The solo is a great example of how to get the 4th interval more involved in your soloing. In the key of C it is the F note and it can be a pain to get that thing in there without sounding sour but this is a great case study on how to use it. I love this solo.
I come back here the odd time when I need to get a smile on my face and also help younger people understand the genius of guitar work . I always tell them ( and frankly anyone I meet who plays guitar ) that this is the best cover of Stairway ever recorded . The sound , the perfection of the rhythm and tone . 😢This guitar solo always makes me emotional. Even when I play it myself.. it makes me feel something. The power of music is immense. It's like what dave grohl of the foo fighters once said "I can sing a song to 50000 people and they will sing it back to me for 50000 different reasons" music is powerful 🤘
Jesus Christ... I've been playing this wrong for 30 godamn years. I used to jump up to the 12th fret where you slide up on the 7th. Soooo much smoother. And for some ungodly reason, I would twist up my fingers at the 12-15 range instead of up to the 17/19. But I literally learned it listening to an old record and constantly spinning it backwards. The whole thing is very smooth. Kudos...
@@Daviddity My bad. I meant that it's not so old that the quality of recording would be considered particularly impressive. Sure it's good compared to most UA-cam videos(which are crap), but it's not like quality recording equipment hasn't existed for decades at this point.

That pretty much goes for the whole song. It's hard to mimic feel with different equipment, and different playing styles. Props to this guy for an incredible improvisation though.
***** Sorry I have to disagree there. Jimmy Page emphasizes different notes on that parts and I personally like it much better his way. I play this like part the same way and its much harder to do it like Page.
Omaragorn Thats the part that took me forever to properly get. I'm still not as good as this guy, but then again he has the les paul & marshall lol hes gonna sound better regardless haha and as for the hammer-on, i believe it reduces volume in the bend, so it doesn't stand out too high compared to the rest, which is why i do the same thing. it keeps the note "thin"
