I made this yesterday, amazing cake! I only cut it in half, put half of the custard in between, then the rest of the custard on top and on the side, and added whipped cream (with vanilla) on the top of the whole cake. I used almond extract. Will definitely make again. Make sure there are no yolk in the egg whites or the egg whites won’t get to stiff peaks. I cooked mine in an 9x6in pan, it took 35min.
@@maritzamartinez8702 since you separate the egg whites and egg yolks, I’d say it is more like a chiffon cake. But it is similar to a sponge cake, just a different technique.

I tried this cake today for mother's day celebration, and it was really amazing. 👌 Everyone in my family loved it and it wasn't too hard to do, even for a newbie like me. 😁 i just had to do another batch of cake though, so I can make it a 2-layer cake, as I only have a 9 in pan and my cake shrunk as I was cooling it down. Can't wait to try making your other recipes.

Suggestions: I made this but changed from 1 can of condensed milk to 1/4 can plus 2 tablespoons of caramel sauce instead and it still came out just sweet enough, not eggy. Imagine putting the whole can? Way too much sweetness. I also put almonds in between every layer. Came out great this way.
