- 'Russel Jones aka Ol' Dirty Bastard was born on November 15th and he passed away on November 13th. Every year, his family and friends wish that more people celebrated these dates. The Live from the Streets crew and ODB's family have teamed up to create a special episode out of old VHS tapes. The episode drops to celebrate the legendary artist and to remind people to always remember this week as both a high and low point of hip hop culture. In the end, we all need to celebrate the legacy of ODB.'
Huge thanks to ODB, Momma Cherry, Rza, Ashley, Barson, Menace, Missery, Icelene and of course Sean the White Rapper for making the whole thing happen. RIP to the legendary ODB, he will never be forgotten.

He was a good man with a big heart. It’s hard to watch how he was slowing down toward the end. The media treated him as a laughingstock while he was struggling to deal with the pressure of his career. He was never the drunk deadbeat they made him out to be. He was a great talent, clearly trying to find balance between his family and the job that allowed him to provide them with a life he never had

Seems like he was a genuine, fun loving guy who got caught up in addiction. ODB is america personified, wild-in your face- but all done with a touch of grace and mad love. Rip big homie
I met him when I lived in New York. He came on my block sterling between Rochester and buffalo, Brooklyn New York. He was mad cool and did not act like a celebrity at all. He came to visit this guy that they said they was brothers. He brought a whole bunch of old E beer for a lot of people. He spoke, hugged shook hands with everybody. I didn’t no him personally and I didn’t interact with him very long but the brief time was so cool and he had us laughing, but he was definitely very energetic and wild but seem fun

Its 2023 and I still miss Dirty. He was the only rapper in the game you really felt the most relatable to. You flaws and all. Your imperfections make you perfect. And you know God made dirt and dirt don’t hurt.🐝🕊

You peeps might like this story....Dirt's bus showed up in my hood back in 95...We had a Mr Freeze records in the strip mall (Raleigh North, shout to the Bag's)...and there was a Laundromat next to Freeze....we rolled up to Dirty pissing on the wall 😳....😅...He was at the wrong Freeze, didn't know where the one downtown was so we escorted his bus to the one he had to be at... Needless to say it was a wild night after...He backed the Jakes off us..Showed nothing but respect and we gave it right back.He was just a down to earth man that got a lil wild sometimes...Great talent but his momma's right, couldn't sing...😁 R.I.P....👐

@@teahgurl Yes actually 25 years ago this month. Wu-Tang came to the Rochester Riverside convention center in July of 1997. At the end of the show we were all out in front of the building and ODB came walking by us signing autographs. I was just about to have them sign mines but he got mobbed by a bunch of girls. It was weird seeing him in person because he was skinnier than what I thought. Now that I look back on it he probably was going through a drug abuse phase and losing weight rapidly.
