Still love this song after all these years and I am a Black American Christian.
It was a cultural reset. 10 years later and it’s still such a masterpiece
@@avrahamcohensaban I watched it in Hebrew school.
now its its 11 years now :(

Agreed.
Absolutely!
Twelve years later, I still love this rendition. Happy Hanukkah!

Bless your heart you rock for not giving up your faith!!!!!
thank you!
I'm a Greek, and I still appreciate how hard this song slaps. Happy Hannakuh and sorry for forcing our ways on yall thousands of years ago.
Haha no problem my friend! It's all good. :) That whole slavery in Egypt thing.... We're still pissed about that one. :P
All good now

We got an 8 day holiday of it, but don't try it again. Please :)
This song is only 11 years old and, while I'm nearly 30, I still feel like I've known it all my life. Genuinely cannot wait to introduce my kids to it someday.

Not only do you learn a bit of Jewish history and traditions, but also you're entertained by these talented, creative guys!! Todah Robah!! Thank you tons!!!
Now, in December 2023, after the horrific October massacre, these Hanuka songs seem particularly meaningful.
💙🕎💙🇮🇱💙
😢❤😢 ty
I changed my mind. October 7th TERMINATED any ppm (parts per million) sympathy left for Arabs, Palestineans, Muslims or whatever they call themselve!!! Their unhuman crimes have not been a declaration of war just to Israel but to EVERY living being that exists!!! ❤❤❤🇮🇱❤❤❤
Go Israel
What's incredible is, these types of videos you don't see "Free Palestine" comments in the comment section. The supporters of Palestine CLEARLY do not know history if they are notorious for commenting that type of stuff yet you see none of them here, or for example anything Maccabean related.
The suffering of the Hebrews should not be tolerated, and it's insane how it's still normalized today. I will always stand with Israel, the Hebrews suffered more than any other race in humanity. They deserve to go in peace.
Long live the State of Judea and Israel! ✡️🕎 Shalom! 🇮🇱

I haven’t heard this for a while I love it!
I' m not a Jew ,however this is so nostalgic. My teacher once played this and I just remembered it and spreads a nice holiday message and lightened the mood in lockdown.😃

Whenever it is a holiday me and my friends persuade our teacher to play this song, and everyone in the class sings along and dances. We love you maccabeats!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
The takeaway from growing up Jewish: I only know the lyrics to this version of the song. Not the real one.
When dynamite comes on I mix all the lyrics with this one. Lol.

OMG YES MEEE
This song never gets old.
The six year old I babysit makes me play this everyday. She isn’t Jewish and it isn’t even Hanukah.
That's adorable. Did she listen to The fountainheads too?
cute - kids are great
@@momkestner why do you think so?
@@WeneedmoreGodsinTshirts because Moe said the 6 yr old she babysits wants to hear the song daily. :)
@@momkestner you said 'kids' not that one specific kid. That's implying that every kid on the planet wants to hear Candlelight by the Maccabeats when they are not Jewish and it is not Channukah.
Happy Hanukkah to my Jewish brothers and sisters from Canada!
I cant listen to the original song without listening to this at the same time
What the real one
What’s the name
What's the original called
I want to mention also, the talent of the director and editor. This is a really fun video to watch.
12 years later and I still love it it’s an amazing song happy Hanukkah
There is so much to appreciate about this song and this group as a whole.
This is the most beautiful Hanukkah song I've heard❤
My freshman year roommate in college was Jewish and showed me this song and to this day I sing parts of it every time I think of Dynamite. Amazing
Thank you! I am in my 50s, but still love to sing this song the entire time I am frying up latkes. This was on repeat last night! :)

This popped up and my brain just flashed back to nine years ago and I remember this video so vividly and when I first watched it, the first time this little Jewish boy had the perfect song to dance to. Great memories! Thanks for this amazingness!
Still love it, years later. My daughter was 10 when this came out - she's 21 now!
Time flies!
It makes me proud to hear young jews around the world to not only continue the tradition, but to inspire others with such a modern beautiful vidio
in the Chanukah tradition
Found this lovely gem after 11 years and it’s still awesome after all this time!!!
i remember my 7th grade math teacher put this on for us, shout out to mr walker
My husband just texted me from the waiting room, irritated by the Christmas mix playing so I'm making him an alt-Christmas list. This is first. Such a banger.

Brilliant as always, absolutely amazing....so damn original their 'poetry' their words, the MaccaBeats....are outstanding, fun, full of knowledge and education for those who just don't seem to understand our holidays, our Jewish Holidays.....thank you for making my first candle lit, my first Night of Chanukah, Sun. Nov. 28th, 2021. Just fabulous!❤💜❤🌈💙 Chag Sameach Everyone!🙏🙏🙏

Thank you Israel for preserving the Word and Jesus. My boys came home from school and said they didn’t want to listen to Christmas songs while we make Christmas cards tonight because we should listen to Hanukkah songs instead. I found another playlist before this one with accordion classical is how I can describe it. This pop song remake was a lot of fun. We played it on repeat. My boys told me about the helper candle in the middle of the menorah. Good work on the song lyrics and video. You all have beautiful voices. Keep up lifting your voices in praises to the Lord. God protect and keep you safe. Amen.
Thank you 🙏
thanks to my jewish boyfriend to showing me this absolute BANGER

So yeah, we're not Jewish, but my ex once thought his relatives were, back a few generations. Plus, I have an aunt by marriage whose mother survived Auschwitz. So I started observing Hanukkah with my kids when they were really little. Now, despite the divorce, finding out my ex's relatives weren't actually Jewish, and my great aunt passing away, my kids are hooked... And not celebrating Hanukkah would be as bad or worse than not celebrating Christmas. Plus, it's a really inspiring story, and more and more Christians are realizing that Hanukkah is important to our religious observances. Tonight I just caught myself saying "it just wouldn't be Hanukkah without the Maccabeats." 😅
Consider Conversion
Consider conversion..o did with my kids. It's rather annoying Christians are using g OUR holidays when they have their own, especially since Xmas wasn't celebrated in Jesus's time
I love how it gives info and good tunes👂💗
This is an amazing song and i puted it in my class and all of fhe kids + the TEACHER! Loved it!!!
I am Jewish and Israeli and I love this song!!!!
In 6th grade one of our teachers had us all sing this. Obviously we all loved it.
SO GOOD!!!!!!! My children listen to it all day
I love this song! Its a great song for everyone.
I remember my history teacher showing us this. That's probably the 1st time I actually wanted to celebrate Jewish heiritage as a Christian. We should know these things since before we were Christian we were Jewish. We should be into our roots as Jews and to have cultural tradition with them. Love you, my breathern! God bless ✡ ✝️
You guys have your own holidays. Jesus didn't even celebrate Hanukkah.
Now if a Jew invited you to celebrate that's diffrent. But to straight up light a hanukkiyah or hold your own seder is massively offensive to many if not most Jews.
Stick to Christmas. If a Jewish friend invites you to Hanukkah party tho you can go. The Hanukkiyah is a special object it's not for Christians to toy with
@@LizzyTheTransWitch The other poster is correct. Jesus did not celebrate Chanukah because it really did not become part of Judaism until centuries later. Yes we were aware of the victory over the Greeks etc, but it was not fully formed until centuries later. Whielwe appreciate the empathy, please stick to your own holidays.
This song is fantastic
