I have watched Oral Robert's with my mom since I was a little girl 👧. If I had a loose tooth or a cold I would write a letter to Oral Robert's, sometimes for my brother or father if they were sick. Mom would enclose my little letter with hers and we always sent an offering. Mom made 🎂 , 🥧 , cupcakes 🧁, yeast bread 🍞 upon request for the neighbors and I brushed and and styled hair with back combing and lots of hair spray. God always provided. Mom even included ou earnings in our taxes in the Spring. Later in my life I went to a healing meeting a growth had come up in my leg. I limped, that leg was shorter than the other. The other hip was higher too. An evangelist prayed for everyone In The church with needs. When he prayed for me my leg was straightened, my hips became even and I no longer limped. I had to buy new shoes my old ones were leaning. Run over and worn a lot more on one side. God heals today when you find a man or servant of God with an anointing pray with them don't suffer. ❤.

Yes,it seems that the 50's were the last decade of the church having a strong sense of unity and influence, the sixties were very tumultuous with folks forsaking the old paths in swarms, the 70's God was reaching out but the church had embarked on a mission to make the gospel user friendly, nowadays we are so far from the truth we feel that we actually have it.

I remember as a child, my grandmother watched him faithfully. It's hard to find healing minister's theses days. I listen to him quite often for healing for my grandson.

Oral Roberts was always a family event in our home. From Grandparents to the youngest baby, we gathered to hear this man to speak and to pray. He was in Pensacola, and I remember the 2 hour ride there. I remember the crowds, but I don't remembe the event. I was all of five.. maybe. And I slept the 2 hours home. I wish that I had been able to stay away and have the whole memory. My parents are gone now, so I can't even ask them about it. And of course I never thought to ask about it before.
Love Oral Robert's. We need more like this. The Lord God is still on the throne. I trust God for our healing. Thank God for real soldiers. Let us believe together. Amen.
Type has no tone. I don't mean this to sound as harsh as it may sound. I believe God has grown many people with personal revival these past few years, but the harvest is plentiful, and the workers are few, I am praying to the Lord of the Harvest to send forth the workers. There are not enough mature believer for all the people in need because too many found themselves too good to be simple no name harvest workers. I get it, people may not feel the Holy Spirit pour out from the pastor, BUT thank God their are parking attendants willing to pause, pray, and help let people know they can be baptized by the Holy Spirit. There are too many people complaining the church isn't perfect and refusing to go to it. Yeah these spiritual hospitals have sick people, but perfect or not, we are to gather and heal together. I shouldn't claim to understand the issues but it seems some are too prideful to go to church because they claim "their needs" are not being met and the church is not how "they feel" God should have it run. I can't even unpack that so I will move on. Others seem too self-conscious to stand out as simply a different part of the body of Christ while staying in the body, but not understood. God made each of us to be part of the BODY. I have seen so many people leave churches, they say the church changed, nope, time and time again I saw how it was them that changed, mostly for the better, but how, not why, they left the church was not good. While it was good that they learned to self-feed, some simply sought different parts of the body and claimed those were BETTER parts, that is NOT maturity. They may have said it was too simple now, far from it, the message of Jesus (including love your neighbor) is always simple sounding, but harder in application. Application and unity and not argument and division is what we are called to. I get some BURN with a message to give, but they refuse to stay connect to the body and wait for God to promote them to speak it. And sometimes they miss that the revelation they want to speak over the body is actually boundaries God has put them under, but maybe not others, or others yet. They missed how much they needed those simple messages and the ability to apply the messages with others before they try to lead. They miss that they must be able to be lead before God can use them to lead. People think they leave "seeker friendly" and imperfect churches because they have matured, but really, if they find themselves without a church or in an echo chamber of theology with no actions, they have become like rebellious teens unwilling to see how they still need even the simplest of guidance that shows them that they don't know it all and do need to still listen to those whom God has appointed over them. I praise God for the times I walked in faith, because I couldn't feel God as easily while being obedient to him, it grew me the most to obey God even when the fruit was hard to see and leaders didn't seem to have the best of ideas to support. But in faith, and without sin, I supported leadership that is maturing. How much faster would this all have come had so many not abandoned them?
My point is the Holy Spirit shows up in the weirdest of places at my church, but few remember they are in the body and get all that the body has to offer. Few are there for the little children with full grown spirits but no one to minister to them. Even the most mature at my church are still trying to be body parts cut off from others and that's not what God calls us to. The Devil wins when the body fights itself due to pride and insecurity not understanding their authority in Christ even if they don't have a title. I am not saying people should stay in a church that preaches to do wrong or be abused, but even a (spiritual maturity of a) teen or an adult knows how to gently guide their loving, well meaning, but imperfect parents back onto the path of being able to help others in the family and GROW THEMSELVES both on their own but also as a FAMILY. I have been at the same church for 17 years and had many an uncomfortable but scripture-based talk with pastoral staff, and more so the people who actually made those calls, but we always stayed family, one body and the goal was not rebuke, scolding, but reunification, restoration, what does scripture say. The harvest is sooo plentiful. The workers don't like the fields or overseers God has placed them near. "To the pure, all things are pure; but to the defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure. Indeed, both their minds and their consciences are defiled. They profess to know God, but by their actions they deny Him." I know so many who have chosen their homes and online pastors but they have abandoned the houses of worship and actually being the hands and feet of Jesus where the people seeking God are actually showing up. The Holy Spirit and healing comes forth at church if you seek God to have it come forth at church, the issue is the people spend more time looking for issues in the church than using it as the place to take their issues to God. If God called you to your home for a season, GREAT, ask God where he is calling you now. Forgive the tangent but the Holy Spirit is in my church, but people thinking themselves wise, they have become fools. THEY MISS OUT! Both in my house in the middle of the night or at church on Sunday the Holy Spirit shows up, BUT if I am keeping the gifts God has given to myself or waiting for a leadership position to use them I am not only missing out, I am not obeying the simplest of things God has called me to such as loving my neighbor. Pastors are neighbors too.
