After watching this, I think I'm in the category of an ex Running Channel runner.
My wife bought me some running shoes for Christmas. Couldn't wait until Christmas day (I had to try them out obviously). BTW Queen's Greatest Hits is on my running playlist.
Missed the Christmas Grinch - the runner who uses running as an excuse to get out of doing anything to do with Christmas.
The 12k’s of Christmas. 😂 You forgot the Santa Runner - Out and back so early, friends and family are debating its existence (until you proudly show your device’s distance 🤣)
Although I do love getting in a good Christmas morning run through the neighborhood, there is something almost spiritual about running at sunrise on New Year's Day (weather permitting). Seems to set the tone for the whole running year for me.
Sounds lovely, Robert!
I went to a Christmas Day parkrun a few years ago (My myself as a 60 year old) and the race director asked this question, "Kids how many of you have been told you can't open your presents until we have done the Xmas Day parkrun?". Just about every child there but their hand up.......
😂😂 poor kids!
It’s the mad smiling at other Christmas Day runners for me
TRC team has been on its A-game with the videos lately! Keep 'em coming!
Thanks Marie!
Uhh, Sarah---that sounded pretty darn good!!
Spot on! We love running to church so much that our 'church clothes' have become shorts and a tee, even when its snowing. My nutso thought....
Do you think they'll mind if I show up for Christmas Mass in my running gear? I can sit in the back, maybe, run up to communion last-- A little bit of Christmas cheer, Merry Christmas, our Lord has come!! Fa--la-la- la.......
I ran in a Cristmas running event today and crushed my PB of 10K. It's 44 mins and 23 sec now, yay!
Congrats! 🙌👏
New slightly freaked out subscriber because Anna is running my routes! I had my suspicions, but this video confirmed it. And I can see that you never film yourself on the uphill bits
I’m personally called out by that Magpie stereotype!. I’m running in the dark (cause it gets dark at 4:30pm here), but MOSTLY because there are so many CHRISTMAS LIGHTS!!!
Definitely, finding my running routes are merely Christmas decoration spotting now! We intend to keep ours up until Candlemas
Christmas lights and Christmas music are literally what motivate me to run in December when it gets dark earlier and colder outside!
I am absolutely a magpie runner 😁.
Oh I love "The 12 k's of Christmas"! Might have to steal that one 😂
Certainly guilty of the "It's not cold" runner - shorts and t-shirt year round - though I would never claim to be working harder than others. I just get hot if I'm covered up - except for my fingers, so short, shirt... and gloves (no woollen hat though!)
Great way for magpies to look at their shiny metals is to hang them on their Christmas tree as ornaments 🎄
Excellent idea!
You'll always have the trails to yourself on Christmas. Great time to run for that reason alone.
Anna, you are hilarious 😂
Watching this in May made me very happy.
Yeah, Rick, kicking back with chocky and new kit in front of the tele - forget running on Christmas day
😂😂
So clever and entertaining. I loved it!
Finally getting a chance to catch up on my you tube. Also it's officially Christmas at our house (we finally watched Love Actually). "It's so much more than a box." Looking forward to the Christmas Day run, but first it's the Winter Solstice run.
Y'all are crazy! I love you guys!
❤️😁🙌
Smashed those high notes 👏🏻👏🏻
“Classic” - Dallas Smith, “Christmas in the Country” Thomas Rhett. I used these songs all year…HAHA!
Absolutely the "its not cold" runner! Was running in -4 snow in shorts and told my lecturer (who is a runner too) its not that cold! haha But I would definitely shout across the neighbourhood that I ran in the snow in shorts too!
Wow!! We run in two layers in 14 degree C😬
For me it's not so much "it's not cold" as "I'm really warm". As soon as I stop all the layers go on!
@@lukedaniel7669 Agreed! All the layers once you stop!
Superb I like your spirit
Absolutely loved this video!
Thanks for watching!
Lol brilliant x
So True!! And "Wow!" uploading 2 great videos in 2 days!
😊🙌❤️
Christmas idea for those of you out there who kind of stick your metals from Races in a drawer and then forget about them. It’s very easy to turn them into Christmas ornaments for your tree.
Love this!
That was literally me, when I was on Christmas Eve and Day, I went out on 2 30 minute runs playing "Run Run Rudolph" from Chuck Berry and it was awesome, as well as a little scary because some people in my neighborhood were looking at me like I just touched their private parts or something like that, but most of the time, it was quiet relaxing and felt brilliant :D I know this is very late but Merry Christmas and a Happy 2023 New Year! :D
100%. I'm one of those a**holes who runs in a tank top year round. Thanks for another laugh!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love to do a Christmas Eve run early in the morning when it's still dark and see the Christmas lights in my neighborhood
That sounds lovely!
Ok, I know I'm coming to this in July 2022, but the 12Ks of Christmas is an EXCELLENT idea (I will be including that in my Christmas card delivery runs this year-I didn't even realize I was part of a stereotype!! Ha!)
it's never cold on Christmas Day when you live in Australia... Running in 30+C heat sure helps my weight loss goals, lol. My local park run is running on Christmas morning; if I didn't have a 5 year old who will be undoubtedly excited to open gifts I'd probably do it, but I think I'll just do New Years the week after instead...
Do it in Cairns! That’s where I’ll be.
@@cejay67 I wouldn't be against that; I'm in Adelaide but I've been there once, though I spent most of my time up in the tablelands; I'd move up there if I could, such a nice part of Australia
Do the Christmas Day parkrun you'll enjoy. If not volunteer to make sure it happens
I'm looking forward to Christmas. Finally some time to up my milage
Great plan!
Right now on my playlist it’s Tim Burton’s the nightmare before Christmas soundtrack our family is obsessed with the soundtrack and the movie. Sometimes I find myself singing on my runs. Lol 😆
From the U.S. and love your channel. You made me laugh this morning! I wish I'd thought of some of these excuses when my kids were small!
😂😂 glad we could help!
I usually go on a run on the 24.12 in the morning (in Germany thats the most important christmas Celebration Day). I'm absolutely not into christmas, but on this run i turn on my christmas playlist for the first and last time of the christmas season. Later at dinner with my family i casually drop all the informations about my run 🤣. This year i'll be in Sweden for Holiday but i hope i can manage to hold on to my running tradition. Hopefully theres not knee-high snow on the roads.
Xmas day park run 👍🏻
Honestly The Barenaked Ladies' Christmas album has a lot of tunes that make for choice running music, no matter what time of year. Particularly the collab with Sarah McLoclan (sorry for the spelling)
This will be my first Christmas parkrun on Strava. I will be wearing my "BAH! HUMBUG!" T-shirt and a festive smile.
Amazing!
Merry Christmas
Australian Edition: The "It's not hot" runner who wears festive jumpers and doesn't seem to sweat at all despite it being 28 degrees celcius at 7am. Also, being a magpie runner is a bit different here. It happens in September when you get a PB trying to outrun an aggressive magpie. I'm not after your eggs!!!
I am 100% a mapgie!! With a Christmas playlist too of course!
Don't forget about Christmas Day parkrun!
Of course! For anyone who's interested, you can check to see if your local parkrun is running on Christmas Day and New Year's Day here: www.parkrun.org.uk/special-events/
Here there’s a race in every city and town on December 31 evening, it’s become a tradition 🏃🏻♂️🎄 .
Great stuff. Always used to avoid a Christmas Day run until my daughters became teenagers. May as well use the time they're in the bathroom to do something useful. And yes, I will wear a Santa hat whilst doing so.
You missed the double Christmas parkrunner
I confess! I'm a Christmas card deliverer! 🎄
Yes I am the runner in shorts and a t shirt all year round! It’s not that cold get over it! (That or I am am an atom bomb ready to go off!) apart from Christmas day when Olaf comes out and I boil to death at Parkrun 🤣🤣
I’m sitting in my new kit all day on the couch watching the Running Channel.
Very Funny
If I was forced to hear Michael Bublé during a run, I would probably give up on the sport altogether.
Ha ha ha!!! Give us a like! Come on, it's Christmas!!! OMG!!, you have all my likes!!! You are all awesome. I hope to see Rick running again soon.
For the longest time, running was the only time my hands would be warm (due to undiagnosed hypothyroidism). Now I'm healthy, and my hands still get super hot even on very cold (20 deg F, -7 deg C) weather, and I'm constantly stripping gloves off within 5-10 minutes of starting to run because my hands are too hot. Some people experience cold temperatures in different ways, and I would certainly debate wearing shorts if it's in the 40s, and I usually don't need a winter hat until it's in the low 30s (0 deg C, or lower). (Also, you can definitely become cold acclimatized - last February it was around 20 deg F or lower for all my runs, which started out uncomforatbly cold, and then the temperature grew on me.)
I would never judge someone else for wearing shorts in the snow, or for wearing gloves in the high 60s, low 70s, both things I see frequently. So am I a "not that cold" runner? Or am I a "people have different clothing requirements and we're not all the same and don't experience temperatures in the same way" runner?
I'm supposed to do a 12 mile run on Christmas day. I am going to be that guy now. 🤗
I always run in a vest. Summer: vest. Winter: vest and earband. Summer you inevitably get sweaty, and I'm still coming to terms with that. One of the things that delayed my return to running was my near phobic relationship with ever being sweaty. So I love to run when that's not a risk.
Oh no, I found myself already. Long run day and Christmas collide this year.. Long run has priority of course.
Gotta work off that turkey dinner! Or build up an appetite, which ever comes first!
Always a worthy watch! Admittedly get tired of the pompous 30something UA-cam crowd that will kindly throw in a slow run of 9:30 on Strava in an effort to appeal to real people, while they routinely train for the next Olympic qualifying attempt.
Now if you could just add a 50+ presenter as a 2022 gift to the followers!
Girlfriend is a Magpie, I have of course showed her this clip, I am now going for a run to keep out of her way for a little while. 🤣
A dangerous game to play Simon.
Christmas and running is something to look forward to in New Delhi, in two layers 🤪
XMAS falls on a Saturday this year, and Sunday is my usual long-run day, weather permitting. Phew... crisis averted. (dreading the 1st big snowfall, though, since I have no grippy trail shoes, and LOATHE treadmills)
So funny because it's so true
Advance Merry Christmas ❤🙏🏻
Happy holidays to you too!
The "It's cold runner" is not a christmas exclusive. That type of runner runs in shorts all year around no matter the weather...
Making a Christmas playlist gets interesting when you consider BPM to maintain a decent pace. Just participated in a 12Ks of Christmas event, of course the playlist was needed.
I am a magpie and my husband is the patient running buddy who follows where I go
You missed the ‘I only do Christmas Day’ parkrunner!
I hibernate until its spring. Your winter is autumn to me :D, here finland its really cold and i have astma. And im newbie runner and cant affort winter running shoes and clothes. But im saving to buy running shoes at spring. My gym has rowing machine so i can do something good to lungs exersices
How yah doin! Merry christmas to all!
You forgot the Christmas Day parkrunner!
Never cold, that’s me! 🤣 Deffo not a magpie. What metal I have picked up (not for winning, just for completing) is hanging up in my toilet
Not sure if anyone else hasn’t been getting notifications?? Had to search you guys out. Unsubscribed and then re-subscribe to see if that helps🤞
We have found the good singer
I cant wait for christmas l will go for a nice Run
Guilty, Sleigh Ride on repeat, long run done!
Hello buddy!
5:48 everyone knows the best to Christmas songs are grandma got ran over by a reindeer and Feliz Navidad 😀.
😂😂😂
Haven't seen official confirmation yet but Xmas is Saturday this year so Parkrun are planning to do a Xmas day parkrun if they have enough volunteers! 🤞
Of course Christmas day Run, because it is also my birthday run hahah, born on the 25th :D , am curious which type everyone of the presenters is ? :)
That's a good question May, we have the Christmas party coming up soon, so maybe we'll be able to get a couple of confessions from everyone.
Terrible?! Come on ;/ you aren’t fooling anyone. You have a beautiful voice.
I did run on christmas and all i got were piercing stares
Great video, but apparently Rick is still dealing with his injured leg... :( Do I see it correctly, is he limping now even while walking? Get better soon Rick!!
Love a Christmas playlist,
Last year I delivered my Christmas cards by running. Caught the train to lympstone… ran to my aunts. Dropped the card off. Ran back to my mums in Exmouth
Perfect! Merry Multitasking 😂
We dont have many of those.
And thats ok !
❤🌷🎅🎄
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Sarah 😍🎅🏼🏃♂️
Well if anyone complains I'm using running as an excuse to escape the "no kids yet?" conversation, I'll blame the running channel 😂
😂😂 blame away!
AAAALLLLLLLLL MINEEEEE 😍😙😙😙😗😗😗😍😎
😊😆
Is it a bad thing that I got some great ideas from this video. 🤔 😁
👀👀
Can you juggle three balls while running backwards
Can you run a lap around the track while juggling three balls
Hello
Hey Augustus!
Hahaha can we do a snooty runner stereotype?? You the ones who.think they are the "cool kids" and go around picking faults and laughing at them in others.
They might even make a UA-cam channel and make videos specifically along these lines.
Hate those snooty bdstards.....
