The minimum working hours for all full time nurses is 37.5 per week. I don't know how much ward nurses do, but as you can see in this video, I had been doing more than the minimum. I'm sure some ward nurses are doing the same. :)
That depends on the trust. In my current trust, they only hire nurses with theatre background. Once hired, they work as supernumerary til they complete all scrub competencies. This may take 6 months to 1 year.
Did you mean scrub? They're both 1:1 (nurse:patient) ratio but sometimes in recovery, it can become 1:2 especially due to bed shortages and understaffing. For anaesthetics, it's always 1:1 although sometimes, they help us in recovery. :)
In my trust, patients stay in recovery for only 30 minutes unless there's an unresolved issue or bed shortage in the wards. On average, I would have 4 to 5 patients in a long shift.
Thank you for sharing sir jet. Keep it up 👏👏
does working in the OR allows you to receive a higher pay than those who work in the wards or other areas of the hospital?
One could only wish 😂. I think the advantage here is we get paid double when doing private lists. For the wards, the pay is the same.
The zoom in effect is overly used. It made me dizzy
Oopsie! Thanks for being honest.
yes @@JetfromRecovery. Your content is very informative however using this Zoom Effect too much derails your audience from watching your videos.
Hello..... Is it difficult to work in theatre??? I mean shortage of nurses???
It's becoming more challenging for everyone. I think there's a shortage everywhere.

@@JetfromRecovery if im a scrub nurse in NHS, can i do bank shift in recovery or it should be outside theatre?
You can do banks in areas where you have competencies. So as long as you have recovery competencies, you can do some shifts.
@@JetfromRecovery Nice. normally how many pt's you received in a LD shift? since pt stay in PACU for 2-4hrs
