- Midge performing with the Mat Sinner Band and the Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague during the Rock Meets Classic tour 2014. Gives me chills every time i watch this, was an honour to be a part of this tour. Filmed and edited by Randy Black and Oliver Barth "Bömber".
I'm bawling here. He can still hit the notes !1 HE CAN STILL HIT THE NOTES !! This song means so much to me. It always will.
it means so much to me, Oh Vienna
magnificent voice...
he sounds so damn good, sure his high register is marginally less than it was 40 years ago,but who could expect otherwise? He's still got the power in those pipes.
Vienna will always be a classic
This performance is PERFECTION.
Still such a hauntingly beautiful voice, a voice that doesn't grow old
Fantastico!!
2023 and I still claim: THIS IS THE BEST SONG EVER!
Amazeballs!
@@RandyBlackDrums My favorite rock oriented Version of that song
I saw Midge this last Friday at the State Room in Salt Lake City. Very intimate setting with him and his acoustic guitar. Appreciate that he would spend this time with us. Next I want to see him with this setup!!!
Das ist noch Musik. Sonderklasse
Im back in 1981 if i close my eyes
I wasn't born but when I was very young they used to play this on the radio
I am overwhelmed... simply amazing
Midge is an awesome songwriter and beeing backed up by metals finest and the strings. Chills!
A real masterpiece - every time I listen I feel like my heart beats the same rhythm. This is more than words can say.
Jeez... Midge can still belt out a great vocal. Awesome!
It takes me back to 1981 , love it 😍
Amazing song!
Genius! This song always makes me shiver...
One of my all time favorite songs. This song went from an awesome nuromantic song to an epic symphonic ballad. LOVE IT
Love this song and the singer...................
Midge Ure still got it.
Amazing...Bravo!
I have been a fan of midge’s & ultravox since they came out all those years ago, there’s just no words to describe midge that hasn’t been said before about him, I have the upmost respect for him & his singing career threw out the years, I have loved this song & it still gives me the goosebumps when I hear it! Midge you are a musician genius/ legend mate no doubt about it!
Real music!!
What a talent. I didnt think he could out do the live aide version but here he goes
Of course I could be wrong...but NOTHING outdoes the Live aid performance.
It was somewhere above genius.
Esto es música
Legado de los 80's
Una pieza maestra.!!
BRAVO!!
UOOOW!!! Saying this is perfect may not be enough. Love it!!!
What can you say... Midge is a fantastic all round artist. Shame he didn't get the recognition he deserved for Live Aid. He organised EVERYTHING whilst geldof took all the credit. An absolute travesty.
Yea but look at geldof now. Karma's a bitch !
Viena me engancho a mi con 20 años y sigo y sigo 😵😵💫🥱😴
How did it take UA-cam 5 years to send me this way, fantastic version of the song.
Just art!
Absolutely brilliant.
Thank you what was amazing as the music Midge Ure and the music from Ultravox always will be.
The amazing midge ure....best vocalist of his era...looking forward to seeing him at let's rock Scotland in June 2018

I couldn't agree more Harumi!
He kicks it out of the park. Epic.
Awesome ❤❤
Wow, Que voz!!
Why doesn't this video have more views? It's so sad. This song and the singer are amazing. To hear this in such an amazing set up is just awesome! Thank you you for this amazing upload.
Too old for people today..they don't look back enough.. I guess..
Still!!!!
Most people know the studio version, by Ultravox.
The song is very well known.
@@Ratelzwatel Alongside "Dancing with Tears in My Eyes" and "Hymn".
@@kam75 I was born in 1996. And I love that song. I also love the crossover between Pop and classical music on that one.
WOW!!!
Absolute classic❤
15 out of 10!!!!
Still a force!! Bravo!!
I'm shocked that he sounds just as he did when he wrote the song. Amazing.

On drums: Randy Black!
T’was an honor!
His acousticversion is also brilliant ..if you havent seen it check it out on youtube
Amazing. Vox still so Ultra...
Pun intended
Midge puts his heart and soul in to this and the audience was like...🦗🦗🦗 Tough crowd 🤔
The crowd *was* making a noise, but clearly were not mic'd up, so we were hearing them faintly through stage mics. Much like when you have a recording straight off the mixing-desk.
Zo gaaf ❤❤❤❤❤
Fantastic song, very glad to have had Midge at the helm, and liked the near-subliminal Bruichladdich presentation shot at 3:08 ;-) , but from a deeply personal perspective, nothing can beat the original, with CC, Warren & Billy.
Billy had left the band in 2016. So, the band broke up
@@tieukhavu8832 OK...?
@Anthony Rodemus Brilliant Was the eleventh studio album and first album since Lament by the Midge Ure led lineup.
@@tieukhavu8832 Why are you telling me this?
@@Teeb2023 Just a Fun fact
On his CV "Thin Lizzy"
33k views? Pathetic. This was powerful as fuck. This crushes lady Gaga or whoever else.
3:56 reminds you why he was in thin Lizzy
This is excellent but the version at live aid with just ultravox will never be matched 😊
Jeff Daniel's directing 😉
2:10 some one was not pay atention
A lesson in mic control
Jeff Bezos isn't only a great CEO, he's also a great singer.
