Helen Traubel was an American dramatic soprano who was best known for her Wagnerian roles including “Die Walküre” and “Tristan And Isolde”. She was known for her pure tone, never ending endurance and a voice of incredible power. Her other stand out Operas in included
“Götterdämmerung”, “Tannhäuser” and “Der Rosenkavalier”. “Tristan and Isolde” was composed by Richard Wagner between 1857 and 1859. This is Helen Traubel’s impressive interpretation of the aria “Liebstod” (Mild Und Leise) from Tristan and Isolde.
