I have a bowl that my girls can't flip but one of them prefers to eat her pellets off the ground/fleece. I've watched her smooth her face around in the pellet bowl until it overflows and then she eats its what falls out. I think its more natural for them to eat that way, from the ground rather than eating out of a bowl where they have to reach up and over the sides. Just my thoughts after observing my 2
I have a question ..slightly off topic. Do guinea pigs purr / vibrate when happy or scared? I don't own any piggies yet but I'm hoping to get a pair in the future. I'm currently a tiny bit obsessed with watch piggies on youtube learning as much as possible before adding to the family.
I've covered this on a couple videos brush make a specific video about it. The / means a bunch of different things like the word Smurf. It can be positive and negative depending on the situation but usually it is win they're doing dominance Behavior. They're usually thrilled during this moment. They also will purr when they are startled. When you touch their but they purr sometimes because it triggers that dominance Behavior
I love when they know it's time to eat and hear it. Come right to u. So I have 5 piggies now and made a part of the bedroom all for them. Is that big enough ? It's a c n c cage I just made bigger by not adding it together I just made it to where a portion of the room us theirs and it's closed in with the cage
Hello Amber! If you listen to what I said I said that it is free health checks for all guinea pigs no matter what their situation and that means no matter where they came from, no matter what the situation at all! All Piggies get free health checks, unlimited health checks. You could come in one day for a nail clip and then realized that your piggy doesn't sound like they are breathing right and you could schedule an appointment for the very next open time
Scotty, does that thing come with a tiny helmet? Doesn't look very safe for popcorning. I would forget about the wooden roof. I just know I would get excited and BONK (again!). Maybe a padded ceiling...
@@CavyConsciousness Hmmmm. Laughter. Methinks the human from down under has never bumped her head. It hurts! Well, I'm glad to make you smile, especially since you are named after a flower, like I am. You know, they could at least paint a "CAUTION!!! NO POPCORNING!" sign outside the door of that thing.
question about the loft, you used grids for the base, are wire clips enough to hold it in place? my piggies are suuuper active and loove to give in to the zoomies so I want to make it as sturdy as possible
I use zip ties, if that is what you mean by wire clips. Plastic zip ties are very strong especially if you double Loop them in such a way that they overlap 2 squares and do not slip
I like the look of these cages, but I have had seven piggies. Three of them would have escaped this first day. What can you reccomend for adventurous little girls who are not afraid to climb or jump?
I am quite the jumper myself and if I got excited enough I might jump out, even by accident. My owner, Shark, keeps my cage covered with a big lightweight grid she made out of small red grids exactly like the cage walls, except they are very lightweigt plastic. They are held together by zip ties. It just sits on the top of my cage. My favorite part is that when my "red roof" is lifted I know something good is going to happen, and when the roof goes back on, I know it's time to say goodbye to Shark. Shark feels I am safer with a roof. Sometimes I think she is on a mission to rid the world of preventable disasters!

They get along great but Rubble seems to want to show his dominance and mounts the back of Chase. What are your thoughts.... and what do you think about a pig and rabbit having interaction and developing a bond together? Peace and love from, The Cochran Fam
Generally speaking it's pretty dangerous for guinea pigs and rabbits to be together especially if the guinea pig is mounting the rabbit the rabbit could kick him and hurt him or kill him.
