Nice explanation. We had our driveway repaired last fall and about 200 linear feet of concrete curb. Of course the repaired curb doesn't match the color of the original curb, so I was wondering when we get the driveway sealant job done later this year if we could use the asphalt sealant on the length of the curb to make it more uniform in color?
I need to know these things cuz I have a business doing Sealcoat and striping my question I'm learning how to try to mix it together how much saying I need to use and how much water I need to add and how much additive I got a 555 gallon tank I bought it for $10,000 and I'm in Jacksonville North Carolina getting ready to sealcoating & Striping baby I love it can't wait to start
Hi from donald, my driveway is pounded in over years of 1"- gravel So i like too put down Eulsified tar spray driveway coating on stone then add #10 pee size limestone then re-add sealer agin if it stiffen up, i got friends saying i cant find your driveway 👀 So maybe something i do help blind friends
99% of the time its asphalt based but sealer sold in stores is for a separate video as in my experience or may I say my customers experience it has a tendency to all slowly flake off and is a complete nightmare.
If you hire anyone that uses a "self mixed" product, you are at the mercy of the person that mixed that product for that job. There will be qualified and responsible, and unqualified and unresponsible ( AKA "hacks") that do it. That's why I prefer to use a factory mixed product from a sealed container and apply it myself.
Sounds like you have had negative experiences in the past from contractors which is completely justifiable. There are many "gypsy" or "night rider" companies out there who pass out flyers offering $40 driveways for everybody then do a crappy job and use watered-down material to stay at those bargain prices, after a year the company is gone and the customers are disappointed. I see it all the time in this industry, its always better to do some research and choose a reputable company with years in business. I guarantee all my work because I actually care about the longevity of my business and having returning customers.
Hi I recently sealed a driveway with bitumen emulsion and the customer has come back that after two weeks it is still sticky and tacky Can you please advise the most suitable method to remove excess bitumen so it can dry out / cure completely ? Thanks in advance
Haha yes this was my first time making a video 😑 Thinking about making a new and improved one. Hope you learned something out of it though, if not you could ask me here.
Nice video Dave very informative. Keep it up
Great video. I’m not a very photogenic individual myself so I don’t make videos but it’s nice to have someone else in the business who does.
Thanks for the kind comment. Happy holidays Andrew!
Faceless videos are accepted now. So do what you want to do. :)
Thank you very much, my brother. I think that blessed my socks off!
Thank you for the lesson!!

Can you discuss the mix ratio?
Honestly it really depends on the state of asphalt your applying to, variables like porosity and the traffic exposure its exposed to vary the ratios.
HI there! Whats the proportion Sand x Asphalt?
Thats a question you should ask your sealer manufacturer, all sealer formulas tend to differ and could ask for different ratios
Hey i am From Croatia, where i can buy this
Is sealer available in grey or light grey?
There is sealants out there of all colors but finding a reputable supplier may be tricky
