I really like how they opted to give the "Tomorrow is the judgement day" line to Javert instead of Valjean in this version, the contrast it creates between the two is superb, it's very interesting to listen to, and really fits Javert's character. I'd hazard a statement that it's just better than having Valjean sing it. I might be biased on grounds of Javert being my favourite character in the whole musical though ;)
He definitely isn’t as good as the rest of the cast, but Nick Jonas actually does a much better job than I really expected, considering his main singing background before this.
I love les Miserables and Samantha barks has an amazing voice and she’s my second favourite Eponine and my second favourite actor but Carrie hope fletcher is my first favourite Eponine and my first favourite actor
Yeah, Eddie Redmayne just killed it as Marius. He, Samantha Barks and Amanda Seyfried performed _the_ most heartwrenching version of "One Day More" imo. THAT'S what I expect from actors in musical movies- beautiful voices dripping with emotion. Not... the torture they put Hugh Jackman through...
How to destroy my favourite musical of all times: put Jonas brother to play the role of Marius - instead of Hadley Fraser OR ANYONE ELSE ANYHOW! Every time I watch the anniversary or listen to a song, I get so pissed with that! Come on, the boy has no voice. How can you put him besides Alfie Boe and Samantha Barks and Ramin Karomloo? Ps: for those who might not know, Hadley Fraser's debute role was Marius in Les Miz. At the anniversary he plays Grantaire.
I'm not too fond of this version, Norm (Javert) breaks pacing too often, Katie Hall (Cosette) is passable but gets dragged down by Nick (Marius). Ramin (Enjolras) just seems off, The Thenardiers are fine and Alfie (Valjean)just seems a bit shaken. Samantha (Eponine) was great though.
@@ashleebenedict6523 Barks and Boe (Eponine and Valjean) are both good. Alternatively, the entire 10th anniversary cast is great. Wilkinson (Valjean) leads the song strongly, Ball and Kuhn (Marius and Cosette) follow well before Salonga (Eponine) steps in beautifully, Maguire (Enjolras) sings strongly. Quast blows Lewis out of the water on Javert across the whole musical and this song is no exception. The Thenardiers never sound spectacular in this song but Armstrong pairs with Galloway better in the 10th than Lucas does in the 25th.
@@AlexisFloofer Wilkinson was ass, I'm sorry, on the level of Michael Crawford who both only get a pass because they're the 'first' Phantom/Valjean. Colm sounds like he's constipated for half the pieces. Boe has far more power in his singing. Quast is great, but Norm just has so much more power in his voice and he's far more reminiscent of Book Javert.
Ramin, Alfie and Samantha's voices really soar in this.
And Katie's
Don’t sleep on Norm!
When Samantha Barks sings, "But he never saw me there..." She does this beautiful sforzando into a crescendo that is just... **chef's kiss**
That woman is breathtaking in both her beauty and her talented voice... She's part of why Eponine is my favorite character next to Javert ❤️
Still not better than Queen Lea
@@johnwright7307 Never said she was. But she is damn good.

Javert is the king!
Normally Valjean, Javert and Enjolras all sing that bit together.
Ramin and Hadley being in the same show again was just
✨👌🏻 loved them in Phantom. 😊
Love rivals in Phantom, in love with each other in this!
ENJOLRAS!!! GREAT VOICE!!!
Ramin is the best!!! I think he is the best!!! He is also the best Phantom of the opera ever!!!!
YES!!!
The Javert of this version cant be beaten
Philip Quast : ua-cam.com/video/urxk4mveLCw/v-deo.html
Facts!
Heard of Philip Quast?
@@connorlcoopersings6714 I would say he's just as good as Philip Quast, if not better in some aspects
I love Philip Quast too but I have to say I prefer Norm Lewis' interpretation! At least we can all agree it's not R*ssel Cr*we though...
You know it's a good sign when the weakest singer is Nick Jonas, who's not exactly a slouch.
He can sing his ass off and this cast makes him look pedestrian. An insane amount of talent.
He id
He was a terrible choice to pull in a young demographic. Definitely not his range. I'm sure he's talented but this role ain't it😂
Let’s face it, Nick was the off one:c
this is easily my favourite cast
The way Alfie Boe belted one day more goosedbump me lmao
Literally my favorite song in the whole show

Yeah I don't really get the level of hate. Obviously he wasn't as good as someone like Karimloo or Boe, but he was ok.
I liked him as Marius, all of the hatred for him is unjustified... He just pales compared to everyone else
Listening to this in the USA on 11/2/2020.... One Day More

Katie Hall is great as Cosette
great job.
I like more the movie ver. and I´m pretty sure it´s cuz Nick Jonas kinda ruins some parts of the song

There's always one...
(I giggled too)
A Jonas brother was a bad choice for this role and I will die on that hill😂

Probably the first time I've seen someome actually think Enjolras in the 10th anniversary was better.
MHA x Les Miserables
anyone?
Are you okay? These two things are so unrelated and uncomparable.
Never thought I’d say this. But the Movies cast sounded better than these guys. Without Samantha Barks it would have been downright awful
Okay but Alfie is incredible
Michael Hyland are you joking?
Is this sarcasm? 😮
Let me guess: if Sam Barks were not in the movie she would sound awful as well, wouldn't she? ...
You lack judgement.
