It’s too easy Here's a simple recipe to make mozzarella sticks at home:
Ingredients:
- 12 oz (340g) mozzarella cheese, sliced into 1/2-inch (1.3cm) thick sticks
- 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup (60g) breadcrumbs (preferably Panko)
- 1/4 cup (30g) grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 cup (240ml) marinara sauce (for dipping)
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
1. In a shallow dish, mix flour, breadcrumbs, and Parmesan cheese.
2. Dip each mozzarella stick into the beaten egg and then coat in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
3. Heat about 1/2-inch (1.3cm) of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (180°C).
4. Fry the mozzarella sticks in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
5. Remove from oil with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
6. Serve hot with marinara sauce for dipping. Enjoy!
Tips: Use high-quality mozzarella cheese for the best flavor. If you want to bake instead of fry, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until crispy and golden brown.
