People still play it. The game is still there but I get ya... Sad that Arena Shooters like UT2K3/4 and Quake 3 Arena are gone. Well Quake is a bit alive but not like back in the days.
Oh And Unreal Championship: The Liandri Conflict was a damn masterpiece too.

Man, I miss this game. We were too poor to have a PC that could run it, but that didn't stop us trying. Lowest settings, 20 FPS. Those were the days. Now I play games at the highest settings at 1440p/144Hz. The thing is, I still loved my days with UT just as much. Money can't buy happiness.

Recently I reinstalled this gem after years and I don't know how I could've stopped playing it for so long. It not only still holds up perfectly, but it's also better than a lot of today's games.

this game was epic... when i was in high school for micro computer service technology class after all the mundane stuff was over.. our teacher was so cool he let us all land line and play this together in school.... many great memories!

this game is way ahead of its time. custom maps, mods, custom game modes.... fuck it had everything..... 14 years old and this game completely shits on the FPS games we have today.

Just bought it yet again (third time) on GOG. It's $2.99 right now.
This game had so much going on. Double jumps, dodge jumps, wall dodge jumps, adrenaline abilities, vehicles. UT3 was nice, but they took the art direction to a whole different direction. I don't know about Unreal Tournament (for Unreal Engine 4), but I feel like they killed it releasing an unfinished game and expecting the community to finish it.
How do you mean unfinished? I always got confused about it and i ve only played UT 2004
@@papaGimis22 It wasn't a completely finished game. Some maps just had polygon models. They weren't any support for vehicles. No singleplayer campaign.

Lol I remember being in some computer class in the 10th grade, and this game was already downloaded on the PC I chose from another student. I loaded up and saw a LAN game active. Like 6-7 people in my class were playing and I joined. They didn't suspect me at all, and I could hear this one guy mald every time I got a kill on him. Good times man.

Somehow my school still has this game and I'm the best at it with the worst sensitivity, now I think when I'm gonna be in 6th year and it's my last day of school and not being able to see my classmates ever, or this game and my teachers.... Man I wish life would stop at your teen age sometimes, but we gotta move on to live our lives.... Ugh, I'm making myself sad now.

Long before Fortnite we had Unreal, Quake, and CS_1.6. Players got to decide the rules. Mods were everywhere. Times were good.
This is like one of the first games I played instead of playing dolls and dress up like a normal 5 year old girl I sat at a pc and played unreal tournament 2004 🧍♀️ I am now 14 and I still think it’s one of my favorite comfort games
Wow I can't believe it will be 20 years old. I was more of a quake guy but started playing this in 2004 . I really liked it . The only thing was , I had to get used to the movement. It was different than quake bunnies hoping movement

I played the shit out of the demo until my mom bought me the game for my birthday. I have fond memories of my friends installing the demo on the computers in the computer lab in middle school, and all of us playing LAN together after school while we waited for our parents to come pick us up. I would give anything to go back and experience the joy for just 1 day

ever get those errors where it crashes and theres a notice that tells you to submit a bug report? I aint gonna say this works cause I only tried it twice, but I find when you run the game as an administrator, the error doesn't show up anymore

Where can I find UT2004. It is not available on gog nor on steam. I found a cd key on kinguin but the cd key is not the actual game is it. As I understand it I still have download the game from somewhere and then use the cd key to enable it? I don't know. Does someone have any idea.

These are all players, if people have custom skins and you don't have them downloaded and loaded, they take on the default player skin which is Jakob, in my mind I think of *Agent Smith* lol
Did anyone else like to stretch skins on the character models and try to make new characters? I don't remember how it worked but it was a past time when I was a kid.
I just started to understand how flawed the game Unreal tournament 2004, 2007, 2014 and others are. Quake is a cut older and more honest to players. The exception was in UT1999, but even there was such a bad engine along the X and Y axes

Jordan Curtisk - Most people play Onslaught and for DM and CTF there are a few servers which always have people playing and are semi-full most of the time. That's how it was a few months ago, but I don't think the amount of people playing has decreased by a significant margin.

The number of players has long been very little to almost no one on servers .. it is the hard true
Hopefully they do not forget how super adrenalines UT2004 was , the new UT bring us back to the gamers and assumes new generation of enthusiasts gamers and finally get me out of the 13 in a dozen shooters .. cursed ..
