    Nate is a very impressive slalom skier. I've had the chance to ski with him once, it was a performance-bettering experience!

    Can somebody explain the number system etc to me please? Thanks

    • @ffhd1clt
      @ffhd1clt Рік тому

      There’s 2 ways to think of it. Most Americans use the number of feet “off” a 75’ line, so when you hear Nate ran “41 off,” that’s 41’ off (shorter than) a 75’ line. The other way to express it is in terms of the actual line length, but in meters. So instead of saying “41 off,” you could say Nate ran his “10.25 meter (length of the line with 41’ removed) pass.”

    The reason there is no money in this sport is because it is a dying sport.

      And it's a dying sport because it's tailored towards the upper income instead of the average household.

      @@Lee-xn8by I’m super upper income and I’m not interested in cutting back and forth . I’m worth 2 million a year and a net worth of 23 million USD. I do it for fun at 15 off @34..2 but I’m not traveling or paying anyone to enter a “tournament”.

    Seriously??? Rather see Fred... You guys are totally insensitive and obviously blind to what he has done. He has damaged the image of waterskiing. He should just retire.

      Unfortunately, years ago World Champions got jobs as performers in Ski Shows for low pay. product endorsements help "pro skiers" and cash prize tournaments have not created millionaires. Top world class skiers need public exposure on TV sports, huge crowds in water venues. Sites that are not hidden ponds in remote areas, glassy water for skiers. The TV exposure of the 1970-1990 is sadly gone. Dick Pope of Cypress Gardens was one of a kind.

    • @Mobev1
      @Mobev1 Рік тому

      @@MFSII agree and you’re a badass and slalom skiing is a great sport. Maybe talk to some engineers and have them shorten the rope proportionally for the skiers so the tall goofy guy doesn’t win everything. Get something like a vice grip to squeeze the rope at a length for the skier instead of set knots so it can truly be equal for each skier independent of height. Send me cash for my idea if it takes off and it will.
