Don Baskin was a really great guy. I mixed him and his band for a few years at The Saddlerack in San Jose. He was a good performer and player, he was one of my favorites to mix. His band was one of the house bands. I'm saddened to hear of his passing, RIP Don, you were one of the very good ones.
RIP, Don. You were always my ideal of someone who lived for the enjoyment of others. You set a very high standard for those who would follow, all the while making it look easy. We lost touch through the years, but I will miss you.
lovely to see this. What I like is his delivery on the" Little girl" song. Love is a bitch and his sarky, nonchalant lines are carried brilliantly. Yeah! RIP Don Baskin.
These guys had a pretty good sound for the time and the song fit perfect for a relationship where the girl was a runaround airhead, and I had a couple of them.
Always loved that song & still do. The video was great, too! ua-cam.com/video/xA8tUUrSTIw/v-deo.html I'm glad I checked out a little history & learned a bit about Don; an obviously bright, talented guy with a great love for music, &, as this clip shows, he was a bright, well-spoken guy as well. Too bad he left early by today's standards, but he had a life well-lived, I'd say. Well done, Don! RIP
Hi Joyce Jean! That was my mom's name, too! That song really DID have a rockin' beat! Made it easy AND enjoyable to dance to! Now we're BOTH telling our age! Lol! Have a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
I was 13 when their top song came out. Really loved it.
One of my favorite songs had the 45; played it loud when my parents weren't home. Thank you!

I think that song and the Outsiders Time Won't let me deserve that hof recognition Don was talking about.

Great interview! Saw the reunion show at FX in (1990?)
