The Boss SY-1 Synthesizer offers 121 ways to have a ton of fun. You don't need a hex pickup or any other third party interface gear either. Just your favourite instrument (bass or guitar) that has some sort of pickup. Dial up one of the 11 synth types and one of their variations and you're away. There are subtle sounds and seriously unsubtle sounds. Musical? Yes. Fun? Double yes.

Best review of this pedal ever and I've seen a lot of them. You get to the point right away and the best part is that you actually get great sounds out of it! Other people make this pedal sound horrible but you make it sound like a very useful effects pedal. Plus I like how you added some dirt to it too, sounded incredible! Keep up the great work cheers!

Sounds more like it was straight out of a Mega Drive game. The Mega Drive sounded much better for rock/guitar sounds. The SNES sounded much better for orchestral sounds.

I love the Axis. I was messing around with one in a guitar store, a rare left-handed model. I came so close to buying it and I'm still kicking myself for not getting it.

any idea how will this pedal place in my board? I currently have a noise gate with a built in effects loop and all my dirt pedal is in.
I'm having trouble with lead 1 setting 1. I get no tracking above the 12th fret on the high E string. Bass response is really heavy.

Sounds great Brett. Is it best to place this pedal in front of the amp or FX loop?
Can you wire this up so it sends your dry signal on to your guitar amp, but send the synth tones to a PA?
Have you tried this pedal with vocal input ?
you can't save anything with this, so every tune you have to tweak things for different sounds?

You recommend placing the synth before the distortion?
If you want to mix your lead tone with the synth- put the distortion before the Synth. If you want to make the Synth distorted, put the distortion after the synth.
I find that things that track usually sound and feel far better before dirt. The closer to the front of the chain, the better. Compression is probably the only thing I like before things like the SY1, Pog, Oc3, etc.

I bought one of those things. I couldn't get rid of it fast enough. I've had real guitar synths and keyboard synth. That thing was one very pale imitation.

none of these pedals do some nice soft pads like vangelis and boards of canada. there is the one I forget the name, but they all do this garbage funk filter sound
