    Many guys all over the world will experience hair loss and balding in their early 20's. For me I first noticed I was going bald and losing my hair at 25.
    Fortunately it didn't take me long to realise that acceptance was the only real way to get over losing my hair once and for all.
    For Andre Agassi the transition from epic mullet and "Image is everything" to a happy and successful bald guy who shaves his head took years.
    We can learn a lot by looking at this example of a young successful guy going bald and I hope it gives confidence to other guys out there who may be struggling with going bald.

    Good Video. I started losing my Hair at 19 years of age. I shaved my head one summer when I was 20 in 1985 and back then was made fun of and had all sorts of jokes. So back then it was not an accepted thing plus I wanted hair because you are only young once. Then in 1986 made the biggest mistake of my life and had surgery- Transplants. Long story short from 1986 to 1993 I had all sorts of Surgeries from Punch Grafts, Scalp Reductions, Flaps and strip surgery. The Flap surgery disfigured me for a lifetime. Now I could not go back to bald because I looked like a burn victim. Wore wigs for 14 years which were awful because you cannot keep them on without a ton of glue. I did go to the Gym, Swam in the Ocean but you always have to be in private afterwards to reglue the dam thing back on or Else it feels like a wet bandaid. If you can do what you do and somehow accept it you are better off. Surgery even to day has risks. I get very jealous when I see these guys who are very bald and get these great results but I was not one of them. Now I have had 12 corrective surgeries and have a thin look which is ok but not the best. Will most likely have one more surgery because I can not shave my head because of the. scarring. In fact I have to keep my hair longer for Camouflage. The sad part though and I hope you do not experience what I am gong through now is I cannot even say " Well when I was young I had nice hair". I did at age 16 but by 19 it was obvious I was going to be bald. So in other words for me at least it is not easier and I am 54. I still want that thick head of hair I use to have. It will never happen but you are correct it is a big deal for many people. Hair does something to frame the face and when it is gone sadly the confidence goes too. However there are some guys who have thick heads of hair and have no confidence either. So good video and your message is good for many however Baldness is not a one size fits all. Some will still do a comb over, wear wigs, have transplants or go bald but never truly accept it. One has to do what is best for themselves and no person should be made fun of this condition. It is a devastating thing and people with full heads of hair do not understand and many are Mean spirited. Keep up the Good work and Message!

    the moment you decide its not worth hanging on to hair and just shave it, its the most liberating feeling ever. I was afraid that people would make fun of me, and of course it happens sometimes but usually its stupid people that call me egghead or whatever, for the most part its not as bad as I tought it would be. Have a sense of humor about it, becuase sooner or later people are going to comment on your look, specially when stupid people are pissed off at you, or are jealous of you, the first thing that they´re going to bring up is your shaved head. Humor shows youre confident and carefree, people respect that.

      Juan Pablo oh most definitely. And they usually say something when they see you rocking confidently what they think should be a weakness for you. When they see you going about your day undeterred it makes people feel uncomfortable. Especially if they are dealing with their own insecurities.

It's so liberating. Virtually no maintenance. Just run the razor every couple weeks across my head and that's it. I can still grow a full head of hair if I wanted to. But I have absolutely no desire to. Plus, I look at least 10 years younger without it.

    I am 69 years old and here is my perspective... Men concern themselves with their looks. This subject could go into shaving chest hair, tattoos, etc. As for the scalp specifically, I really don't see much difference between a guy who wants to maintain the hair-mane look when compared to the guy who tries to look good with a shaved head/-goatee combination, for example. The objective is the same. I grant that Agassi went over the line and became obsessed but that was likely at least partially for financial considerations.

Image is fleeting in life so basing your self esteem by how you look is never a great thing. Do work yeah it was just salt spray by Swarzkopf got2B beach matte. Get out the shower. Towel dry lightly, spray in the salt spray and let the hair dry naturally. I was inspired by that look after a day swimming in the sea. I got out and my hair dried naturally with the wind and salt water and it looked epic.

    Agassi actually shaved his head in 1995 and two years after went to 141 in the world and was doing meth. I think it was more than just the hair, I think it was losing his identity and hating tennis. The transformation to success took some time after the shaved head but he hit rock bottom after he shaved his head.

    • @stephenglasse9756
      @stephenglasse9756 3 роки тому +1

      Yes. Even when losing his hair he still managed to win US Open 94 and then win the next Grand Slam (Australian 95) after shaving his head. Loads of problems after that eg wife, coach issues and he was never the most disciplined player mainly relying on his stratospheric talent. However, the video is correct in that he clearly did struggle with the threat to his image and confidence

    • @Baldcafe
      @Baldcafe  5 років тому +4

      Hey man. This is a tough one but honestly I think in this situation you'd have to go all out to get over it. For a start. Stop believing the stories in your head that you look bad or you will look bad without the hat. You are tall, handsome and healthy as people are literally telling you. The next time you go out just leave the damn hat at home. Force yourself not to wear it for a day. You will be very pleasantly surprised at A. the lack of reaction from others and B. probably a few people close to you saying "Thank goodness you got rid of the hat" Just go for it man there is nothing to fear. That hat has become part of you probably. Leave it at home 👍

You could tell it was a sensitive issue for him. At least he got over it and is happy with a shaved head, Must be so much harder for a public personality

    "Image is everything"; ok, but the image isn't only hair, I mean, he is a tennist and a person, not only hair. Like, the hair isn't powerful enough to sustain his image. It's just a small thing. It should be. If it's a big big thing, that only shows how superficial the person was
