Jaws or Orca? Which movie scared you more?
Neither.
Jaws I was 6 I think when it came out I think wasn't it in 75
Both
Jaws❤
Jaws and I won't swim in water that I can't see what is around me (only if I can stand and run from the water).
Our military personnel don't get enough recognition for what they do. Let's give a big thank you to all of our military!!
I am Canadian. but this warmed my heart. They are the best.❤
Right on! Our military folks are the best!
This mom of a USAF vet is so proud and thankful they were able to help!!
I saw on TikTok (the cruise lawyer guy) that the child's issue was a perforated bowel - a VERY dangerous situation! As a retired USAF NCO, I'm very proud to see the Air Force took care of business.
Also shout out to the carnival medical staff who made the diagnosis and decided they needed help ASAP. Good job!
As an Air Force veteran, could not be prouder of my brothers and sisters in Blue!
In college, a little over 30 years ago, I worked at McDonald’s when Jack in the Box had several people get sick because of under cooked burgers. I can’t remember how much they had to pay out but all I know is that every fast food restaurant across the country started making sure that the burgers were well done because of that hr liability.
Also, people need to realize that ground beef is not a steak and had a higher likelihood of having e coli and to kill it the burger needs to be cooked to a certain temperature. I won’t tell anyone how they should eat their food but they red to realize that most places are not going to be take that risk.
That's when tne trend went to preformed patties vs making them from ground beef into patties. Eliminated FF dirty hands working the meat etc.
Military family member here, must say that story about the USAF rescue was so heartwarming! Love our military folks and mad respect for all they do!
Serving undercooked or rare meat on a cruise ship to the masses doesn't sound like it would end well.
I'm sure Most of their steaks are served Medium rare.
@@Atochabsh sure but were talking mass produced food, not made to order that sits there, for those that just grab and go
@@Atochabsh Steaks are different. Hamburger meat is an issue as it is ground from various parts therefore bacteria can exist deep within the burger. You can't get it to the necessary temperature to kill that bacteria while also making it medium rare.
As a USAF veteran my brothers and sisters still making me proud
Great JOB ...
Un-Song HERIOUS !!!
Me too! USAF!
Tony, you are spot on regarding the burger controversy. Carnival cannot afford a health issue by serving undercooked food, and I have never heard anyone complain about how those burgers were cooked before this.
We were on Carnival Miracle a couple weeks ago. The burgers were not good. The meat tasted bad and the bacon tasted funny.
Send that complainer to the Gondola Dining Room. Monday morning I got under cooked bacon in my broken egg sandwich without even having to ask for it!
@@harrismagoonstunes107 Yikes! I don't need my bacon super crispy, but it needs to be cooked. So many places serve undercooked bacon. I have been to cruise buffets where it was hard to find bacon that had any crisp to it.
@@rodneyelylesrealestate I left the raw bacon on the plate but ate the sandwich. Wasn’t ideal, but it was debarcation day, so you’ve gotta eat when you can on those busy travel days.
This CSAR Gold Star Mom says thank you to the 920th Rescue Squadron for a job well done. I hope the child rescued is doing well.
Kudos to the US Airforce for saving that child!
Your Air Force did exactly what they should. Sometimes people forget that a military isn't just for war or peace keeping roles, they are also there for other emergencies. In 1997 my City (Winnipeg Manitoba Canada) experienced a major spring blizzard, it was impressive even for us and we are known for our winters. Our military came to the aid of my City and Province. The military can be very handy even at home or over an ocean.
I was on the Venezia during the rescue it was awesome to watch. props to the U.S.A.F.
Where were you? I’m wondering where the AF deployed from
@@trishkeller8228 I was in the cruise too, the AF deployed from FL
The burger person would be the one to sue the cruiseline if he got food poisoning with a burger undercooked.
US Air Force, respect!
Praying for the health and recovery of the child rescued at sea and I hope he/she got to be awake for that journey (as a kid, getting to experience a military hop of any kind is super exciting). And kudos to the Air Force servicemen/women who executed that rescue! Amazing stuff!
Yesterday in the Strait of Juan de Fuca, the Majestic Princess passed by a humpback whale about 200 feet off the port side. No whale was killed and I got a terrific photo of it.
That rescue is epic! I’m so glad he could be helped. I hope the parents are not responsible for those costs.
We cruised to Canada last year, and it seemed like the ship was barely moving through the Bay of Fundy. On an excursion later, we learned that there are limitations on cruise ship speeds through the bay to prevent harm to whales.
Also Tony my wife has the same problem with burgers only in reverse. If she gets a burger that has any pink in it at all she will send it back or request another burger she cannot and will not eat a burger with even the slightest pink in it. We went to a large burger franchise once and she had to send the burger back three times to get it where she could eat it.
On an Alaskan cruise a few years ago, the ranger said that whales that get hit by ships are generally ill or dead bc ships are big and noisy and healthy whales have the ability to get out of the way.
Ive always been told that when eating beef ,the bacteria is on the outside. Thus when you use minced beef that bacteria can be throughout the beef and if its not cooked thoroughly then you run the chance of being ill. You definitely do not want to be taken ill with food poisoning hundreds of miles from home and medical attention, especially if its easily preventable. Have a hot dog !
Hats off to the Air Force
Hi Tony, we were on the Pride April 21-28. We parked at the terminal in Baltimore and took advantage of the bus transportation offered by Carnival to Norfolk. Such a smooth transition, kudos to Carnival. ❤
Most shoreside restaurants won't serve burgers rare or medium rare unless they grind their own beef. Yes, it is.a health issue.
Correct !!! It’s that simple . Same reason the only place on Royal you can get a rare burger is in chops because they grind the meat fresh .
I've yet to be denied
Thank you Tony for the USAF shout out. Yes the USAF can and does do airlift for medical reasons on ships and in foreign countries if they are able and allowed. Proud to have serve with great folks and continually support them and all our first responders.
I love the burgers the way they are
The surface of the meat must be cooked for the meat to be safe. This means that as long as the top, bottom and sides are cooked, a steak or a chop is safe. Barbeque ribs where you can easy pull the ribs apart without a knife are also safe, because the ribs are fully cooked all the way through.
Minced meat has surfaces all the way through. The meat has been chopped up thoroughly, so it needs to be cooked on all surfaces. This means that any pink showing in the middle makes the burger unsafe. Sausage also needs to be thoroughly cooked, for the same reason.
Just in case you happen to meet someone who wants their burger rare.
Thes people who serve we civilians are amazing...I bow at their feet....thanks ever so much for sharing...and sad happening on whale...thanks Tony.
Hoping that you have a great safe cruise and the rest of your move goes well. I’d like to add that your wife is a very special lady and please don’t ever take it for granted.
My Dad loved rare steaks but would not let us eat rare ground anything. His point was that they could contain pork etc as unless the grinder was completely disassembled there was always leftovers from what had previously been ground. Now the bigger problem seems to be that E. coli can be spread much farther as meat that was tainted was ground.
Our first celebrity cruise had unidentified noro on it. On the formal night the waiter announce that the filet came one way, well done, and if you didn’t want it that way don’t order it! Of course steak tartar had also been removed. All of this was because there was a fear of a food bourn source of the outbreak. The next cruise was delayed 2 days due to CDC needing to investigate and all of the cleaning that was required!
This is not the reason to avoid ground beef. The problem is with a steak it's exterior is cooked high enough no matter how rare you like it. However hamburger because of its nooks and crannies has many surfaces where e-coli can be and unless cooked to high temperature cannot be destroyed.
@@theoldman2821 He didn’t stop us or him from eating hamburgers, just not rare etc. we ate ground pork too, but it was cooked to done too.
I’ve found a restaurant that can cook no pink and not dried out, they know the difference!
1:39 my other half John retired Col. USAF 35 years read the article this morning and said “Cara Tony’s going be talking about this today!” ~Cara 🇺🇸
Rare ground beef in a huge restaurant atmosphere will likely not happen, for bacterial reasons, if nothing else.
As an American who now lives in Prague I once thought the same. Beef tartare is very popular appetizer here in Prague. Raw mince with spices and sometimes an egg yolk. You get it with fried bread. You rub a garlic glove on the fried bread, then spread the mince on it and enjoy. It's very good. Would I have it anywhere else? No. They know how to prepare it. I wouldn't trust it from anywhere else.
I think Carnival's medium-well burger rule tells you something about where they source their meat. Gourmet restaurants on land can have a more specific process or even hand grind on site, so they know what parts went into the hamburger. You probably don't want a Carnival burger (or any fast food place on land) anything less than medium well, because not even they really know what all went into the factory grinders.
Tony, your burger story was hilarious! Your sick kid story was heart-warming! Your whale story was tragic! La Vida Loca has it all
Way to go Air Force!!
Guys Burgers employees shirts actually say "You can't have it your way, you'll have it Guys way."
On top of your game today!!! Haven't laughed so much in a while. Chateau le cow!!! Brilliant, simply brilliant!!!
We were on that Venezia cruise and got to see that first hand. Was quite an exciting time (wish I could post the pictures). It did not disturb our cruise at all. We were just happy that boy got to help that was needed.
I almost took a cruise nurse position with NCL. It was a 3 month contract and I would have been considered an officer. I couldn’t leave a family member that long, otherwise I would have taken the contract. Would have been a great experience and opportunity.
Hats off to the medical staff onboard for recognizing the passengers emergency.
Loved the Costanza reference
That Seinfeld reference cracked us up 😂
We are on Oceania's Riviera, going from Tokyo to Dubai. Last night, in the "Grand Dining Room," beef tartare was listed as an appetizer. That is close to raw beef, and the menu has warnings about eating undercooked foods.
Oceania's ships seldom start or stop in the US, and only 1 of the 12 we have been on started and stopped in the US (Miami to Los Angeles).
I was on that cruise in NY. Crazy!!!
The boy was very lucky that the Air Force was able to step up to help him. My husband experienced something similar and we had a 15 hour transit from New Zealand to Sydney, he could not be stabilized to be transported by helicopter. Longest 15 hours.
The guy kept getting burgers and kept getting the same results. Most people would just get something else to eat. But was the burger really well done as in almost burnt or just cooked completely through, still juicy? He needs to go home and make his burgers the way he likes especially if he is that picky.
It is sad about the whale, it probably was crossing in front of the ship and thought it could pass but wasn’t able to.
Tony, enjoy your visit to my side of the country, you are coming when we are having some great weather!
Thank you for my Mother’s Day chuckle!!😂
Don’t ever confuse a pink burger with a pink taco.
I do like a good rare burger from chateau la caow!! 🐄🤦🏼♂
We’ve been on the Carnival Pride four times! Pretty ship!
Orca! Watched as a kid with my mom and younger brother with my hands over my eyes the entire movie.
Coast Guard can’t re-fuel in air so there range is limited. BZ to the Air Force for stepping up!
As always, Tony, I love your commentary!!
“This ain’t Burger King, you can’t have it your way!” Lol 😂
Sad about the whale 😢
Have a great cruise Tony!
That was not a documentary, but the movie Orca. Loved that movie.
Glad to see the like button back inside the video frame on widescreen mode, it disappeared on all videos for a few days there, it’s just better and more convenient when it’s inside the video frame
Tony, one video I wish I didn’t see, now will be thinking of vengeance on Meraviglia, thank you, Tony 🙃. We are expecting to get on it in 2 weeks 🤞 😌
Wow on that rescue story. Bravo USAirforce🎉❤
Proud of the Air Force
Chateau le Cow was a great line. Thanks for the laugh after a crazy day.
I am a squid but I can appreciate the Chair Force. Great job all!!!!
Years ago the ship next to ours had a young whale on its bulbus bow when it pulled into Skagway Alaska a very sad sight.
We where just on the celebration last week and I was getting 2 burgers at a time, love them🚢
Bonus sailing from Norfolk is people can tour the Wisconsin, BB 64
On the Carnival Radiance last week and enjoyed a Guy burger, which to my surprise, the beef was a tad pink! I usually have at least one burger per sailing on Carnival and never were the burgers over-cooked or burnt!
I think there will be enough of a channel cleared in Baltimore by the end of May. They will not have a bridge rebuilt for many years, but they will have a sea lanes open
Could not have put it anymore elegant then that 😂. Great job Tony see what I did there. Elegant, butler lol
It’s an insurance risk issue for Carnival. People sue and Carnival must do everything possible in the interest of safety to maintain reasonable insurance coverage for their business. If not, the cost of cruises could be higher than what people are willing to pay.
"Bring it to New York for sightseeing?" Tony, you slay me.
God bless the family of that poor sick child and also to the Air Force!!!! You never ever know when you're going to need them!!! I watched Jaws when I was a wee lass. It scared me!! Be safe and have slot of fun on your trip!!!! Come sail away with me!😀😀
Tony, some whales sleep on the surface and it does happen that boats and ships can hit them. Back in the late 1970s hit whales twice while running offshore to go runs fishing at night. Whales were fine but one rudder was bent and we limped back home.
Burger dude is wilding
Safe travels to my home state!
Love the show as always! Please vlog your trip, those are so fun to watch, and if not too much trouble, let us know where you chose to stay. Hotel recommendations near cruise ports are always so helpful!! Safe travels! 😊
This whole episode was so special today😅😢
(Singing) Those at perril on the sea. Shout out to Luda
Chateau de la Cow 🤣🤣
USAF PJ’s ❤
Thank you Tony for pronouncing Norfolk correctly! If you want something less than Medium, go to the MDR. The whales are waiting for the passengers to have tender excursions, then let the fun begin. They, the whales will call in the Sharks to help out for their revenge on Captain Ahab.
a couple of times in the past we had ships arrive with a whale and porpoise wedged on the bulbous bow as it arrived in vancouver
And the burgers are free!!! Sheesh!
Thanks for telling what ship hit the whale. I read 2-3 articles that did not mention that fact.
I love a good medium rare burger, especially larger pub burgers. However, these are closer to smash burgers and those types of burgers are much better beyond the medium level.
Port of Baltimore is scheduled to be reopened by the end of this month according to UA-cam.
Tony, I was on that cruise 🛳 where the evacuation was done, it's was a amazing thing to witness! Our military do not get the credit they are entitled to 😊 and according to our Facebook page the boy is doing good, recovering 😊 thank you for you videos 📹 😊
Hope your move is going well. 🎉Air Force🎉 I eat steak medium rare but never hamburgers. Hamburger meat is ground so that means germs are on the interior and it should be cooked all the way through.
7:30 The way it was explained to me, ground beef does need to be cooked all the way through. This is because the grounding process mixes the bacteria, that normally is just on the surface of cut meat, throughout the ground beef. Therefore, to kill the bacteria in a patty, it needs to be cooked all the way through.
I sail out on the Meraviglia on May 25th. I will keep an especially close eye on the sea lol
Sailing on Pride 5/26. Carnival updating via text. At this point they think port will be open. Your point is valid they will not give definitive answer yet!
Hats off to all the people involved with getting that little boy to the hospital. About the burger, I'm leaning toward the cruiser's point of view. Having brand name restaurants on board, means you need to serve at the same level on would be served on land. You can go to the buffet and get a well done, dried out burger for free. You go to a specialty restaurant because you want something different. What's next, cooked sushi?
Just to clear things up, the whale was a Sei (pronounced "say") whale, named by the Norwegians. Good thing it wasn't an NCL ship involved...
For your face…!
I love it👍
Tony!! One of the funniest videos here - Geeeeeesh, these people and their requests! LOL, such an insult to Guy Fieri! "This is how it's made" you like it or you don't. Find another place to find your favorite. See you in Cali tomorrow, excellent weather ahead btw. =)
Simple solution: cook 3 batches - rare; medium; well done = & put them out for people to choose - & work out the ratios that you need for each. Let each eat as they want - they paid the fare! 😎😎😎 Sad for the poor whale!😔😔😔 Enjoy your travelling, Tony!🎖🎖🎖😎😎😎🌟🌟🌟
I too don't like well done. A little pink is a must. But I found their burgers just ok. It's all the add-ons that makes it good.
And also a reminder, when the US military or coast guard do an extraction there is no fee. All done for free. Zero. Nada. I think that should be brought as most think a person needs to pay for it.
Yep... any kind of emergency evac gets super expensive and it won't be covered by normal medical plans. If you are older or have risky health issues, Berkshire Hathaway has a great reputation for their travel coverage which can include medical evacuation insurance..
@@GetOffMyyLawn nope FREE
@@joethecomputerguy1 this case was free... But it's usually a private company if you need medical evac from another country or cruise
@@GetOffMyyLawn if you are evac’d from a cruise ship for medical reasons by the USCG it is free to all. This is also true for most countries CG. Insurance companies will not tell you this. Once you hit the ground from the evac the bills then start accumulating.
@@joethecomputerguy1 Ah ok. But insurance is still something to think about... if they take you by helicopter to say Bermuda and you need to be evac'd to US... it could cost $25K if you are not covered.
I just got off of Celebrity cruises where I was served a very delicious medium rare cooked to perfection burger. Hats off to the chef because I always order medium rare knowing I’ll get medium well but this was indeed medium rare. *chefs kiss.
All chain restaurants cook medium at best (no pink) by USPH standard. Think Johnny Rockets, McD's, etc. Local places let you risk whatever temperature suits you!
Have a great cruise Tony!!
