  • Caravan window De-lamination repair. A quick video showing you how best to restore and reglue a delaminated caravan window.
The things I should mention are but were missed are,
Find out for certain what your window is made of as some epoxy glues will not bond to some acrylic or styrofoam windows. So make sure you get the right glue for the job..maybe look into a product called JB Weld cold setting, Which will give you 6 hours of work time and 24 hours of curing and drying a gray color.
Paint, I didn't paint the window as I have another window video already showing the results, and as this was a scrap window I didn't want to throw too much money at it to make a tutorial for you all, Basically. car spray can paint, no primer is needed, be patient and run 4 fine coats and let set in between coats, the last two coats can be thicker to finish, Once set, add wax polish to protect. Happy banning .. edit , If your window is "polyplastic" check your window logo . i found this stuff works much better easier and stronger, look up "Humbrol precision poly cement " it's a 20 mil bottle with a needle tip.uk.humbrol.com...

Good. Just remember. Identifie what your window is made of. Mine is polyplastic. If you're going to use epoxy then make sure you have a reasonable curing time. So the job is cold environment. This slows down hardening. I've had great success with liquid polyplastic glue used in the modelling hobby industry. Humbrol precision poly cement.

What was the two part adhesive you used to stick the two bits back together

an epoxy resin type glue called bondrite, but be super planned and quick,, it dries in minutes,, on my polyplastic window I had better success with humbrol liquid poly cement, sand off all the old glue first though

First I tried purpose glue called "bond right". It worked but hardened very quick so you'll need to do it in a very cold environment if you use that. I have much better success with this. "Humbrol precision poly cement". It's runny so you don't need a lot and gives you 5 minutes to put your clamps on. Check your window. If there's only one side gone this will fix it without separating the window

Can I ask why you didn't repair the section that had delaminated rather than opening up the whole window? Would a small repair not work?

When a caravan window starts to delaminate, it's only a matter of time before the rest goes. Best to take the window out and do it properly, then you'll only have to do it once. I recommend a company called Bondrite. Either buy WC105 (a one-part adhesive, but the printed pattern on the window will likely run) or S1227 (two-part, but printed pattern won't run). I went for the latter.
