- Why is Bangladesh facing a dollar crisis while others are not?
বাংলাদেশের ডলার সংকট কাটছেই না। ফলে কাঁচামালসহ বিভিন্ন পণ্য আমদানির ‘এলসি’ খোলা কঠিন হয়ে পড়েছে। এমনকি ব্লাড ব্যাগের মতো জরুরী চিকিৎসা সরঞ্জাম আমদানিতেও ডলার মিলছে না। এর কারণ কি আর্থিক ব্যবস্থাপনার দুর্বলতা? অভিজ্ঞ ব্যাংকাররা বলছেন, খাদ্যশস্য থেকে শুরু করে চিনি, ভোজ্য তেল, পেট্রোলিয়াম, তুলা, রাসায়নিক, শিল্পের যন্ত্রপাতিসহ অধিকাংশ পণ্যই আমদানি করতে হয় বাংলাদেশকে। এত বিপুল ব্যয় রপ্তানি আয় এবং রেমিটেন্স দিয়ে পুষিয়ে নেয়া সম্ভব হয় না। তবে ভারতসহ বিভিন্ন দেশ সুষ্ঠু ব্যবস্থাপনার মাধ্যমে ডলার সংকট যেভাবে মোকাবিলা করছে বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংক কি তা পেরেছে?

আসলে, প্রবাসীরা সরকারের কর্মকাণ্ডের প্রতি অবিশ্বাসের কারণে রেমিটেন্স কম হচ্ছে। যেখানে মানুষ ব্যাংকে টাকা রাখতে ভয় পায়, সেখানে কিভাবে ব্যাংক চ্যানেলে টাকা পাঠাবে!
এমনও জানি যে, যাদের ব্যাংকে টাকা বেশি ছিল তারা অনেকে ব্যাংক থেকে টাকা তুলে বিদেশে ব্যবসার জন্য নিয়ে যাচ্ছে।
ভারতের কম দামে রাশিয়া থেকে তেল ক্রয়ের ব্যাপারে বলবেননা কেন? ডলারের মুল্য বৃদ্ধির কারনে আমরা অতিরিক্ত দাম দিয়ে জ্বালানি কিনতে হচ্ছে।

What about the repayment of foreign loans and payments of interests on those? How much is due and going to be due periodically.? These could be the cause of concern and uneasiness..
আনুমানিক তথ্য গুরুত্বহিন
সবচেয়ে বড় সমস্যা হলো যে বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকের এই ব্যর্থতার জন্য কাউকে জবাবদিহি করতে হয় না। অর্থ মন্ত্রী, গভর্নর, মন্ত্রণালয়ের সচিব সবাই বেতন সুযোগ সুবিধা সবই নেয় কিন্তু সমস্যা নিয়ে কোন গবেষণা নেই। সঠিক সময়ে সঠিক সিদ্ধান্ত নিতে জানে না। বানিজ্যিক ব্যাংক গুলো এবং বাংলাদেশ ব্যাংকের সিন্ডিকেটের এই সংকট সৃষ্টি করে কোটি কোটি টাকা হাতিয়ে নিচ্ছে ।
Possibly there is obligation to put aside some billion dollars for transferring abroad which is most likely when general election is not too far. Unfortunately due to lack of transparency people don't have scope to know.

@Tushi Snow No, kindly don't do that, despite the harassment, it'd be illegal to send money other than via banking channel. Instead you can lodge complain to Bangladesh Bank. The more of us complaining, more it'll create pressure to reform the remittance networks
