Looks great, what an improvement! One suggestion, when you move that cool neon sign paint the area behind it black so it really pops.
That sign is pimp! Thanks to the viewer who sent it in.
I agree, that sign needs to be showcased.
Props Jeff. It needs to ‘pop’ against that bright wall.
I can't tell from the video (and I know nothing about this), but if the sign is surrounded by lexan (or equiv) polycarbonate on both sides, you might be able to just mount some dark corrigated plastic poster board to the lexan... Seems a non permanent / somewhat durable / moveable / updateable solution that would travel with the sign and not require the wall to be painted in one spot.
I have no idea; just a thought.
It is definitely a cool sign! Awesome viewer contribution!
@@ChurchOfTheHolyMho That might work too, it just needs something dark behind it.
The improvements are impressive Ray. I'd put even more outlets and circuits throughout the shop. I'd go every 10 feet with a duplex outlet.
You are an inspiration ! Thank you for your posts. Helps me unwind after long days . . . .
You could paint the floor on each bay differently, either red, green or blue (RGB) or all one colour with lines between to separate them out.
A bright floor will look better and hopefully easier to keep clean, get some hard surface cleaner, stiff bristled brush and a power washer lol
Paint the floor at the end of the week and have a long weekend off to let it dry, failing that you could do 1 bay at a time to see how long it takes to harden/cure?
It will start to look 'clinical' eventually lol Could even have a 2 tone wall scheme with a darker grey on the bottom about shoulder height in case they get splashed with lube or coolant or marked by dirty hands lol
Will be good to see the before and after, you will be forced to paint the ceiling as it will stick out like a sore thumb (better to do it before the floor though 😀 lol)
It just takes time but a bit here and there when works a bit slack and it'll be done before you realise, you'll be able to put charts and/or product banners up etc so it doesn't look so bare too.
All the best in your endeaviurs though, good luck for the future and all that jazz lol 👍
Dont know how u do it. Run that shop home and edit and make these videos. U make my time in the army look easy 😊
lots of hard work nice looking bright paint looks gud
Ray,
Man, I am so happy for you. Ya know, the offer to you and ARod that if you and he ever come to the westside of Japan I'll take you to the Motorcar Museum of Japan.
5 floor car museum in Komatsu. The airport and plane museum is down the street.
All the cars are capable of running but may need a battery or something like that.
Take it easy bud.
Much love from Japan
Very impressive, keep up the good work.
Love it! Youre doing great ray!
looking good, keep going.
Look'in like a shop, now.
bad ass dude
Getting nicer and nicer every day...
Suggestion: PAINT THE RED IRON BEAMS TO BLUE. Use the same blue color as the car lifts and the tool boxes. It can make a difference; shows that the interior was "designed" not just happened. :)
Agree 100%
I agree also 100% bodymanbob from Alabama ❤😊
Great idea, would look great!
Agreed it would look great
Wow Ray!!!
What a drastic change from when you guys first moved into the building.
You and the “Wife Unit” should be very proud of all the hard work you’ve put into your building and business.
Very impressive for the short time you’ve been there.
Keep up the great work and just remember that God has perfect timing in everything.
Blessings from Oklahoma
I’m really glad to see that you’re upgrading your shop. That’s one of the benefits of being a shop owner is you can set it up how you like it
Your landlord is very lucky to have a tenant that not only improves the value of the property, but treats the workshop with pride. I hope he accordingly is putting in financially towards the upgrade or will keep the rent down. A win for both of you.
I'm so impressed with how far you've come in such a short period of time, Ray! Congratulations to you and Lauren! What a team!
🖖 Live long and prosper!
And the rest of the crew, family, and friends who have helped out!
We are proud of you. Lots of respect! #brakecleanmafia
The shop has come a loooooong ways from when we first saw it. Assuming you took pics of it at move in...take more pix at the 1 year mark. It really is looking so much better and seeing and hearing you talk about things you are definitely boatloads happier...a win-win which you deserve.
You really are kicking butt every which way Ray...in all of the best ways🙂
High fives to you and all who have helped you achieve your goals one day at time🙂
The difference from opening to now is night and day. You guys have done fantastic on this entire business.. really happy for you guys!
If I could make one suggestion, the floor. It would look amazing! Paint or epoxy. Side note, shop looks so amazing. You've come a long way fine sir. Australia is very proud of you
or red oxide paint as it is a tough paint to use .
Having priced an epoxy floor for a three car garage, I shudder to think what it would cost.
My wife and I did epoxy coat with little colored flakes.I painted she sprinkles flakes,it held up for 20 years
@@fubartotale3389 I agree with that 7000% especially here in Australia.
But I think it's something Ray could do himself to save cost, but I think it would equally look good in a light coloured paint. A light paint with Rays lights above the place would be like mint
@@michaelpressman7203 they literally last a lifetime almost. I know it's expensive but considering floors need repaint every few years it actually turns out very cost effective
Ray, shop looks great! Props to your vision for what you have planned.
Great work by Troy, Maya and Lauren on everything they have done!
Emergency Egress. Ray, you mentioned you will remove the only door in the 3rd stall. I encourage you to consider keeping the door that can be opened from the inside. There are OSHA rules on it and the big door does not count as an exit. In addition it might need to be labeled EXIT as well. Since it is hard to judge distances it is difficult to tell from my side .
Remember, you work in a dangerous place! Jim Z - Fan
Ray, after all those years that you spent working for other people , you've grown your own business. Your success on U tube and your mechanical abilities proves the dream is still alive for people that are willing to work hard.
Your attention to detail is one of the many things that has led to your great success. The sky is the limit for you and WIFE UNIT.
The painting is well worth it! So much brighter.
Your shop has come a long since you opened it. You and Lauren should be proud. Only the best wishes to y'all, Ray.
Ray, the cleaned and painted walls look great! It’s hard to believe how much the your shop’s appearance and utility has improved in really the relatively short time since you told “everybody else to get lost. I’m working for myself, the way I want my shop to run.” It’s just outstanding!
Really glad to see the shop doing well. You and the crew have put in a ton of work and it's really paying off. Good on ya, sir!
Ray you have done an outstanding job, always try to balance your Work Time and Family Time, you cant please everybody all the time, but you know what is Most Important. The shop looks amazing, especially considering what it looked like when you 1st moved in, you have come a long way, take a break.🇺🇲❤️👍
The shop looks amazing. The hard work y'all put in to this is paying off. Thanks for the update.
No paint on the floor, but maybe epoxy it it can be cleaned enough. Paint the shelves/crossbeams black to cover the rust. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Ray, you're doing GREAT bud. It's nice to hear the excitement in your voice because you can SEE the progress of all your hard work. There are a lot of people out there that have NO idea about the blood, sweat and tears that goes into taking a business from NOTHING and turning it into a successful venture. Not only that, but keeping it successful is the OTHER half of the battle. KUDOS to you and continued success.
Epoxy floor job. Will look sweet once complete.
The more outlets, the better. Go with 20A instead of 15A outlets. And pipe the air around the shop and drops on each lift.
I'm proud of you, Ray.
Keep doing what you're doing.
It's looking great Ray! A real improvement from that paint already. If you can paint the floor it will look so much better. Epoxy would be wonderful but it can be a nightmare to do right and can take a while too. I think a well-lit tidy shop improves the mood of those working there and of the customers too; so you could end up with more work coming in for you to diagnose and fix.
air conditioning would be the biggest beneficialI improvement that you could make
Looks great Ray. Glad things are coming together for you.
The shop is looking great! You can tell you have put a ton of work into it. You are well on your way to a very successful business.
I cannot give enough kudos to you and your team for doing the awesome job that they have done in the cleaning, painting and total overhaul of your work area. This will greatly improve your work area!
love how things are coming together and how you are making the place truly your own. Being able to take pride and be happy with a space you are in a lot is important.
Rainman Ray.. The shop is definitely looking good. A company called Shark Floor Coatings would be the way to go. They do an awesome job and the floor will look amazing when they are done. And it will last unlike the cheaper floor paint that you have to keep redoing every year or two. It is expensive though, but worth it in the long run.
It's looking pretty good! Looking forward to seeing it when all is finished.
The shop has came a long way, looking very nice 👌 Good job guys 👍👍
Shop is looking amazing, keep up the great work.
Love it, Ray! Wish I was closer to help with the electrical. Former electrician that would love to "give back" for all the great entertainment over the years. It's been truly amazing to see how things have progressed for you, your business, and specially your family. You're definitely one of the good ones.
I wonder if Ray would fly you in and out you up for a few days. Little vacation in Florida with a bit of work! Lol
It's improved quite a bit. Your pride in ownership shows, and it never hurts to look professional for the customers. You're on a roll, Ray. Don't hesitate to find another Apprentice, to share the load. If you burn out, you're no good to anyone. Been there!
You're on a mission! Looks good Cpt Rainman! You're doing great!
Add another fan on that middle wall. Trust me... it will be worth it!!
Your doing everything right man. A very big improvement since you got the building. Looking good. Can only go up and get bigger from here. I'm rooting for you.
Nice!! You've come a loong way! Proud for you Ray!
Ray,
Watching your videos from many of the early ones to now with your own business has been a great and motivating experience. You and your family have put a lot of effort and love into your business and you deserve a great deal of respect for that. If your shop was near where I live I would be bringing you as much business as I can. Keep going as you have something to be very proud of. You have a successful business and from what I have seen in your videos a great family and a great employee with a lot of potential and with a teacher like you he will attain great things. You are one of the true good people in this world.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE... Consult an Electrician for your breaker boxes and outlets.
Amazing progress! Ray you rock!!
Looks fantastic Ray, hard when you're juggling jobs, improvements and family! Look after you and your family!
‘ Ray’s Rapid Fluid Exchange Center ‘ No Fluid Escapes the Rainman………..
I appreciate that you have incorporated (carefully) the Child Size Units in the cleanup and painting... perhaps some pint-sized wrenching projects on this or Wife Unit's channel?
Also, we who love to share your videos with our younguns, VERY much appreciate your commitment to keeping the language as family friendly as Jason & Tosh on Sleeperdude...now you NEED a shop lion and security goat🐈🐏
The shop is looking good ! The black accents look better than I anticipated. Don't fret the unfinished work. Just like any storage shed/attic/junk drawer, it ALWAYS initially looks worse than before you started. You're doing fine. 🏆
Dam Ray, looks like you have sunshine inside. It’s so much lighter and brighter. You and the Wife Unit should be very proud of this transformation.. Congratulations When you’re finished it is really important to feel proud of your accomplishments..
Stain is better for Concrete floors VS Paint because tires will pull paint plus it peel’s on it’s own over time….Epoxy is the best…..But is is about the Money……Flooring Company that does floors need to reach out to you…..🤟🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Just a suggestion .... the dark area above the office, why don't you hide it behind a wall? A few 2x4s and 3/8" drywall could make that area disappear.
Looking good Ray, you are all doing a great job. You'll get there in the end and as the old saying goes SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE.
Painting the walls really helps brighten the place up. That and the new lights are a huge improvement. Don't worry about getting everything done quickly, better to take your time, think it through and do it right. Always look forward to your and your wife's postings and seeing your business come together. And yes, get some rest. Oh and have yourself a great day.
I like it! A great improvement in the aesthetics. Hard to do while still trying to produce work (income). I've been with your adventure from the beginning and all I can say is WOW. I'm sure your customers will see it too.
Projects never end Ray. Lol. I think we all can understand that. It takes time, but how you're going about it is the best way sir😊
I tip my hat to you bud! Plus you're doing everything to hurricane proof your home again on top of everything else. You and your team of great people are doing a fantastic job!!
If you do the floors, be sure to test a sample, or get some kind of confirmation from the supplier. A shop I worked at in the 90s had what looked like the "speckled" epoxy floors, and Brake Cleaner ate it.
I can't be positive it was epoxy, it was the shop/warehouse area in an industrial park and my boss was cool with me working on my cars on weekends.
Looks fantastic man. Congrats on all the success. I watch all your vids. Keep up the great work.
AND you will no longer be able to purchase replacement bulbs known as incandescent shutting down the last of a few jobs in Mexico Now you will be forced to purchase from "country of origin unknown"
And ...YOU did it all . well done Ray. 💪
I used to have a business and know how busy things can get at times. But busy is good, you can manage and you will keep doing well. Just be glad the business keeps coming in the door. Love your videos as always, would probably need therapy without them hahaha. Keep up the good work!
I was a bit concerned when you first moved in but wow, look at it now, good on you & Lauren and your employees. 🇦🇺 All the best from Australia.
looking great and been a blast watching your transform that shop truly making it your own
Ray, as an electrician, I want to tell you that if you're going to add a receptacle outside, make sure it is a GFCI receptacle, make sure you install an in-use cover so you can close the cover with something plugged in, and make sure you put a bead of silicone around the box where it attaches to the wall, and around the in-use cover where it attaches to the box. The gaskets those covers come with are junk. And only silicone the top and sides, not the bottom.
Just an FYI sir. When younger and full of more piss and/or vinegar I painted shop floors. And it never lasts. So you're then forever repainting shop floors. Just for what little it's worth.
Ray, it is truly inspiring to see all the hard work you have put into your shop. With just the paint alone it looks 100 times better and really brightens up everything. I wish I lived closer to you to bring my vehicle to you for service as you are confident in any issue that comes your way. Keep up the good work and look forward to more videos.
Ray must not have been the Florida man who won 1.5 Billion dollars. He's still there.
7That was Billion not Million the one time payment will be about 760,000,000.
Wow! What a difference. I remember when you first walked into that shop and it had terrible aesthetics. Probably feels a lot better to work in as well. I have been told that sleep is over rated. Seriously, though you have to do the work for a living, the posts for sharing and also a bit of income I am sure, and then there is the family time. Doesn't leave a lot of time for sleep though.
Keep up the good work.
Looking good now Ray and the hard working team, I'll bet if you posted a video asking for people to help clean and paint, you would be overwhelmed.
Ray, you are doing GREAT! Take a moment, step back, and take it in with your family by your side. A+ buddy!
Ray it is appearent that yours and the wife units efforts and hard work are coming together. You are living proof that having honesty, honor and integrity is paramount to true success. I pray that God saturates you and your family's life with great health, love and life.
Nice for you... and nice for us. Great job and thanks for showing us around as you go along. Makes it feel like we're a part of it all. You can certainly be proud of your shop!
Oh man what a huge improvement! You gotta love working in that new bright environment! I think it's great how you are taking charge of your place so much neater.
You are doing so much better than you think you are. Keep it up
Ray it looks amazing
1. someone said paint the red iron the blue of the lifts that would be cool as hell
2. white is not the right color for behind that neon sign
3. painting the floors would be good as well
-get some proper floor coating for oil, non slick, and easy cleaning
The shop is looking great Ray! That’s a lot of hard work and quite an investment in time and money. Looking forward to the (will it ever really be) finished product 👍
Love the direction you're going with the clean/paint job !! 😎💯💯
I’d be a lot happier if you had an electrician come and sort out all your electrical needs. Some of that stuff you’ve ripped out was alarming!
Do not paint your floor. You will create the biggest mess that you will regret. Unless you deep clean and shoot peen the floor that will provide some "tooth" for a floor coating to stick. Notice I said floor coating. The only problem with floor coatings and paint is they are slick as glass when wet. And clear sealer is also not the answer. Best suggestion, keep the concete as is and learn how to clean the floors.
Shop looks different all cleaned and painted will look so good when it's all finished , the amount you've accomplished since u started in there is crazy I love the new content
You are making good progress. It is pleasing to see you succeed with your plans. Stay healthy.
Great improvement. If I may you can also pain the roof (under side only), it would help a lot I think.
You're doing great Ray .
Don't knock yourself down.
Try and prioritise your workload.
Say hi to everyone.
Im over in England just outside Tunbridge Wells Kent.
Wow the shop is looking so great
So much brighter
You your wife and your employees have done a phenomenal job
The paint looks great. I love the Neon light. Would epoxy on the floor be better than paint? Love seeing these shop updates
Looks awesome, it's amazing what a fresh coat of paint can do, it looks so bright and clean now. I think leaving your last job has been an amazing thing for you as you seem to be going from strength to strength. I love the fact too that the wife unit is keen to get in and do some of the smaller maintenance jobs in the shop you guys are inspiring and I know the knowledge and wisdom you impart to Troy will set him up to be just as successful.
When adding outlets, use drop wiring. They are like extension cords with outlets on the end where they are on a pulley system like shades where they can retract up when you don't need them. There is a stopper on the cord you can adjust so the cord retracts high enough where you can still reach it when not in use.
Nice job man, one thing at a time. Appreciate the videos, I learn a lot from you.
Painting the ceiling would provide a lot of extra lumen reflectivity.
@RainmanRaysRepairs & @wifeunit , I don't comment very often but the shop looks great. You have both come a long way in a short period of time. I can't wait to see what's next, I don't miss a video. Keep up the great work!
It is looking a lot better. Are you going to paint the ceiling a bright white? It would really help reflect the light.
Looks great! Great to see things coming together and how much progress you have made. Two thumbs up!
