That is truly an amazing harp and the sound is angelic.
It really is, thank you! 😊
Woah! That's definitely a step up from the inexpensive lap harps on Amazon... in sound, appearance, AND quality. It's a very pretty little harp! Great find. Honestly... this one makes me want to get a second harp. LOL.
Yes, you should! It's gorgeous and really not much more expensive 😁
I’ve had my eye on Derwent harps for a long time! Thanks for the review :)
They are nice, and the owner was fantastic to work with 😊
When I received my Fireside harp, the box was smashed and I was afraid the cardboard soundbox was crushed. I took pictures of the damaged shipping box before I opened it. Gratefully, like your Derwent, there was no damage to any part of the harp. There is such great excitement and anticipation tied to getting a new harp and if it arrives damaged your joy turns to sorrow. I am so glad to see your joy in your latest harp acquisition!
Thank you! Yes, it is so nerve wracking, hoping that everything will be okay! I'm so glad your Fireside arrived safe and sound 😊
@@MusicalMollyKhan Thank you, it was a great relief! I know it isn't always possible but I try to meet with the person when buying or selling a harp. I'm not too concerned when a harp is shipped by a reputable harp dealer. But I learned early when I had an incident where I bought a year old L&H Ogden from a private party on ebay and they really didn't know how to pack it properly. So when I received it the box looked okay however upon opening I saw the corner of the neck sustained a noticeable ding and one of the feet was split in two. L&H quoted a price of $50 to replace the foot and around $300 to restore the wood on the neck. FedEx took some responsibility for the poor shipping and paid for the repairs but would not pay for shipping to & from Chicago which would cost another $500 or so. Since then I have decided to buy only from people who know how to pack and ship a harp. In your Daphne "unboxing" video having it delivered like that is ideal....and awesome!!
how is the fireside harp!
@@SisterRose It is a lovely harp and I enjoyed building it. I decided not to put the soundbox on because I mainly wanted this harp to take with me anywhere and be able to practice. I really don't need much sound for this purpose. I have another harp I play when I need bigger sound.
@@SisterRose It is a good value for the price. I play it everyday. It is my practice harp. I have another harp I play for performing.
Beautiful and magical sound!
Thank you! 😊
That is so gorgeous! I love the green with the gold leaf! I may order this exact one
You should, it's absolutely gorgeous 🥰
Sounds so good and I love its fairy look 🧚🏼♀️
Thank you so much, that's exactly what I was going for with the color and engraving 😊
Such a terrific sound, thank goodness it wasn't damaged, thanks for the journey 😝
Thank you 😊
Aaaaw, you have one now, too🥰🥰🥰 beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
I'm so happy! You were definitely my inspiration for checking out Derwent, thank you 😊
@@MusicalMollyKhan oooh, so happy , I could inspire you 🥰🥰😍😍😍 Your Adventurer looks absolutely stunning, it is a beautiful little harp😍😍😍
Wow another harp!
I'm falling in love with these relatively inexpensive, small unlevered harps. They're so convenient and often so cute!
Very cute and lovely harp..🙂 I wish I could buy such a harp. 🙂
It is so lovely! You can contact Derwent Harps and find out if they ship to your area, they are relatively inexpensive 😊
@@MusicalMollyKhan Yes, that's why it seems to be just a wish for me by now. 🙂 But I will try to make a Paraguay type harp to spend less. I really love harp too.
I love your harp reviews ! What's next? I suggest a MusicMakers Ballad or Jolie in a vivid color. Or a Stoney End Brittany. Ooo, or a Sligo Luchair ! I really want one of those !
Ooh, those all sound lovely! I would really like to try a MusicMakers harp, I haven't ever played one, and I adore the vivid colors. I do have a few waiting in the wings, including a couple double strungs and some smaller 22 from Stoney End and a small company called Noteworthy Woodworking. So many beautiful instruments 😊
Was considering getting this or even one of their smaller harps just to start out, though the lack of levers would be a bit limiting! I got into programming harp sounds recently and wanted something authentic, but since I compose in different keys I might be a bit stuck manually retuning!
Ooooh, did you see my unboxing video of the Derwent 😁😁I remember me screaming: It is ok❤️❤️❤️🥰🥰🥰🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️
I haven't seen that, but it's hilarious that happened to both of us 🤣
My parcel looked definitely similar 🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🤗🤗🤗
Well that really is gorgeous !
But I’m stateside so shipping across the pond is sticky. Suggestions?
I also live in the US! Shipping was around $100 and the owner was happy to ship it 😊
In your experience, which harp sounds fuller, this one or the Waring cardboard harp? Also, is one easier to hold? Thanks, Molly!
Great question! I think the Derwent definitely sounds fuller. It is also a bit easier to hold because if the angled bottom (in my opinion) 😊
First!!!! I like your videos.
Thank you! 😊
Hi ma'am , I will just try to practice Harp. How will you play the Em , Bb , Sharps
If your Harp has no Lever?
It's just like the 15 string harp you have shown in your past video. Your help would mean a lot to me💕
Great question! The only way to get sharps or flats on a harp with no levers is to retune the desired notes. So if you have a song with Bbs, you can tune all your Bs down to play that song 😊
Do you buy all these harps? Or do the companies send them to you to review?
You have me SOLD on the toys! (But, where can I hear the music you make with all these toys?)
Aww thank you! I do occasionally post music but I'm not great at audio recording so it's not super often. You can find these performances on my YT channel 😊
Molly please please get a chromatic lyre ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I want one!! I'm looking into maybe making modifications to a lyre I already have, because it may take a couple months for me to afford one otherwise 😅
I think maybe they are zither pins
The tuning pegs seem to be standard harp ones, rather than zither pins. It's the bridge pins that are so different from what I'm used to!
God brexit really ruined things for me haha. It's doubly insulting since I am Irish but the only harp options I can really afford come from across the pond. I'm sure I'll find something poking around.
They never answer emails or messages 🙄🤨
