Can’t express how I feel after watching this interview. We lost both great director/lyricist/story writer and also great singer SP Balu Sir. These 2 are irreplaceable personalities and we lost them when they were not too old.

The Level of decency did go down for the past 30 yrs when compared to the golden age of Telugu cinema i.e 1950's-70's. It is an Blatant truth that Arts like Movies, literature do have effect on General Public. I have many examples in History. So please acknowledge the fact that the quality has come down.
@@udaykalyan3130 Quality is subjective, see for an instance I have watched some old movies, technicality offcourse was bad when compared for obvious reasons and other reason is the realistic nature of old movies were very bad, the world cinema had a par differnece between a drama and a feature film, the later was more realistic while drama is over the top acting, old movies didn't had a difference between a stage drama and a realistic acting, for example when an actor or actress cry in the old movies it feels very artificial it doesn't come across as any good, Im not saying today's telugu movies are any better but they are getting better than old, if not all most movies are getting more real. I again say quality is subjective some might feel, over the top drama as real acting for some the natural acting is the way of doing it. When the art itself is very subjective you cannot rubbish the new generation aet, it just that you too old to understand than the new way of doing it and vice-versa.
According to me movie or feature film is about make belief so for me acting should be natural without over the top drama, otherwise there is no difference between drama and a feature film
@@carpediem4755 agreed that the language changes and evolves over years. However, Telugu language hasn't changed a lot in the last 4-5 decades. The colloquial language changed quite a lot because of movie influence. In today's generation, most of the star actors can't even pronounce Telugu words properly. One star actor recently pronounced బాధ్యత incorrectly in a blockbuster movie (influence of English pronunciation and alphabets in recent times). In this generation, I can't think of anyone other than Jr. NTR who can perfectly pronounce all the Telugu words. Firstly, I don't agree the story quality has improved in recent high budget movies. With today's technology, Directors could use more subtexts (read 1 nenokkadine), instead of spoon feeding the audiences. However, majority of the audiences can't understand these subtexts which could be decide the movie result. Moreover, films like bahubali have a mediocre storyline. In comparison, I feel simhasanam was far far better demonstrating better politics. Hollywood movies have good stories on the other hand: for example, the cinematic universes (marvel, dc, star wars, star trek, Harry Potter, lord of rings etc) created are huge. No Indian movie has ever shown Mahabharata in it's entirety. There is a good opportunity to create cinematic universes in India as the content is all ready. Secondly, vulgarity in movies is more pronounced in the last decade or so. This has been on an increase. Good to see some movies focus on gender bias and stuff but movies like RX 100 are still successful. Finally, I can recall some old movies without overacting (read mayabazaar, missamma) - but they always had perfect pronunciation. Maybe people wanted to see stage acting 4-5 decades ago.
After the Black and white era...Jandhyala,K.Viswanath,Bapu,Vamsy,RGV are the only genuinely talented directors in telugu film industry according to me.
Really missing 90s 😢 and as 90s kid. Ah, those are the days where no Fking mobiles, Internet, online games but had plenty of physical activities, portable antenna tvs.
The anchor has no manners to sit such a way before Jandhyala Garu. She is a big Zero before Jandhyala garu. Jadhyala is an asset to our Telugu cini goers and no one can replace the void created by his demise. We miss him ...gone too early. The middle class lives are represented by him on the screen like never before in cinemas. Especially the contemporary Indian lives of late 70's, 80's and 90's be best visualised by his writings. What a great creative brain his is!! Every incident in real life can be used to recreate common man. Please watch the movies, "Naalugu sthambalata", " Rendu jalla Seetha" Sankarabharanam and such.. beautiful movies penned by the great Legend Jandhyala garu.
