This tune is one of my favorites from Ben. He is certainly talented. For me, this remake is very interesting for the use of non traditional pop music instruments and vocals; yet it is contemporary music. Amazing.
Every time I Listen to this Song, a whole movie starts in my head. Kinda like some sort of High Chapparrall, Red Dead Redemption, Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid crossover.
Lyrics: Ooooooo It's always summer in this southern state Where I'm behind the moon, floating in space. But I'm not in hiding just trying not to be found So when I hear my name, I never turn around. Ooooooo Here in the valley they live in their cars As they dream of fields under oceans of stars. And I'm disappearing into that grid Where I'll live out in the open, perfectly hidden. Ooooooo It's always summer in this southern state, And it's a comfortable life in a beautiful place. But something's rattling somewhere inside, And it sounds like it's broken, but in a place I can't find. And it only gets louder with time. Ooooooo
He doesn't quite know what do without a guitar. It's great.
What a treat for Conan's audience. Rare accoustic group arrangement, awesome, love this cover
Such an amazing performance.
I love mariachi, and i love Ben. These two fused together are a beautiful thing...
+Luna Cruz I love both too. I would love to find good mariachi on youtube. Any suggestions? Gracias!
+William Evans WE. Start with Mariachi Vargas, who is one of the best, and take it from there.
William Evans Mariachi El Bronx

this song is officially titled "something's rattling(cowpoke)"
Casi uno hora buscandolo! Gracias por subirlo :D
perfect
Wow
The words are different, but it sounds exactly like that old song called Cowpoke by Eddy Arnold from the late 1940's or 1950's.
Tom Correa I'm pretty sure it's a cover/remake of that song
It’s kinda like Talladega Nights “I don’t know what to do with my hands”

Does anyone know the name of the band?
@@lars7367, this was a solo project (album titled Former Lives) of Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie.
Ben has lost it, and I'm not even mad.
He doesn't quite know what do without a guitar. It's great.
