amazing video! thanks a lot. i'm trying to get into all of this and i've been thinking about getting into this and reading in general, can't wait, thanks again.
what a nice job. Thanks for the info and for the video! keep bringin us such good videos (sorry if the words have no sense, i'm translating from spanish) and have a nice day
Thanks for the recommendations. I even found an iaido class near me so I can tap into the ancient practice on my own. It helps me learn to focus. I'm enjoying it so much. It's extremely meditative for me.
"10 Great Samurai Books that you can apply to your life" I'm currently still chewing my way through "Miyamoto Musashi: His life and writings" by Kenji Tokitsu. This book contains just about everything they think he wrote as well as his first generation disciples. The author also presents his thoughts and opinions as well as the prevailing thoughts of other scholars. They break down the Five Rings as well as the Dokkodo and try to make sense out of them as many of these ideas are so foreign to us today and in modern western society. "Taiko" is also an epic fictionalized account of the Nobunaga and the early Hideoyoshi years. I got more out of that than the Musashi story which contains a lot more fiction than we would really want.
That sounds very educational. I'll have to find that. I recently read Dokkodo, but it had all these modern interpretations of it that honestly made me sick. I didn't agree with any, it even went on to criticize Musashi, calling him a psychopath. If it does that, then no thanks. I rather get my own interpretation out of it.
Excellent top ten list of the essential samurai books of all time Bushido Blues I absolutely enjoyed it very much oh by the way did you finally watched the samurai short film Kiru A Ghost of Tsushima short film on UA-cam yet?
@@bushidoblues9302 well, i personally enjoy the final duel between Mifune and Nakadai on Samurai Rebellion. Although is very short, it is amazing. Others could be the duels of Harakiri, the Hidden Fortress, Zatoichi or Sanjuro. There are lots of examples. Have a nice day
hey i'm trying to buy 'hagakure: the book of the samurai' right now, would you be able to comment the link you would reccomend the most, because i'm seeing a couple of different versions.

@@bushidoblues9302 You’re welcome I’m glad you liked it.
Hope you did not forget "Mastering The Art of War". Many do not know of that sequel.
An idea for another video could be a top of samurai duels in films
I like that! Which would be your favorite duel?

Soul Sword, The Way and Mind of a Zen Warrior by Vernon Kitabu Turner.
Hagakure and Code of the Samurai are some of my favorites. I should read The Book of Five Rings sometime.
Thank you! 🙏

Hello! You make great videos, but are you familiar with the books of Bokuden(1489-1571)? Thank you!
The hundred years of war by Tsukahara Bokuden? That's definitely a book I intend on reading.
Great!
What do you mean that you cannot recommend the book of 5 rings anymore?
I didn't say that? I read that book once year and 100% recommend it
I think he meant he can’t recommend it enough
@@dragoncrusher92 I think that might be it :( sorry for misunderstanding
It's not samurai ,but musashi's book of five rings did it for me
Wearing a full suit of armor to work is keeping covid safe ;)
Lol someone's probably done that.
