I’m really enjoying this. It’s exactly what I’m planning on doing. 2 inch lift on 33’s. I have all the parts just not the time. I had no idea about the extended bump stops so I’ll get some of those. Thanks for sharing all this good info. I’ve never done any 4x4 stuff so I’m learning
Glad to hear it! The idea behind the series was to make it more information based as opposed to filming the action and assuming people would know what we were doing and why👍
I've ran csts on my truck for a few years now I rate them highly. I ran razors on my other truck in the same size and the csts have out lasted them and are cheaper. Awesome build matt it was a good watch.
Glad to hear you enjoyed the video! I was super impressed with the csts on Flynn’s truck so I was pretty keen to try them out and I’ve loved them so far!
Nice to see you two back again. It would be good if you could elaborate more for people like me who don't know exactly what your using. Ie like when you used iso to clean the tow points and done grey paint. I presume primer? And what orange top coat you were using. Also show what you need to detach to show the flex. Cheers guys. Shame you missed recording a lot of content
Cleaning the tow points was to remove the oily coating they came with (to prevent rust) and then it was a primer coat and a top coat, both just generic spray paint nothing hard wearing or special about them. In regard to flex we disconnected the shocks and unclipped the brake lines and the abs lines. If we needed to go further we would remove one of the bolts from the front of the radius arm👍. And yeah it’s a pity we lost content but I guess that’s what happens when the build takes over a year to complete😂
Talk to a certifier if you are concerned, but I’ve never known of anyone to get cert for extended bump stops or get failed on a warrant for having them without cert
It’s weird. 4wd people love maxxis. Mtb people love maxxis. But car guys universally hate Chinese tyres. Tbh there’s only one Chinese tyre that I’ve heard of is amazing and that’s the linglong greenmax. Btw cst is made in same factory as maxxis tyres. They may even be the same company, don’t quote me on that though.
Correct, CST is the parent company of Maxxis. I can’t weigh in on the car tire side of it as I’ve never owned a car, but Maxxis are definitely one of the top performing 4wd tire brands

Congrats on 1000 subscribers!!! Can’t wait to see what you’re going to do to this
Thanks mate, definitely excited to have reached this milestone! Got quite a few videos waiting to be edited, just need to find the time to do it😅
@ I’ve got a disco1, but it’s always great seeing something similar
Great build and nice to hear and see the explanation for adding the bump stops!
No worries! Where possible we tried to explain each step as we did it so that it’s informative as well as just being a series to watch👍
Couldn’t see the bigger coils on the new spring - if anything they looked slimmer. No worries though if it works.
September = spring. Love it. 😂

@@mattbruwould like to join you with my Disco 2 to compare!
I ran CST land dragons on my old ranger, they’re a brilliant tyre off-road, unsurprisingly they’re terrible on the road
He said r15. What rims are those? It clears the calipers? I thought 16 was the smallest?

Does the rear springs to the front work for Disco 1s too?
Yep, works for a d1 as well and gives roughly a 2” lift👍
Would extending the bump stops require a cert ?
