I'm not much of a believer of the whole culture vulture thing. These girls were given a concept and this is what they're doing with it. It's never come across as disrespectful in my opinion. Them using GTA was a clever idea cause it took most people's mind off the appropriation talks.
they weren't given this concept at all don't get it twisted, its a concept THEY wanted. They're huge fans of hip hop in general and make their own lyrics personally as well, i can't say for a fact its all of it but most of it so far it's been on their own accord with some say of course from their company. culture vultures have always been those who take but act like they created said thing and just use it for their own gain, I can say for sure young posse as a group aren't like that. When people bring up that appropriation shit, 9 times out of 10 its always something ridiculous anyway
@@rasenganmaster101 I'm not claiming them to be culture vultures at all. I enjoy their music. However, you can watch an interview with I believe Doeun and Jieun on Ki5ko small room and they said they weren't expecting this type of concept at all considering their senior artists in the company.
@@t.dsmith8619 oh ik, I wasn't saying u were calling them culture vultures. Also yeah I don't blame them for not expecting it since there basically isn't any kpop groups that do it anymore, but ik one of them specifically said they wanted to do it.
Im old school too. Like ghetto boys Bushwick bill old school. I cant buy into the culture thing. Some complain they want something like this to show they recognize other complain when they do something like this. I see it as an international food festival. Everyone gets a seat at the table and who cates who's cooking. I just want to know how they got the rights to parody gta and snoop. We really cant call it appropriation if they were allowed by man himself to use his work. Its actually better than weird Àl's MJ song. I think they gave a shout out to the beastie boys too in this. Get ready for more like this hip hop and rap is the last genre that kpop is pushing into. Then every did everything else but country musicand who's into that😂.
They won't "beat the allegations" but they never tried to appropriate hip hop culture, which is crazy cause it was and is a multicultural culture. People who don't even know about hip hop accuse them when almost every kpop group adds a rap here and there. They just made it their main concept, even though they sing well too. As a 50 year old black man, I dig their music more than most kpop. Can't get into the cutesy stuff. And even though I'm not a big g-funk hip hop listener I dig it. I actually liked their previous XXL EP more than this one but I'd put this over most rap from here in the states. Dope reaction.
I also wasn't very into the band's earlier singles (didn't try the B-sides), but I always appreciated the goofy "bedroom CG artist" music videos. This one is where it all came together for me. I know you and I are roughly the same age, but I can only speak for myself in that I much more enjoyed the older MC-driven hip-hop before gangsta rap took over as the dominant form in the early-mid '90s. Where I really like with what YP's team did to riff on their VERY OBVIOUS inspirations is to reintroduce the fun call-and-response of old school hip-hop and then turn up with more melodic R&B singing sections.
When it comes to young posse I just try to have fun with the food related songs, the rest of the songs on their albums is where I’m more crucial, and so far they have all been good. It’s just the title tracks are unconventional so it’s harder to enjoy for some people
they better than every western female rapper. i’ll die on this hill. rap ain’t about where you’re from, rather your experiences and your perspectives. race shouldn’t even be a question. same thing w eminem. he’s my goat, and i’m not white…

Maaaannn last year Halloween fell on a weekend! Lol but I agree with you on this here.
Idk about snoop but they’re getting featured in gta 6

They need to feat a black artist. They had the opportunity with this comeback.
Snoop would do it lol

Though I completely disagree, I respect your opinion on that.
