IMO Yabuki was probably based on fighting harada, jersey joe walcott, ezzard charles, jake lamotta, or/and battling nelson Mendoza most probably on carlos zarate, jose medel and kid mccoy Rikishi on joe louis, joe gans and/or sam langford
Joe is not George foreman, no way. Foreman was dominant in all his fights and never got his guard down. Frazier always loved to brawl and get hit, even George foreman said the same. Plus joe was always shorter than many of his opponents just like Frazier. Joe Yabuki is very similar to Frazier in many ways.
@AnimeJoeyt George Foreman use Brawler, only Niccolino Locche use No-Guard similar like Joe That's why Joe's style is Brawler because of his aggressiveness and his no-guard rewards with speed and intelligence and Joe Yabuki's Cross-Counter was based on Jose Mendez, a Mexican boxer who fought in Japan in the 1950s and early 1960s.
seeing carlos punch drunk made me bawl to tears 😢😓 anj2 peak direction
💔🥲🥲
On god brother
really good anylasis, i’ve been a fan of ANJ for a while and honestly have been looking for something like this
Thank you man🥊💙

Excellent Vidcha!
Aoyama's style is based on Nicolino Locche, in the manga they even compare them.
I feel like the first one would be like Pernell Whitaker
Lowkey Same!
For me Rikishi is inspired to Carlos Monzón
Good analysis
Thanks 🙌

In the manga it says about the Mexican boxer, his Cross-Counter and his rope magic from Joe vs Rikiishi in the reformatory
