It's a pleasant surprise to see Kai pop up as an interviewee. Saw him live a few years back and he was just incredible.
I loved this trio. I first saw them back in '89, as I recall.
I saw the duo with John and Jonas, and I also saw the gig with Jeff Berlin and Trilok which was in a church in Frankfurt. Too bad, I missed the Kai John Trilok Gig.
Kai is in my top 10 favs! Seen him in '08 with Garaj Mahal! Phenomenal show, phenom man, and phenom player!
Kai is my Master, and it is heart-warming to see this interview. I hope you learned a lot from him because he is one of the most enlightened human beings I have ever met, and I am honored to have studied under him. Thank you for sharing this.
The greatest compliment a musician like Kai Eckhardt could get is to have someone like John McLaughlin ask him to play with him. I can't add anything to that except to say McLaughlin sure knows how to pick them..
Kai is such an incredible musician! So much to learn from this man!
The Story about Meeting John Mclaughlin at bis Home ist too hard!!👏👏Thank you vor having this!
Nice interview. Some remarkable music was forged by the trio that included Kai, some that should be required listening, in my humble opinion.
Epic!
John McLaughlin was a force before stanley clark left junior high, how old is this guy ?
Brilliant.
I saw JMT with Kai live in '89. Musical rapture....
And Domonique Di Piazza has also arrived, it seems to me? very good bassist player too.
Hello Scott,
Thanks for all your lessons, they help me to step up my game!
I never had the time to watch all your lessons so i decided to make a schedule.
I want to watch three lessons a week so that i can catch up with your videos.
The problem that im facing is that i do not know where to begin.
Some early lessons are pretty difficult (as you mentioned in your video last week.)
I can feel that they are too hard for me at this moment.
That brings me to this question: Do you have some sort of guide that shows which video's i have to watch in order of difficulty and essence?
That way i can study your lessons the most effective and efficient way. There must be other bass players with the same problem.
Thank you!
Tak
By the way, I'm still waiting for your complete bass version of Human Nature by Michael Jackson ;)
SCOTT where's the giveaway results
Pasha's love was my love was a teenager
@@chikkipop yes in the 90s. My friend was a drummer and I played bass and he got me into fusion. Tragically he died at 21, but lives on in so many ways.
@@joannalewis5279 Sad to hear about your friend, but I hope you've continued to play. You started out with pretty good taste!
Yup. that sounds precisely like Jeff Berlin.... Great player, bad attitude. That attitude has cost him so many missed opportunities with great musicians and composers alike.
Wicked... I paid £7.49 for Live At The Royal Festival Hall, November 27, 1989 when it came out....One of my all time favourite albums!!
