simply a way to get multiple angles on the same target. Airsoft is a game of angles. IMO the relatively short range of paintball (I haven't played in years) makes skirmish lines less effective but not obsolete.
I have found that having a single guy behind lines with a machine gun, or sniper can be very effective, because he can provide cover fire, without very much risk of the opposing side picking them off, and they often turn the tide on a situation like you outlined at 4:30.
sneaking around is very underrated. Once i had all black in a forest area and was able to sneak to the enemy base. I was around 20 from the enemy but I put a lot of bushes and leaves between me and the enemy. Even if I was all black, sticking out like a sore thumb, they werent able to see me. I was trying to get one bullet per kill but my gun wasnt accurate enough [or they were cheating]. 10 mins later, i got frustrated and just use'd full auto then they saw me
I'm always the gun in the front lol & the rest are on back but yes true stay tight I'm still learning myself but I'm glad we have good fellers like yourself to help younger people or people that are newish thank god .awesome video brother enjoy the day .
After playing Airsoft regularly for more than 5 years I learned one thing: Help never comes on time. I had LOT of situations when I was covering alone 1/3 of the map for almost whole round and 20+ other players from my team never showed up. One day I killed 5-6 attackers, waiting 15 minutes for help (Resp was near by) screaming for help and still no response. Another day I literally covered 50% of map (Whole first floor) and once more 20+ players from my team only played downstairs. So it's never like in movies where cavalry comes just in the right moment or Gandalf with the eagles comes to rescue you or something like that. In Airsoft you will die alone. Unless you have really, really good team.
This is your daily channel reminder that yes, I have been told (often) that I look a little like Jon Bernthal. I am in fact, NOT Jon Bernthal. That is all.
Great video! I recently decided to get into airsoft for the opportunity to exercise tactical knowledge that you just don't get many chances to use on a flat range. (And I've done shoothouse training, but God is that expensive as a civilian...)
Thanks for being apart of airsoft All this type of help n advice from any Gov, Law Enforcement or Military??? Helpful We need more of you to be not just involved among your selves BUT w every day airsoft players
I am pretty bad about trying to fight from well beyond a reasonable range. I do it in video games like PUBG too and can barely put enough rounds on a person to knock out a chunk of their health at 500m. Then their squad moves up on me while I get distracted a little while later and slaughters me at 50m.
What I take from this vid is to never be alone. War is not the effort of an individual soldier in my mind. Also lonesofting in my mind would be kinda depressing. Do you upload team based tutorials too?
I don't do team based videos as this channel is a one man operation. I have done a few videos on team CQB using my marker board to explain some basic concepts. If I ever asked my coworkers on the SWAT team to assist me with making airsoft/milsim content it would not go well. The sport is still very much frowned upon and sharing team SOPs is not allowed.
@@GunfatherMilsim ah okay. Since you are police. Do you think airsoft is a training method for extremists? I remember a kid who was arrested for trying to go to Syria a few years ago and they said he prepared bu going to gym and playing laser tag and I think airsoft too.
@sirfanatical8763 Airsoft is primarily a recreational activity. Anytime you are shooting projectiles at each other that cause pain there is SOME aspect of real world training there. However it is fairly limited in scope. You can pick up as many bad habits as good ones if you are not careful. I have done several videos on the subject.
7:30 theres a flaw in that strategy. you made the enemy go to your left, but if the enemy is smart they'd go to the right as it would provide them with more cover for longer.
I believe you are over analyzing it. The point is that sometimes you need to fall back in order to get your opposition to move. Nonetheless I appreciate the critical review of my content. Thanks for watching.

I’ve been looking around for more advanced tips for a while now and this is exactly what I’ve been looking for, thanks man
You're welcome sir. Thanks for watching.
Same here, I know it’s a game, but practicing tactics makes it fun. Wish there was more tactical vids
Through you searching, have you found any other similar videos that I should watch?

Thanks. I am working on being more "discovered". Building a UA-cam channel is a grind. I appreciate the support.

This was great. I only knew and practiced two of these. My favorite thing in CQB for a 50/50 gunfight is throw some pyro.
Extremely valuable stuff man. This is lighting up my fire to play airsoft again. Thanks brother.
Thank you.

Valid point from the airsoft context.
So good I watched it twice. Thanks.
Thanks for the input!
Great advice...Will be practicing all these points...subscribed.
Thanks.
this is actually explained really good and clear
"Keep your head up, don't stick your head up"! Loving that huge logo on the whiteboard, keep rockin man
Love the OODA loops reference, good stuff man.
Great rules and tips! Good stuff Rob. 🍻

good explanation for new ones how to use cover.

Thanks. The limitations on using airsoft for training is the people you are "training" with, not the actual airsoft replicas.
On point! I will take care in the next fights for that 🤞

Once again... I am not Jon Bernthal. Yes, I have been told... often... that I bear a striking resemblance to him. Still not Jon Bernthal.
Just found this, thanks for the great tips new sub
Nice work
Those are very helpfull tips! Thanks!
Awesome tips bro .. thx

Good tips! Do you send the patches to anywhere in the world? Or Sweden more specifically?
I have sent them all over the world but it will cost you a few more dollars. Just send me a FB message and we can work it out.
Skirmish mode work better in Woods with about 20 people. Dont Work on speedsoft nor on tournament level paintball where Time IS of essence.
Watch this video again and look at all those smiley faces 😂
Well explained video. Very useful. Other than that you look exactly like Shane from The walking dead. 😂 just joking. Keep it up ❤
Bets way I have ever seen magnatiles used!
without context this could be mistaken for a youtuber apology video lol
Hey do you still sell patches for $8?
They are $6. You can find them here:
daishotactical.com/products/gunfather-milsim-pvc-patch?
Certain fields won’t let u create a line cos they all want u to start all in one place just like paintball!
Way more in depth than my channel 😂
Keep working on it. Focus on little things like video editing, lighting, and audio. You will get there.
