I have a table that has been damaged. The resin has some cracks and in a few places it has separated (fallen off) from the onyx.
Would you remove as much of the old resin as possible and then do a pour?
It's an abalone and gold onyx coffee table by Arturo Pani, if you'd like to check and see an example online.
I can't find anything about this type of repair, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much, even if you don't answer me lol.
@@sheamaddy9893 you can fill in the cracks with a brand new batch of epoxy and sand it to level it.
@@upstartepoxy4804 that's kinda what I thought but wasn't sure. Thanks a bunch, I do appreciate it
Loved this! 🤩
When something like this happens in art, we call them "happy accidents" I found that those happy accidents always work to give better results, as you proved here.
Totally agree with you, Natalie!🙌
Thankyou for your Epoxy Resin video
Man I felt your pain when it broke into 2 pieces. I had a board this week that felt like it was cured. I took it out of the mold. Then came back a few hours later and almost cured epoxy was oozing out of the sides. 🤦🏽 This vid gave me good insight how I can fix it. Thanks!!!
Aw, that’s the worst! Glad we could help!
Wow amazing work!!! 👏🏼
This is awesome!!
I love the passion I can truly here the authenticity in you voice as an artist 👨🎨 🤘🔥🪵🧩🪐🎉🎨🎭🖼
Glad that you appreciate this!🥰🥰
A broken painting dropped on accident is what brought me here. Other than your helpful tips, the encouraging message is the more valuable takeaway from me. Thank you!
Wow! Thank you so much for the positive words. We are glad that we are able to help you. Cheers!😊
Great video sad to see it break. You did a fabulous repair. Crazy how a flood coat bring the color back to life. Learned something new today
Glad you learned something today! Thanks for watching, Anthony!
While mixing the clear coat for flooding, I thought u were gonna flood the house 🤣. Looks beautiful
LOL! That would be a lot of epoxies then! 😂Thanks for watching by the way!
Omgosh this is gorgeous. I have some epoxy but haven't been brave enough to use it yet. I will be watching all your videos.
Thank you for watching!!
What projects do you have in mind? 💪
@@upstartepoxy4804 I want to do some pieces on wood or something to hang up. My dream is to one day do my son's playroom floor to look like the ocean. His playroom is a jungle theme and I thought an ocean floor would be perfect. I know that will take lots of resin though. I have a small table that I'm going to start practicing on the top to make it look like marble. I've been watching videos for a few years and I'm obsessed with what can be done with this.
@@SouthernBelle
Brilliant idea!! Yes, you can work with small tables first just a startup project. If you want to achieve a marble look, you can watch our video here:

You should try working with carbon fiber and epoxy. Talk about ups and downs as well as artistry to make custom pieces. Still do much fun.
Carbon fiber sounds cool! Added this to the list. Thank you!! 👍
The royal we?
Yep no one has to know but you that something was messed up if you fix it carefully. :P I also love that this video shows that something handmade is not indestructible. I have encountered quite a few people that believe since it was not factory made then it should not break... ever. Sorry but if I make a ceramic cup that you bought then you buy a factory made ceramic cup and then drop both... chances are both with break. :P - Heidi
Agree..something handmade is not always indestructible. But as the saying goes, some things can be fixed. Some things are just too broken 👍
Thanks, Heidi for always staying on top of our videos!
This is fuckin beautiful lol. I’m a finish carpenter but I think I wanna switch trades 😂
You got yourself a sub👍🏽🤙🏽
@@reeceezyy29Thank you so much for your support! Don't hesitate to explore more projects and let us know how they turn out! 🙌
is that black walnut wood?
I think I mightve broken it more and then tried to make it look like a lightenin bolt with transparent light blue epoxy.
How do you use that piece. Looks good on a wall or something.
You can use this piece as a bath board, charcuterie board or presentation tray, or a wall shelf!
walrus oil?? expliannnn please
You should do a video on how to properly hold things.
😅
I've read so many articles trying
to learn the basics about epoxy. I
can't understand how the
different layers bond. Is it not
true that epoxy doesn't bond to
cured epoxy??
Of course, it isn't! In fact, if you decide to add more depth to your project you would have to wait for the current layer to fully cure before you add another layer.
Good epoxy wouldn’t split like that
Agree..epoxy once fully cured is tough and can withstand a lot of mishandling, but it could still be broken, chipped, or cracked when dropped on a very hard surface!
