I think that poison and burn should be MORE countered by healing, like 10% of your healing abilities should remove that much burn off your character. Just for some more viable options, cus as it is now, pyg's de-facto "tank" playstyle is functionally dead because poison and burn just beat it unless he can one shot them.
I had this exact same thought. I like remove burning poison equal to 10% of your healing done. I feel like that I feel like that builds an actual counter to poison period. Because I agree, Shield builds feel very weak in the monitor lizard meta.
Agreed, maybe if they made regen stronger or changed it proc timing regen builds (or maybe just increase the regen item numbers so they scale closer to the poison and burn available when you get the right pieces) would be more viable as a counter to them
Scaling builds should beat tanky builds though. Burst builds should be the counter to scaling. They nerfed all burst builds that were too consistent so now they need some luck to happen. Issue with most of the dot builds is that they are very consistent. The enablers have to be pushed back in rarity so they show up less often and are less forceable.
@ yea I can see that; I’m honestly just salty from wasting runs trying to make high regen work but the most I’ve been able to get is like 500 regen and it still gets wrecks
I think Kripp is right that the dooley ray builds aren’t as oppressive as stated in the sense that a lot of different aggro builds beat it I also think it is oppressive in a very different way though, many different aggro builds beat monitor/rays, but you pretty much can’t play a ramping shield build at all because you may just run into 5 dooley’s in a row even if you’d beat all the aggro builds that beat dooley.
Yes it's not simply oppressive it's just consistent is the issue. Having rays start out at maybe gold would possibly help the issue. I've had so many runs where like day 3-4 I have almost the whole set up, or have been offered it on Dooley. I would like the variety so I don't feel like I'm wasting tickets by not firing off the consistent 10 win for dust.

How would two claws interact if you managed to get two of them? Also, you can get it late as Burn Dooley for whom it is an insane item. Additionally, you don't even have to get it early as Vanessa, as long as you're already set up for a burn build. Since you scale from other items, you still get to benefit from early investments in burn. In your build, for instance, you wanted to put Embers into Weather Glass, anyways. That means at what point in the game you got Fireclaw mostly mattered for where you wanted to steer the build from that point onward.
Watch Kripp get augmented weaponry, watch Kripp then get a spread of amazing weapons I rarely see to play, cutlass and tiny cutlass, golden and diamond basilisk fangs, get offered scaling damage on crit skill early on he skips, then he proceeds to play mid boring ass weatherglass burn build with a meme claw T_T
