The yellow color is their proprietary material called PV. It is 500 denier Cordua with 200 denier Kevlar. This keeps the carrier lightweight while giving the strength that beats all competitors. Their carriers are designed for extreme duty use. I have the Tyr Pico assaulter carrier. I bought it in 2012. It has 3 combat deployments and one operational deployment. One of the deployments I was hit with an IED. The carrier has only faded in color over the years.
Tyr makes some of the best made and best thought out stuff out there. i had a Pico Assault and loved it to death. Unfortunately they really dont have the best coverage over the Features online.
Tyr probably has the nicest quality gear of all the producers. I have a helmet cover, some pouches, and handled a bunch of their stuff. Construction is superb.
The yellow material is their patented "ballistic vein", I don't think it actually has any ballistic protection but has a higher structural integrity designed to reduced backface deformation (per their website). TYR Tactical makes high quality (and expensive) products all Made in the USA. From what I understand, it used to be another major company but it's currently owned or managed by former Unit members. Interestingly enough, alot of European SOF units and high end Federal/LE units use their products, every TYR PC I've seen and handled is SUPER high quality and appears very comfortable
Yellow is Kevlar, they did it on everything back in the day to cut weight when most had just started switching to 500d, it’s hard to find information on. Of course it’s not ballistic though. That ingenuity really stoped its momentum after first being implemented.
Pocket inside plate bag is probably forced by constraction so they don't have to sew velcro to the lining material. It doesn't look like to be intended to keep the backer.

The pocket inside the plate bag is for their "Combat vent" thingy, It creates offset between the pads as well as structure to the plate bags.

Do a video combining the front plate bag of a jpc and the rear of a lv 119 and other combos
For what purpose? I make a point of showing Velcro orientation in all my videos so folks will know what mates up.
