I never heard this song before. Thank you so much beautiful lady. I was never a police officer, but I did spend several years in the military. I knew and accepted the risks in doing so.
I was in law enforcement for over 25 years and have been out for the last three years. Even thought the job was dangerous, I still miss it a lot. The only time I felt appreciated as a cop was after 9/11. Most of my jobs were in small rural towns where back up was 20 to 30 minutes away if I was lucky. I unfortunately have went to several officer funerals. To survive this job you have to fundamentally love the profession, I did. It was the only way I stayed sane. I am an instructor at a police academy now and love it. I try to let the cadets know what they are in for and it isn't always pretty. I loved this song and I appreciate that you featured it and your kind words. To all my brothers and sisters in blue, be safe and watch your six....
I spent 8 years as a Deputy Sheriff in NC as a patrol deputy. The job was dangerous, yet rewarding. This song hits me hard, especially since I’m no longer in the job. Because this song gives me my wife’s perspective and fears for 8 years. Her favorite sound for 8 years was the sound of Velcro ripping as I took off my body armor. It was her signal that I was home, safe and sound. God bless you all my brothers and sisters in Blue, Grey, Green and Brown.
I can't thank you enough for sharing this song, and especially for what you said from your heart and soul, Maddy! My SWAT team leader brother would have appreciated it.
I have so much love for our 1st responders and their families who know they may lose their father, mother, brother, sister every time they go to work ❤❤❤❤❤
@MaddyReactions Hannah Ellis's cousin, Ofc. Daniel Ellis was a police officer who was killed in the line of duty. Hannah Ellis wrote this song from the perspective of her cousin's wife, Katie. The background photos seen in the music video are real personal photos taken by the Ellis family.
I hope you're doing well Maddy 🙏❤️

Pisses me off when I see cops being disrespected. This is why.
