Boardwalk Deli at Walt Disney World Has The Meats

- Boardwalk Deli opened at Disney's Boardwalk in August 2022 replacing Boardwalk Bakery. This iteration leans a bit more into a New York/New Jersey style deli and it actually gets surprisingly close to representing the north.

If you compare the tomato soup and grilled cheese with the one in Hollywood don't forget to go to Beaches and cream for their tomato soup and grilled cheese too
The music sounded like ‘Tower of Terror’ to me at the Boardwalk in this video. Which makes sense bc of all the terrifying artifacts there
I grew up in upstate NY (Ithaca), and Craig's right: the half-moon cookie is definitely a local favorite! It was a special treat from our local bakery during my growing-up years. And the Boardwalk Deli got it right: chocolate cake base with white and chocolate frosting. Can't wait to try in when I next come down!
we stayed at boardwalk last week, and honestly boardwalk deli had the best food on property as far as quick serve is concerned.
“Let’s be honest, it’s the bread that makes the sandwich”. Amen brother! It’s so hard to get a perfect cheesesteak outside of Philly because it needs to be on Amoroso rolls. The meat can come close but without the roll it just isn’t the same. Btw I love the DIS channels! Craigy hungy!
Another great review! Thanks Craig
Are you guys and gals going back to Le Chefs de France anytime soon? Seems like it's time for a re-visit?
As a New Yorker I’d say get rid of that pesto on the Italian sub and just put some oil and vinegar and salt and pepper instead. Also get some rainbow cookies and rugelach and change that half moon nonsense to a regular black and white and you’re good 👍
Guess what..just because that’s how they do it in ny doesn’t make it the best….
@@shawnokeefe1580Generally ye, but if they are selling it as a New York sandwich then it should be done the traditional way it would be made in New York.
Thank you! Completely agree! I was like what’s a half moon, that’s a black and white cookie. I had to actually look up what a half moon is. It’s Boston’s version of the black and white. Disney must have just liked the name better I guess
@@shawnokeefe1580 lol I didn’t say anything about it being the best because it’s from NY. I was just commenting that if they are attempting to create a genuine NY/NJ style deli then that’s how it would be done. Funny how commenting on a sandwich and a cookie could create such a semi-hostile reply lol
Forget about the pesto. What is REALLY an abomination is that the Italian sub comes with mayonnaise!! No. No. No. A thousand times no! Oil and vinegar, people. No self-respecting northeast deli makes mayonnaise an "automatic inclusion." Sure, they'll put some on if you ask, (after giving you the stink eye). But it is never an automatic addition. Heck. Even Jersey Mike's gets this right. "Mike's Way" is O&V, not mayo.
On my list of places to try this year. Thanks Craig for the review!
You haven’t been to NY deli recently because $12 is not out of line
My experience is more with NJ delis where the price is similar but portion is double. Sadly I haven’t spent enough time in NY so I can’t speak to anything really outside of deli sandwiches at Juniors haha
My favorite deli for pastrami in South Jersey is 16.00 for half of a sandwich. However, you could get 3 sandwiches from all of the pastrami
@@christiel2143 Kabitz Room, Short hills deli (when it was around)
@@ballsdeep3931 kibitz room!!!
@@DisneyDining very true, the portion would be a lot bigger here in NJ for a similar price
I can get the half moon here in Central NY with chocolate or vanilla bottom.
Thats gonna be my dinner on Oct31!! Even here in MA a deli Reuben is 10.99 with no sides.
Looks like a huge upgrade. When I stayed at the Beach Club in 2019, there seemed to be a lack of quick service in the area.
Love the DIS keep up the good work !
That lunch looked GREAT ! Good review as always, but I’m glad it was good and you didn’t have to take one for the team and warn us. lol
Can’t wait to see you guys do the grilled cheese show down.
Pastrami looks amazing. I think your 'cookie' was more like a brownie.. perhaps a cake-y brownie?
It was fully cake. Not dense enough to be a brownie. It was definitely a first for me.
Great review! Hope you go back for the Italian sandwich for us sometime.
Traditional NY Black and White Cookies (Or Half Moons) are cake based but with Yellow Cake.
Staying at The Boardwalk in January and looking forward to trying this new Deli. Thanks for your review!
Great job. Again.
That looks delicious. I miss the reviews where your wife dines with you.
The sandwich looks delicious!
Great review! Being a chocoholic, I would probably love that half-moon cookie.
😀👍
Is the pastrami really New York style?
Are the sandwiches fresh made per order?
Pastrami was made fresh, but I’m not sure about the cold sandwiches. I’d say those probably aren’t.
I have not been to the new Boardwalk Deli, but the NJ crumb cake at the Boardwalk Bakery was not a good representation of NJ crumb cake.
I figured it wouldn't be! lol
Okay, no genuine nyc deli ever pinwheels the meat……it should be laid flat on the bread. As for the half moon cookie, why in the world would you do that instead of the very traditional black and white……..?
Craig stop putting thumbnails of you eating. It’s not appetizing and sort of scary.
