    Great review. I was surprised how good the video from the cam looked. Also I hope other webcam manufacturers start adding some of these configuration options.

      The software is totally the highlight. The camera as a RAW UVC camera is decent, but not great, but the software control brings it up several notches.

    Thanks. I would have turned the music off while testing the microphone for a better quality assessment.

      That's fair feedback. Thanks and lately I've been trying not to conver non-primary microphones, because sometimes there is also hiss or other noise, beyond the sound profile at ~18 inches.

    Would you consider the microphone in the Lumia better or worst than the Logitech Brio 4K?

    EXCELLENT review, thank you! I was debating between this camera and the Razor Pro Ultra. I think I'll go with the Lumina.

      Lumino better & cheaper than Kiyo Pro Ultra?

    @DeployJeremy just discovered you - really great content! How do you compare Lumina versus Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra? On your Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra video the image quality seems so bad compared to the lumina. Even worse than my Logitech Brio 4k, which surprised me greatly, since I wanted to upgrade to a webcam with some shallow DOF. Lumina's "DSLR-like quality" marketing seems tempting. And which webcam do you consider currently the best?

    • @DeployJeremy
      @DeployJeremy  7 днів тому +1

      Depends. The Lumina is all software based optimization. It has mirrorless camera level controls. If you have a GPU and can run Nvidia Broadcast, it still has the best background segmentation for software based bokeh blur. The Kiyo Pro Ultra was a little disappointing, since I paid over $300 landed. It has a big for webcam sensor, but as mentioned f1.7 doesn't show much unless your room is like 5-10 meters deep behind you. For that I would do a Sony ZV1F for about the same price.

      @@DeployJeremy thanks for reply! I gradually come to conclusion, that there is no plug and play webcam with comparable quality to dslr :( If I may one more quedtion - is there any plug and play solution in dslr? (Or at least as close to it as possible). Have not found any video quide so far :(

    I don't like the Lumina. No matter what I do it's filmed on a slight lag or weird frame rate. I want my mouth to be smooth when talking. Any fixes for this?

    • @DeployJeremy

      The more effects you add in the video chain, the more it will lag audio. Are you using it for streaming or online meetings? For streaming you can set up audio delay to match.

      @@JBeanz76 If you're using OBS in the chain at all, it supports audio delay. I tend to see about 55ms delay for video with light processing and more depending on if you're using background replacement, filters like Snapchat can triple that even on powerful machine. The Lumina has some local compute, and likely adds some audio delay based on the process, but if you can measure the delay, you can work it into your audio chain.

    I've noticed a new microphone you have been using on the last few videos. What is the make and model of that microphone?

    • @DeployJeremy
      @DeployJeremy  8 місяців тому

      It's a no name condenser microphone, but I think it's not ideal unless I'm right up on it. There is a bit of reverby echo at 18inches or so that isn't there when I use a dynamic microphone. I also bought a lower priced Fifine dynamic USB/XLR mic I was thinking about reviewing, but that one only works with XLR, so I think I'll be going back to my Shure MV7.

    • @Rosko333
      @Rosko333 8 місяців тому +1

      @@DeployJeremy Unfortunately that will be the case with almost any condenser unless extensive sound treatment has been done to your recording space. Have you considered a shotgun microphone with a hyper-cardioid pickup pattern? That might help with some of the reverb pickup.
