      That’s funny. This nation is proud to have a college named after them. They protested when the college was trying to change the name to something less offensive. I’m so honored to serve a few of these amazing and talented dancers and musicians after these performances. I’m also very happy to be part of a sister tribe to the Utes. Very good and awesome people! They are also very kind

      A bit of background for those who are not familiar with the University of Utah's history with the Ute Tribe. It has had an agreement with the University to use their name since 1972. They were consulted on our mascot changes after the Crimson Warrior was retired in the 80's. We have a red tailed hawk as our mascot, it is sacred to the tribe. The tribe just signed a renewal in 2020 for 5 years to continue this partnership.
