- Onride POV of the Pinfari ZL42 Big Dipper at Curry's Fun Park Portrush. This ride was formerly named 'Looping Star' and 'Barry's Big Dipper' after the parks former name Barry's Amusements. This coaster is nowhere near as rough as it was in 2019 which is surprising after being left to rot for 2 years.
BREAKING NEWS: After 20 years of standing tall over Portrush, the coaster was removed in January 2023 and a log flume now stands on its place, set to open in April

@@PINKHORSEY Appologies for late response, unfortunately, this is not the same big dipper that operated at Currys. That one came from an amusement park in scotland and was repainted in the same colours as big dipper. Funny enough in the promos they actually showed photos of big dipper to illustrate how it'd look!
The ride itself opened in 2022 and at that time big dipper was still operating
I get so sad every time I see an old video of The Big Dipper because it was my favourite ride there and I didn’t want them to remove it.

I'll miss it too but its always good to see Curry's investing in new attractions
Big Dipper was one of my highlights at currys only downside is it left me with a bruise too n my ear due to the safety thing I whacked me head off it while doin the drop
It's famous for being rough and the manufacturer Pinfari has some pretty rough creations

I went just yesterday this ride was crazy it was quite rough
It is so fast at the start

I’ve never been on the Big Dipper but I’m hoping to go on it next time I go

Went on it yesterday and was just above the height limit the only scary part was the first drop what felt like cuchulian in tayto park and the loop was fine but what is the heigh restrictions for beast? But the seats were really weird being so low
Height restriction for the Beast is 1.4M same as Big Dipper

I highly recommend riding it if you're ever up in Portrush! It's really worth a ride
If you sit on the backseat The front or pull it down with a strong is it quite a lot of your time on the first hill

I went on this coaster a couple of weeks ago and I’ve give it a pretty solid rating but the thing that doesn’t make it great is the head injuries you suffer after the ride
Agreeed, once you get taller, you dont bang your head as much on the restraint

How did they film derry girls there
They took multiple shots on the train plus CGI to make it look like the coaster moved, when in reality the coaster didn't move an inch
Speedy Mouse is now called Crazy Caterpillar
Its actually not the same coaster, Speedy Mouse was taken down in late 2021. Currys brought in their own coaster which featured the same layout called crazy caterpillar
